I have several Tom Bihn Bags and was strongly considering an Aeronaut 30 for travel. This bag came up and if it came in Ursa, I would have bought it. The only thing that I would have liked to see is straps that tuck away and a lined front panel. The lack of the halcyon lining gives it a cheaper feel. If Ursa comes out in the next batch I may consider, else I’ll keep with my Aeronaut 45 and Cambiata. Thanks for the preview.

Agree on the need for lining in the admin pocket

I'm hoping Tortuga will do a 30L or a 32L "Lite" for $200. I'd like to see those two bags compared. When Tortuga makes its smaller option.

I dont like how long time tom bihn fans are trashing this bag. It looks good and is much more functional for a lot of people. There are many folks for whom the synik is too compartmentalized and the techonaut is too unstructured. I personally need a rectangular shaped bag with a tall thin admin pocket, large main compartment and larger than usual laptop pocket and this bixi is perfect for me. Is it somewhat similar to other brands? Maybe. But there is only so much variation possible in a backpack. Tom bihn has aer and other brands beat with quality, miusa, and colors. I hate black bags and need color options. Tom bihn does that. I like this bag.

This reminds me of the Tortuga bags in how it's organized, except that the Tortuga bags open sideways like a suitcase. Curious how it is priced a lot less than the T30. Where are the O-rings distributed?

Overall Aer TP3 is bigger and nicer pack with better lining, premium laptop compartment foaming, very comfortable shoulder harness with strap keepers but probably overkill with organisation and weight of the bag as a result. However easy bag for recommendation for wider audiences for travel. I like these points of a balance of less organisation and size of a bag. Also I think that full opening in comparison to Techonauts is advantage. But maybe with lack of compression straps Techonaut U shaped opening provides some reduction of size of the bag when it is not full

More foam means less space for your stuff. Aer tp3 is notorious for packing less than it ought to.

Very pricy for what it is, especially without load lifters, as that bag could get very heavy
