He's insanely underrated. He's definitelly the second best goal keeper in Serie A (Handanovic being the best). Although, in his first 2 seasons he has been dreadful on set pieces. Thankfully it seems like he worked on it this season and is much more confident in those kind of situations.

It's consistently been the weakest link in the team. Many of us our collectively creaming ourselves over the possibility that Alex Telles is close because we've needed a proper LB forever.

Not sure I agree with Brighton’s left back assessment. Bong, whilst not spectacular, did a solid job in our promotion season and Bernardo looks to be a decent option there, as has big Dan Burn, who has played well there considering it isn’t his natural position. Our weakest area has probably been striker. We never suitably replayed Murray when he left at the end of our promotion winning season to the championship, until Ulloa. He then left and we failed to replace him until Murray returned. We’ve gotten by with our ageing talisman in the PL but, based on Brighton’s inability to score consistently in the PL, we have yet to find a proven PL goal scorer.

I would include Left Back for Liverpool. Sure, Robertson has been outstanding, but before his arrival, Liverpool's left back was a mess. Fabio Aurelio was good, but didn't stay too long on the decade. Jose Enrique was fairly good, but spent most of hist time at the club out injured, Rodgers would often use Sakho who was decent as CB but really awful at LB, Aly Cissokho didn't do much, John Flanagan looked promising for like half a season, Alberto Moreno had great pace and a decent left foot for long range strikes, but never managed to make the position his own, and Milner had to become the first choice LB for almost 2 complete seasons.
I think Arsenal had a bigger problem with CDM or the lack of one since Gilberto left. Song was becoming a very good player before leaving for Barca but was becoming more attack minded. More box to box than holding. Almunia was awful, Fabianski had no confidence, Schzeney was still young but we got some decent moments out of him. Ospina is a decent GK, got a good record but just not a number one at a club supposedly wanting to get back to the top and Cech was gd let down a lot by what was in front of him. I feel if we had a top CDM over the last decade even two at different stages. The balance of the team would have been a lot better. I mean we've still only got Torreira in 2020. Granted we haven't had best keepers but Schzeney and Fabianski both decent now.
For Villa's Goalkeepers: Friedel was great, Guzan started out good but then fell off a cliff, Given was good whenever he played, Mark Bunn was at the club, Gollini didn’t work out, Sam Johnstone was great for us, Nyland has been good this season, Kalinic didn't work out, Steer was great, Heaton was great, and Reina has been good for the most part.

I think Chelsea strikers were naturally cursed by playing in front of many goalscoring midfielders (and left back). For one, I quite like Giroud because his forte isn't in scoring anyway, he won the World Cup pulling away opponents off Mbappe and Griezmann.
Right, there's one aspect of this video that I take issue with, and it's the section on Spurs. Irish Guy isn't alone in writing off Tanguy Ndombele - Jamie Carragher recently pilloried the man live on television - but he was highly rated and earned such a high transfer fee for a reason, and that reason is that he has tons of potential and is really talented. I thought he was a great signing and I don't think one season is enough evidence to prove me wrong. Think about it like this - for players transitioning to England, it seems like CMs have a particularly tough time, but several recent players seen as big money flops have turned things around in a big way. You could make an argument for Jorginho and Fred as being MVP of their respective sides this season, after terrible starts to their careers in England. Fred in particular looked absolutely hopeless at United, but his distribution and his industry have been excellent this campaign. And let's not forget that Fabinho looked fairly hopeless in his first season at Anfield, but was a total rock last season and has only slowed down this year due to injuries. I'll willingly eat shit pie if Ndombele spends another couple of seasons at Spurs and never pans out as a first-team player, and gets spat out back to France, but give him the benefit of the doubt.

Leno should’ve stayed in Leverkusen. Don’t get me wrong, Lukas is brilliant, especially for a free transfer, but Leno is, in my opinion, a much higher caliber than the Finn.

I would include Left Back for Liverpool. Sure, Robertson has been outstanding, but before his arrival, Liverpool's left back was a mess. Fabio Aurelio was good, but didn't stay too long on the decade. Jose Enrique was fairly good, but spent most of hist time at the club out injured, Rodgers would often use Sakho who was decent as CB but really awful at LB, Aly Cissokho didn't do much, John Flanagan looked promising for like half a season, Alberto Moreno had great pace and a decent left foot for long range strikes, but never managed to make the position his own, and Milner had to become the first choice LB for almost 2 complete seasons.
I think Arsenal had a bigger problem with CDM or the lack of one since Gilberto left. Song was becoming a very good player before leaving for Barca but was becoming more attack minded. More box to box than holding. Almunia was awful, Fabianski had no confidence, Schzeney was still young but we got some decent moments out of him. Ospina is a decent GK, got a good record but just not a number one at a club supposedly wanting to get back to the top and Cech was gd let down a lot by what was in front of him. I feel if we had a top CDM over the last decade even two at different stages. The balance of the team would have been a lot better. I mean we've still only got Torreira in 2020. Granted we haven't had best keepers but Schzeney and Fabianski both decent now.
For Villa's Goalkeepers: Friedel was great, Guzan started out good but then fell off a cliff, Given was good whenever he played, Mark Bunn was at the club, Gollini didn’t work out, Sam Johnstone was great for us, Nyland has been good this season, Kalinic didn't work out, Steer was great, Heaton was great, and Reina has been good for the most part.
I'm not Villa fan but I can remember several very poor games Given had at Villa. Everton at home in 2012 springs to mind.

Burnley one is a terrible take - Ward was fantastic for us at left back, and Taylor is one of our most consistent players - pieters is simply backup and only got a run due to Taylors injury
If you're going for Burnleys bad postion, its been our right mid, purely because it's been all over the place with injuries, and we've somehow ended up with Jeff Hendrick at right mid......
Simon mignolet was a brilliant keeper for Sunderland. Liverpool ruined his confidence after a couple of mistakes.
Haller and chicharito were good on their day, just a shame haller started slow and chicharito was injury prone

I think Chelsea strikers were naturally cursed by playing in front of many goalscoring midfielders (and left back). For one, I quite like Giroud because his forte isn't in scoring anyway, he won the World Cup pulling away opponents off Mbappe and Griezmann.
Right, there's one aspect of this video that I take issue with, and it's the section on Spurs. Irish Guy isn't alone in writing off Tanguy Ndombele - Jamie Carragher recently pilloried the man live on television - but he was highly rated and earned such a high transfer fee for a reason, and that reason is that he has tons of potential and is really talented. I thought he was a great signing and I don't think one season is enough evidence to prove me wrong.
Think about it like this - for players transitioning to England, it seems like CMs have a particularly tough time, but several recent players seen as big money flops have turned things around in a big way. You could make an argument for Jorginho and Fred as being MVP of their respective sides this season, after terrible starts to their careers in England. Fred in particular looked absolutely hopeless at United, but his distribution and his industry have been excellent this campaign. And let's not forget that Fabinho looked fairly hopeless in his first season at Anfield, but was a total rock last season and has only slowed down this year due to injuries.
I'll willingly eat shit pie if Ndombele spends another couple of seasons at Spurs and never pans out as a first-team player, and gets spat out back to France, but give him the benefit of the doubt.
