John…please review the CHAMBERED MAHOGANY Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS and/or Fender Player II Telecaster. They’re both available in Transparent Cherry with Rosewood Fingerboard.
I own a HSS Player Plus Top. The three pickup polarities are all the same, so it hums in positions four, two and ONE! The humbucker does not buck hum. Meanwhile, the guitar I tried recently (looks like the one in this video) is hum cancelling in those three positions so Fender can do this when it chooses to.
Great video ... I like what you said Looks like the American performer made in America , this is made in mexico .. Yes correct.. about 100 miles away... But you save $800.00...no brainer by the Player II ..
This guitar sounds pretty good and Fender-authentic, and I felt the American Performer sounded noticeably better. IF you have the skill to match them, the Player ii with an upgraded set of pickups gives the American Performer a run for its money for hundreds less IMO.
According to the tech info for the Player II on Fender's website in position 2 the bridge humbucker is split with the middle pickup. I might buy one of the Player II necks when they become available and swap it out with my original player neck though.
@intense_vibration Haven't yet but I am heading for a couple of shops next week to try a few with rosewood and maple fretboard in sss and hss and most important light in weight because I don't like heavy guitars
P4 really cut the clear highs off the neck pickup. I play P2&4 a lot for humbucking on my only Strat which has 3 singles. Those weren't my favorite positions on this Strat. Overall this guitar sounds great.
I believe its because the Pau ferro they used in the original player series wasn't as dark looking as advertised and I hear some people complain about having to use lemon oil to darken the neck wood to make it look more like a traditional dark wood

Great value. I'm impressed. I just sent this link to one of students, he outright bought it on the spot.
I just ordered one with the maple neck. Thanks for the review

Mint green Dual Humbucker Pickguard and some Pearly Gates in both positions! Im IN
The beige plastics first things to change. Vintage tuners can stay.
Will Fender ever make a Mick Mars signature strat?
What about Jerry Jupiter? Or Vince Venus?

There is an $800 difference between an instrument made by Mexicans in the USA and an instrument made by Mexicans in Mexico?

Crazy how dark some of the fretboards are.

That intro was almost Toad Harbor from Mario Kart.
how is the tuning stability??
I won't get rid of my player 1 strat sss pf but this one with rosewood and in hss looks pretty good and may be my next
Am wanting the green one. Wish they had blue with rosewood. Which one u getting

@@intense_vibrationi have the birch green in sss and want this white in hss......absolutely love it btw
@@kyletaylor5252i really wasn't looking for another Strat but i just saw that musiciansfriend has them on sale for $649... Why am i like this? 😭
🎉😊
Do these play similar to the performer?
I didnt see you activate the hum-b with the 'pull'' bottom rotary switch?

The player I had a split in position 4, so this is a little surprising, but all told this sounds really good.
Looks great!!!!
Can upgrade the bridge/tremolo system? plus locking tuners.
Went back to rosewood as an upgrade. Sounds like Samsung going flat-screen. Lol
I'm happy about the return of rosewood though. I like it and maple preferred.

Rather have an EVH or Charvel.
Sold my charvel for this
$800 and no coil tap?
Too bad the HB is not 500k
