Overdoses are complex. Even for professionals. And every one will be different. Even working out whats been ingested is an artform. You guys handle it well. Bet it scares you a bit too, hey! Best wishes.
I've been prescribed Lyrica before for a catastrophic spinal injury and shredded Sciatic nerve. That stuff can seriously mess you up even if you take it as prescribed!
I also take it for spinal fractures - however much had she taken!! It must have been the combo to make her go out like that, because even with morphine it doesn't have much effect.
Emergency doctors tried to prescribe it for me, when I had chronic pancreatitis, which isn't what it's indicated for. My sister had been taking it the year before, and she had an awful time trying to withdraw from it, so there was no way I was taking it.
i have respect for the ICU nurses who tried to hep the teen girl. They offered assistance, did what they could, and stepped away when asked to step away. Yeah, don't lie about drinking, but at least they didn't cause a worse scene
As someone on Seroquel, it is EXTREMELY hard to overdose on Seroquel unless you've taken like 30 of them, definitely some other factors (apart from alcohol) in play
Please look up this medication - thoroughly - before making blanket statements such as this. I've seen everything in my 64 years, including too many young people who think they are invincible and those innocent of the potential dangers of certain medications, legal or otherwise that they are taking. Just a caution from an oldster who has seen it all.
Seroquel and alcohol is a very bad combination and can lead to blackouts. Any type of drug can interact with another. It completely depends on the person taking the medication. We’re all different.
As a dutch perosn ist so funny for me to see all those unox hats (unos is a brand mostly making soups and things called knackworst. Iconic in the netherlands)
Do they have narcan? People all over California have it you can get it over the counter. Good to have on hand just in case cause this kind of stuff can end a life super fast.
I was wondering about Narcan or Naloxone, also. The lifeguards, with their training, should be able to get a quick medical lesson on the administration of this drug.

@jules666. a lot of the clips are old, and their protocols are outdated. There are a couple of times when they don't do cpr right away and use the air bag instead. So we do have to remember they are lifeguards, not medical professionals, but hopefully, they updated and learned to do cpr right away
He landed feet first, from this height a fracture of the spine is unlikely especially after being stopped by that parking machine and landing on his feet. His compromised airway (being in and out of consciousness and throwing up) is the most dangerous thing for him. The lifeguard decided correctly IMO. Actually I don’t understand why they immobilized him with a collar when he clearly was not conscious the whole time.
The lifeguards during first patient:“It’s way more than alcohol”. They don’t know that. The lifeguards need to call the ambulance immediately in these serious situations. They waste what could be critical minutes. At least get the ambulance en route, then they can ask their questions that they can’t respond to anyway.

First! Love you Bondi recuse and everything the lifeguards do 🤍🩵
You guys are heros but Hoppo and seniors should get 2 things at Bondi
1.Permanent ambulances at bondi for eventuality
2.Drones for south and Rock end.
Such a sad thing to see people nearly die from drug use. Especially, young people. Your work with such cases is admirable. You are true heroes.

i also take seroquel. drinking alcohol on it definitely can black you out like that. it affects everyone differently.

This is why having narcan around is so important. I hope the lifeguards have it now.
@JustAnotherNerdGirl7 Narcan would not have been useful in this situation. It doesn't stop any drug overdose, only opioids and MDMA is not an opioid.
@@kirpat1212 Didn't know that. Thanks for explaining!
The most important thing is to make sure that ther ok
Parents of young teenagers should let them watch this video.
Please bring Jethro and Jesse back! 😢

For real their my favourite we need them
The lifeguards knew what to do.

Naloxone is available over the counter in Australia since 2016.
Narcan and naloxone is for opiates goofies.

Could someone explain to me what the difference is between the Lifeguards and those who wear the red and yellow uniform's?
The people in red and yellow are volunteer Surf Life Savers. Lifeguards, in blue, are rostered on and get paid
@@ajwiltshire4340 Thanks for the information that would explain why they are sponsored by DHL
Also often times Life guards hate the "clubbies" cause they can get in the way of serious rescues

They need to invest in more pulseox and have with each oxygen tank! Best way to get pulse and respirations.
Do they use Narcan in Australia?
No. They use Noloxone which is similar to Narcan. The life guards didn’t seem to have any though…
If someone loses a pulse why aren’t you doing CPR? 🤔
@jules666. a lot of the clips are old, and their protocols are outdated. There are a couple of times when they don't do cpr right away and use the air bag instead. So we do have to remember they are lifeguards, not medical professionals, but hopefully, they updated and learned to do cpr right away
Come down here and show us how its done hero.
On days like this, an ambulance should stay at the beach
The ambulances come from the 2 big public hospitals less than 6 kilometers away, Prince of Wales in Randwick & St Vincents in Darlinghurst.
GHB is not GBH, they made a mistanke 15:15 ish
Why do you guys move him he might have had broken bones 😱😱😱
He landed feet first, from this height a fracture of the spine is unlikely especially after being stopped by that parking machine and landing on his feet. His compromised airway (being in and out of consciousness and throwing up) is the most dangerous thing for him. The lifeguard decided correctly IMO. Airway trumps broken bones...if you don't have air going in and out-the broken bones are not a priority.
Can’t be Jethro, he doesn’t have a west country accent!
Hi
Is there narcan or naloxone in Australia?
Noloxone
Yea those aren't his mates... not at all
do the not have narcan to use?
From what I understand, narcan only works on opioids
no we don't have narcan available apart from hospitals, we aren't the fentanyl capital of the world unlike America
Naloxone is available over the counter in Australia since 2016.
Do they have near an if not why not.they have to get it that is twooverdoses in one day
9r😊
I always get one like🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡😡😡
No narcan?
Narcan only helps when its an Opioid Overdose, MDMA is another Kind of drug

Yall don't use narcan for od?
Yeah they do. Don't know why they didn't show them using it
Naloxone is used for opioid overdose
@@ajwiltshire4340because all of these weren’t opioids which is what narcan is used for and can only help with.
Why should these guys rescue drunks and druggies.
These situations are exactly why I carry naloxone
