I hope one day in the far future everything in the "vault" get's an album similar to shenanigans.
i would pay like $100-200 for a special collection set of all the unreleased songs in the vault.
It might be closer than we think, if they follow the pattern (I know I missed out demolicious but it's not really a studio album more a demo collection)

Harry Greenwood it would probably just have the covers and B sides from American idiot like favorite son and too much too soon. Lights out would be there and maybe a studio version of state of shock if we are lucky. Can't see them releasing songs we've never heard like that. All the shenanigans were released on singles from 94-2000
LpJunior537 I’m pretty sure the State Of Shock we have is farthest they went with the recordings. Also, about Shenanigans being all b-sides, I don’t believe Ha Ha You’re Dead was previously released

I feel like Cigarettes and Valentines was never even stolen. I think that they said "fuck it this isn't good enough". Then they decided to start from scratch and create something completely new that they've never done before. Thus American Idiot was made, I really think that a lot of the songs from the trilogy (Missing You, Stay the Night, Brutal Love) and the rare songs that have been played live (Olivia, Minnesota Girl, Dreamcatcher) were originally on Cigarettes and Valentines as well. But that's just what I think though.
Drogon True, but there’s even a part in the Bullet in a Bible DVD where Mike says himself that they got back into band practice and they all said this sucks we know how to have band practice, this isn’t how we want to approach making a new record. So imo I think they decided that all those songs weren’t good enough material and they put them aside. Yes I know it sounds stupid, but if you compare the material from C&V to American Idiot there’s no question that American Idiot wins.

Missing You was definitely written for the Trilogy as you can see in ¡Cautro! Billie Joe recording the demo for it and then showing Mike and speculating about what drum fills Tré might come up with.
Why do I get the feeling that some of the songs on Uno and Tre are the actual songs from cigarettes and valentines while dos was supposed to be the second foxboro hot tubs album?

There’s a lot of scrapped Songs from the trilogy
yeah i think that some songs might have been originally made when they were making cigarettes and valentines and when they were making the trilogy they made new songs and used some of the older songs! and i think that 99 revolution sounds like too much too soon

I think that they threw it in the vault, destroyed most copies, and gave the CD to someone else. If it was stolen it would've been leaked by now.

I heard that the studio masters got stolen, but then recovered. I wonder if there is any truth to that.

I never really knew too much about this since i don't really like American Idiot that much (well i don't mind it i guess) or anything after that album so i never knew about the pre "American Idiot" album either. I guess if they ever get into a big writing slump then they'll pull out some older songs, maybe even from this album, & "give them a facelift" & use some of them.

Those mastertapes are almost certainly sitting in Billie's basement, they were probably like "fuck it lets start over" and just made up an excuse so they can use some of the ideas and stuff in later songs
I don't think we'll ever know the true full tracklist of C&V, simply cuz they made plenty of songs between Warning and American Idiot and even after it, that we don't know when they were written. It's difficult to point the ones made for the album.
