I’m happy for Paige.. I always felt awful for her when I watched her season of MAFS. I think her husband (Chris) was the worst husband on MAFS history. He put her through so much but I always admired how she handled it all with class. Glad to see her doing well.
Paige was an example of how Christians shouldn't be throwing around "the spirit told me" or "I feel it in my spirit". I'd always feel scared for her each time she threw out one of those "spirit" claims.
The major difference between religions and cults is supposedly free will. Paige is proof that indoctrination coupled with the desire to win can supersede one's best judgement. Every believer should watch that season.
I’m not surprised by Beth and Jamie. More surprised it took this long for it to come out. I hope she recovers and finds peace
Unfortunately we all watched without really understanding what we were seeing as early as the honeymoon. In hindsight, the ab*se was very apparent in the screaming and running away by both. Where were the experts and producers?

I love these updates! Keep them coming! And - WOW - Beth's allegations tell me the show does not do enough to screen the cast. She didn't deserve that - especially from a match making show. Trust the process? I think not after hearing a bit of her story. So sad.

I thought that, too. I will also withhold judgement about the allegations and I hope it was just a mistake, but that was a red flag for me. She made the trashy comment then talked about wanting to stand up for all women who experienced DV? Incompatible.

I was shocked at their behavior on the show, the horrible things they said to each other, Beth flinging about furniture (did I imagine that?). If any DV happened, I’m inclined to think it was a 2-way street. Agreed, DV isn’t restricted to the “trashy.”

I would guess that Beth and Jamie were abusive to each other. I will never forget her kicking things and throwing the coffee table in the living room. She got physical when she got mad, which was daily.

We know that their success percentage is abysmal.
With Beth's update, man...this is why I say the experts need to step in when people's mental health and physical health are in danger. There are several seasons where these marriages ended horribly with restraining orders and the like, and my question is what are the experts doing. In any experiment, the person conducting the experiment has an moral duty to stop the experiment when certain ethics are violated. I get this isn't a scientific experiment, but still there has to be an ethics component to it.
Experts????? This was for TV marriage....if she was bring beat whilst filming, why did she stay AFTER .....I DONT BELIEVE HER #Emitt...let's not act like some women don't lie

He was Not Happy with her when he saw her walk down the aisle.. he was Horrendous to her. They had sex according to him bc she wanted to.. he then went into bathroom and threw up . And then told her Not to tell the experts.. he also on their 1 month anniversary. Stayrd out all night while she was home crying
Another couple (don't remember names) he was ta and a bb player. He would go out and stag out like 2nights ..then re-appear and wouldn't give any reason or details as t ok where he was . Except Out. She would get very upset..
To see young women being emotionally abused like this for an experiment they signed onto didn't make sense 😮
Yayyy I loved seeing all the updates. So sorry to hear about the sad issues with Beth and Jamie but I can say I'm not surprised. I can't believe they lasted as long as they did.
I was shocked to hear what Beth had to say. Wow! Although my ex never hit me, the mental abuse was horrible. He had so much control over me it was scary. It took him shooting himself in front of me (he lived) and nursing him back to health to wake me up and see what kind of man he was. On a positive note, I love your updates!

@@suburbcinderella If you were asking me after he healed, he went right back to drinking and did not change. I filed for divorce and received primary physical custody of my 2 kids. I moved into an apartment and started over again. After a while, I bought a house. It was extremely hard, but I did it. My kids are now 23 & 21. I am now 56 and happy. That was over 16 years ago. I stayed single as I don't think love is in the cards for me.
My Cousin knew Alexis from San Diego and she told me that Alexis was Gay. She was on this show for the money. I guess she was right 😅

Sad to hear about Beth's situation. Please, ALWAYS sign a prenup and DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get married, no matter how much you think you are in love, in a state that does not honor prenups. I believe NJ is one. Always cover your you-know-what. I have a good friend who makes great money and when his wife left him she took everything because they did not sign prenups.

There was so much toxicity with Beth and Jamie I think most of us were shocked, if not disgusted, that they stayed together. They sure put on a good act together though. And I guess she stayed longer for that limelight and money. Why else would someone stay with an abuser and continue to play along on camera? How did he end up with all her money and possessions? Huh? He's garbage for sure but for me that's nothing new. Beth needs to chill out with her savior of abused women speech. She clearly handled all of it poorly. She's no role model. First by staying and putting on this act of unity. Then by losing her assets, which I'm still confused about. She can volunteer herself as an advocate when her own mess is dealt with and she understands what happened to her and why. Jeezus

I think Beth said the “Not trashy enough” comment to distance herself from her experience. I think she’s still processing this. I do wish she used better words as no one is bad or less than for reporting abuse. I think Beth still can’t believe that it happened to her. It can happen to anyone.
But she is right about people having to leave with nothing and finding it hard to get their possessions back. It’s more common than you think. I hope she gets through all this ok.

I just did a quick read on the DV laws in Colorado and they fall into six categories. The claims made in the video check off the box for three of those, and are punishable as a felony. If joint assets are being held by one of the parties, courts will usually hear the case very quickly because it leaves a party destitute or could amount to theft.
Who knows what happened in this case, but claims that a 6'4" man could do as she described, she called the police, and she was not only removed from her residence but denied a restraining order, doesn't pass the sniff test for any woman. Legal documents won't prove that the claims are accurate but at least they would resolve the simple question of why they both claim to have filed for divorce.
Beth was a horrible person on the show! I didn't think they were going to say yes at the final scene. Beth is questionable????

Oh my gosh, I never liked Beth. She was Out. Of. Control.. When I watched the show, I felt bad for Jamie. 1- I can't believe she said "I have never had to be TRASHY enough to call the police for domestic violence." People who are abused are trashy?!?!?!? WHAT?!?!! There are plenty of affluent people that get abused. What/Who exactly does she think is trashy???? 2- She obviously wasn't disciplined as a child. 3- I thought the exact same thing you did, Tamara. I feel like if Jamie was violent toward her in any way, she could have taken him. I think she would put a hurtin' on him (give him the beat down). I really don't see this happening, but I could be wrong. I can tell you that people who are abused tend to shut down and will do anything to keep from setting the person off. She didn't seem too worried because she kept mouthing off. IF she truly was abused, I'm sorry for her. Maybe she should think about how she speaks and treats others.

Shocked to hear Beth's experience. Not surprised though that they didn’t last because they never felt right together. Always felt like they were talking themselves into being into each other. Felt like their many moves was in search of happiness.
