He doesn't need to copyright first. The second he uploads anything online, he's basically establishing his copyright. I wouldn't copyright songs until you're making decent money from them. The copyright process takes so long & costs $$, it's unnecessary for songwriters who are just starting out!
@@1pyroace1 surely someone could just take his work though ? when we register with BMI , PRS which ever is appropriate are these companies copyrighting our material ? if not how do we go about protecting our material . TH-cam does not allow registration with content id if you dont own 100% exclusivity to every sound in your music so if there are any drum kits,loop kits,sample kits used royalty free or not you cant register

I’d like to stay independent for as long as possible as long as it pays. But I have mouths to feed and little ones that depend on me ultimately.

how do we add producers ? what if you bought the lease? I know I another video you mentioned we still need to add them for payout. but don't leases cover you for a certain number of streams and plays? would you worry about that stuff once the lease is running out/when the song blows?

Is it such a good idea to release our music in "bulk" everywhere? I noticed that some artist strategically upload some - or the single - of their recent album - but not "everything". I was basically in front of the list wondering "WHO" I should distribute to and "WHO" should I hold back a little? What are you thoughts on this and could this be a content idea you may want to discuss in your Music$Mondays? Thanks!
