- How are classic car auction prices in the UK right now? Is it a good time to buy? Is there such a thing as a barn find bargain? Have retro Ford prices peaked? Should you sell your classic car at auction? Join UK Barn Finds in our new Hammer Time series, as we take a look at some of the best car auctions the country has to offer and, maybe, answer some of those questions for you. Our first stop is Manor Park Classics in Runcorn, Cheshire.
This auction took place on October 28th, 2023, and featured approximately 130 lots, including retro, classic and vintage cars, as well as motorbikes and, of course, barn find cars!

Manor Park Classics is a purpose-built classic car and motorbike auction facility in the north west of England. Although a relatively new player in the market, their approach to business and the way they treat classic car buyers and sellers speaks volumes. The facility is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgable and their reputation is spreading fast.
Visiting a classic car auction at Manor Park Classics can be a free day out. We'd thoroughly recommend paying them a visit in person. You don't have to register to bid, but it's a good idea to. You might end up spotting a bargain car and snapping it up. You've got to be in it to win it at an auction!

I live 3 miles from this action and have never visited....was my first visit to this same sale....as the lady said....very slick.
In the early 1960s myself and 2 pills borrowed an A30 in Bolton , drove to Edinburgh across to West Coast did the Scots 500 round the top and down to Inverness, across to Skye, back Bolton and on to Angelsey and back. Complet with all camping gear.
All in2 weeks and 1500 miles, the car never blinked once.
I've owned five Sprints over the years and there up there with my favourite cars ever, very special. Biggest regret is I haven't got one now....grrrrrr! Great show again, thanks.

I've been Manor Park Classics right from the start, when Julian left HandH. (By the way, I still watch HandH and all the other classic car auction sites) I think he's fair, does't make a fuss and always try's to get the best price for both sides!
I used to have a 924 many years ago. Wish I kept it, but it needed a lot of work, especially when I lost a timing belt. $3000 to rebuild, that's when I sold it.

Great to see you nice folks enjoying the auction, and to see a couple with a passion about old cars. Looking forward to seeing the progress on the lovely little A30 . My A35 has clutch problems, during the winter I'm dropping the engine and gearbox ( best way through the underside ) then sort the problem and clean and tidy the engine bay. Great cars at the auction 👍

If it had been a local car, maybe! It did seem so cheap. The cost of shipping it back would have bumped the price up, though. The reason for bidding on the Mini was more because we are big Mini fans (we own 3) and that was quite a special little one. We're glad it went to a good home, though.
I thought the Granada estate went for a good price ! The mgb Gt looked to be in good nick for 1100 quid. Looking forward to the next content on the A30. Cheers

The Mini Cooper was my first car it was a 1964 same colour as the one in the auction accept for the stripe I bought it in 1973 for £40 it had only done 38 thousand miles it belonged to my mates uncle who passed away and left it to me because I used to get him things from the shops I painted it red and put a new set of wheels and tyres on it I sold it in 1975 to Oban police rally club wonder what happened to it fantastic wee car 🚗

We still have it and, having witnessed one sell for crazy money at auction recently, I think we need to pull our fingers out and get it finished!

Pretty sure those wheels and seats are not original on a 1964 Mini Cooper.
The seats are original but the wheels are the 10" ' Rostyle ' type fitted purely to early 1275GT models before the run-flat 12" Dunlop Denovo types appeared.
