Oh Diane, I agree with you on the gnome pattern. I bought the book Gnomes of Grimblewood by Imagine Landscapes and I am going to knit my gnomes from the book as my own advent. Let’s have fun, I have all of mine based upon, 12 in all.😊

It was nice to see/hear about your Dec plans. I did an Advent puzzle for the first time last year and enjoyed it so much that my first 2024 puzzle is completed and under plastic cover on the table. Don't be surprized if you would like to do more than one little box per day. I'm set with another puzzle (or 3) for Dec and beyond. I also have regular puzzles on the go. I really wish the 24 day idea would take hold through out the year. I'm going to need to watch your yarn vlogmas for ideas for my self packed yarn Advent calendar using Aberdeen's micro/macro skeins.

@@MyPinkBathtub-Diane For my Notions calendar I set myself a new schedule. I have been opening a notion Sunday morning with my coffeetime. I started end of August, so that gave me 14 openings. As of tomorrow I will open one every third day. That puts me on daily opening for Dec 22 to 25, finishing out the last few windows with the intended timing.
@MyPinkBathtub-Diane I have 2 advents. My Hue Loco will be what I hope to work on each day during December will be a Radvent Cardigan. My Blackbird Sycamore will be used to create the Sweet Shop Blanket which will be one of my make 9 for 2025. High hopes for sure.
Catching up on two videos today. Got my Aberdeen’s advent the day before my bday so all worked out. I think I was also a little stressed since I too let my husband buy it as a gift. I think I was more worried about HIS disappointment if it didn’t arrive on time 😂 I’m right behind you in socks! Still need to finish the last after thought heel on my first pair (started like 6 months ago). However, though it was a good idea to do a Thanksgiving sock challenge to knit a pair in ONE long weekend 😂😂 almost done with the first. It is textured pattern, but super simple. I highly recommended the pattern as a first textured pattern. It’s called the Oxbow Socks by Andrea Mowry AKA Drea Renee Knits 😊

What colours are you planning to knit our twin gnome in? I round love to see yours when you complete it, Mary. I am wondering if I will need to weight it for it to stand. I haven't read through the instructions yet.
I have a couple color choices picked out. Now that some out of town family has headed home, I need to get started. If I keep procrastinating, I’ll nerve get it cast on. I wasn’t sure if it would sit flat or wobble a bit and was thinking of weighing it.

Hi Diane. You have such a great organized plan for advent. I have not made a plan yet at all. I have the Nespresso advent so I will get an amazing coffee every morning to enjoy, I have the polar express 12 day advent which I am going to open every other day. I also purchased on a whim the purple circle yarn co opal 24 day advent. I think I will be making scrappy socks with this advent but who knows. Most of my gift knitting is done but I am sure I will be adding a few gifts to the mix in December as well.
Alice told me you are an incredible sock knitter! And very fast! I would have loved a coffee advent, but I don't like flavoured coffee, so what's the point 😅

I'm knitting a Musselburgh hat in Dec and I have lots of crochet catnip mice to keep me busy. First year I don't have an advent calendar not evena chocolate one.
Working on a cocoon cardigan for my granddaughter for Hanukkah, a sweater for me and a top for a friend for her birthday in January are on the top of the list.
I am totally a DPN girl! I don't even have an interest in trying another method as I am proficient using them for mittens and toys. Why mess with what works!

(I just heard you talk about weaving in your ends, I spent 2.5 hours weaving in all my sock ends 2 days ago, talk about waiting for the last minute, they are all Christmas gifts.
