(NOTE: SETTING POSTS ARE INSTALLED) Read Description. License plate mount / bracket for 2013 VW GTI

Post production note: In the video, I didn’t install the rivets with the setting posts; however, I DID install them after I shot the video. You need them to secure the mount otherwise it’ll loosen and possibly fall off during driving. I have weak arms and hands, so I used a hammer to tap the post a couple times, then used the head to apply pressure as I pushed it in the rest of the way.

This is a visual on how to install a 2013 Volkswagen GTI factory model front license plate bracket/mount. I was getting frustrated that I couldn’t find anything online specific to my vehicle. I even chatted with VW customer service online, and they referred me to my local dealership. I wanted to figure this out, especially since this is an easy task. I found similar posts on Google and decided to create a tutorial of my own. I suppose I could’ve installed the plate directly on the bumper without the mount, but it looks better with it.
The mount, rivets and posts came with the vehicle in a sealed plastic bag. Unfortunately, I don’t have part numbers for them.
Additional tools you’ll need:
Screws for your license plate (pay attention to length) I used half inch screws.
A drill and drill bits. I used size 11/64 for the license plate holes, and 5/16 for the mount holes
Painters or masking tape to mark hole placement
Marking pen
A multi-tool or screwdriver
(optional) Hammer to help with setting posts
