If people actually watched the video and not just read the title they’d see that they give Thibs praise for setting a culture for the Knicks at the end of the video but that doesn’t excuse the fact that his teams “over perform” because all he’s doing is playing the starters 40 mins a game. If you give him good players, he will get you to the playoffs. He's not concerned with winning a championship. What does a championship get an NBA head coach? Championship expectations and fired a couple years later. See coach Vogel and coach Bud. He's not ruining players' futures, he's setting them up financially for life, and that's why they love him. Mitch Robinson is the worst offensive player in basketball. If he played for anybody besides Thibs, he wouldn't have the contract he does. Randle is a good player, but he wouldn't be on any All NBA teams playing for anybody but Thibs. Josh Hart finally found a home. A role player who was the last pick in the first round will be making 20+ million per year largely because of Thibs. Hartenstein will be getting a huge payday two years after the Clippers wouldn't bring him back on a discount deal. OG is going to get paid. Donte DiVencenzo is a folk hero. Brunson is a superstar. Thibs' boss and best player are basically his family. He has no pressure to win a championship. As long as the media narrative is that the Knicks lost because of bad injury luck, everyone's jobs are safe and the CAA family can continue to cash those big James Dolan checks.

Everyone making excuses just doesnt understand the difference between a good coach and a great coach. There are many good coaches every generation, and tibs is one of them... But his refusal to adjust to the weaknesses of his scheme have been holding him back for a DECADE. Just because you can take a team from #10 to #2 doesnt mean youre the best coach for a team. Running your players into the ground is a serious flaw. Al the great plays and tactics wont matter when your players are aways injured when it counts. Instead of focusing so much on winning games with the starting lineup he needs to take the risk of empowering his bench players so that they can produce at a higher level when needed. Anyone saying the knicks wouldnt be in the playoffs without him is just lying to themselves. This team is solid af and would have been at least a playoff team under any coach. The difference is no other coach would have the players play so many minutes for a 90+ game season. The difference in tactics is ruined by the difference in approach. When you have multiple starters with muscle strains, all the tactical schemes are waaaay less useful lol.
All day no offense system plus doesn't know how to get the best out of all players lol I would of one if I was coaching everyone and player would run the triangle offense remember Carmelo did not want to run m....
