You pretty much got the just of what was said Glenn. They also talked about how while most people were not able to do anything this year that it was the opposite for them and how although their plans were all cancelled, they were able to write and create May Day and record/release it. Interviewer had mentioned how she realized, on their previous appearance there, that they were those little girls from the TH-cam covers and how much they've grown and succeeded and how proud she was of them especially because they are local girls from Monterrey.
I was born and raised in Monterrrey, and I have lived here my whole life… And I have always thought that the “thick accents” are those from central and southern México…😂😂😂… It’s not just the host the one with “regio accent”, the Warning girls have it too. It was evident in the video with Band Maid when Ale says “Búrlate de mi, huerca!”… 😂😂😂… It’s means “Make fun of me, you brat!”. “Huerco” is a very common word used in Monterrey for “kid” instead of “niño”, but given that Ale was angry, “brat” fits better…
Great! No había visto esto, gracias Glenn y Adrian! Qué gran versión acústica de Martirio, minimalista pero poderosa. Impresionante Dany! Como siempre. The Warning!
They played in their home town in a local tv channel. Pau was another fan watching her two sisters perform my favorite Spanish song. I hope they release an all Spanish or an unplugged album next. 💜💛💙
Really like this version of Martirio! Pau and Ale were giving each other “looks”, which I sometimes think are “ there she goes again”, and boy do I love it when “she goes again”! Thanks Guys
You got the gist, Glenn. Your spanish surely has improved since you started to follow The Warning. You are right, to learn another language is always good to your brain. It helps you to understand how other cultures see the world, hence to understand the others "as people" instead as mere stereotypes.
*About Mayday EP & TV interviews:* *Interviews:* The Warning did one lip sync performance in a TV studio for a Spanish TV promo. Didn't like that experience & vow never do that again. To compromise for future interviews. The band would play shorter acoustic versions or just do the interview. *Mayday EP:* Lava Records wanted, as well the band, wanted to get on the road. But since reord pressing plants were backlogged due to the shutdown. With The Warning being a low priority band to get their album Error pressed. Lava wanted The Warning to have something to tour on. Lava did an EP of six songs from Error. Physical EP's was available to purchase at the merch table. Other Fun Facts:* The name Mayday was chosen since that was Dany's original pick to call their third album. So yes. Pau & Ale turned down calling the Error album Mayday. Big sis didn't get her way afterall. Plus, according to Pau, original plan for Error was connecting several songs into a theme aka QotMS short story. But on the upside. Mayday gave The Warning their perfect encore song Evolve.
@@glennandadriansrocktalk They never chose to lip sync. When they showed up for their earlier television interview, they came prepared to perform. When they discovered there were no cords for their equipment, they were told that they were supposed to lip sync to their studio recording. They vowed never again!
Not sure if you know the story about recording Martirio. IIRC, DPA had been living in New Jersey and working with David Bendeth and his sound engineers speaking a lot of English. When Dany was laying the vocal track for Martirio her Spanish wasn’t cutting it with her sisters. It sounded too American so they asked her to re-record it. Dany’s vocals just get me to my bones. Not sure what magic it is but it never fails. Acoustic, or anthemic, Martirio is a masterpiece.
Love these stripped down performances by them. For what it's worth, turning on CC to auto translation on your reaction video will provide English subtitles (to the best of its ability)
Outstanding vocals from the incomparable Dany. Just beautiful. Thanks guys, had not seen this one. Appreciate it. BTW, putting on the CC translation for English worked pretty good.
Mayday is just half of ERROR. They released it as an EP because … pandemic 😂. Mucho craziness in those days (something to promote while waiting for things to open up to release the full album. Fun fact: the cover of Mayday was shot when they did the ‘Martirio’ video and is intended to be the image the girl on the cover of ERROR is seeing in her VR goggles. The imaginary world of internet/AI/social media verses the reality of the real world.
you can really hear the thick monterrey(regio) accent from the tv host heh first they talk about coming back to the show after 2 years, the Enter Sandman cover, then they mention the new EP, opening for big bands, going to Welcome to Rockville where Metallica was the headliner. She tells them that even though everything is shut down due to covid, they had kept busy always working, always doing something. that they are proud of them being from monterrey, always repping their hometown.
The interview is pretty much the same we see, nothing new here - they were on the same show 2-3 yrs ago; rock bank, ES cover and eventual blacklist invite; EP came out last week; been playing many festivals; they are 21, 19, and 16; and the host has a very thick “norteña” accent from Monterrey, very proud of these “local” girls (“Regias” - regionamontanas).
I'll never understand why "Martirio" don't nominated for best Latin song.

I can sit and listen to them talk for hours. In english or spanish. It relaxes me.
Que padrísimo!!!!!!!!
Thanks ...
The Warning, the best!!
Viva Mexico ...
Martirio was at a slower tempo but with so much feeling,, lovely,,thanks

So do we!
Dany is giving absolute *Rockstar* in this video. Though I guess that's pretty much always true when she is in performer mode. Adore these ladies.
love the acoustics!
Waiting (im)patiently for TW’s first all acoustic album. Pau has said that at one point she wanted to title the Mayday/Error album, Martirio.
Poor little Paulina didn't have anything in front of her to decimate.

I'm glad they made that choice regarding the interviews!

We'll be doing that later this week!

Thanks, Glenn and Adrian.

An interviewer smaller than Pau! Smiles all round. 😅
Beautifully performed, though audio tech could have improved the integration of Ale.
😘🤩
TW🤟
According to the sub titles, The Warning are quite the accomplished food fighters....lol
