    Very clever and looks great! Thinking about doing this with my outdoor aluminum screened pool enclosure to provide some privacy from the neighbors. Thanks for this great idea!

    Is it possible to get this system in the USA? If so, where?

    Can the channels be used on fence posts? Will any timber that had the right measurements be able to slot in?

    • @meetdiyjack
      @meetdiyjack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi g Man, the Screen Up channels can face-fit or side-fit timber posts. The channels are available to suit 16mm and 19mm timber slats. Learn more here: whitesgroup.com.au/category/landscaping-design/screen-up/

    Does the screen up kit come with the brace included? (To keep the boards straight and aligned) or do you buy them separately?

    • @meetdiyjack
      @meetdiyjack  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      the brace is sold separately; if you're using the freestanding Screen Up, you can use one of the coverstrips (that are included in the pack) as a brace strip

    I'm doing something similar in my backyard for an AC/ pool filter cover. Thanks for the advice and the cool accent!

      I'd like to think that we would but not in the near future - sorry I could not be more specific

    That is amazing, I dont know about for a house but would be kick ass attached to fence posts.

    What are spacers you place between each wood panel.

    • @meetdiyjack
      @meetdiyjack  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the spacers are 20mm plastic and are supplied with the Screen Up product as a kit. You can purchase 10mm spacers separately if you want smaller gaps between slats

    What color did you paint the boards? It looks nice.

      Hi, it was a transparent decking oil which brought the natural colour of the timber.

    Would’nt ya paint the area black first before panelling it up as i can still see ugliness through the gaps

    • @jean-marclabonte2844
      @jean-marclabonte2844 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. Painting the white walls a dark color would have looked much better.

      Also some gaps are bigger than the other.

    Shame about the one odd colour board.

  • @monkeymen3008

    You can already see bowing. That will look shit in couple of mouths. I would not recommend spanding decking boards 3ms that’s from a qualified carpenters point of view

    • @meetdiyjack
      @meetdiyjack  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jackcam, we don't recommend spanning greater than 1.5m. You'll notice in the video at around 2min 20seconds, that Dave is installing bracing strips so the decking boards don't bow.

    • @monkeymen3008
      @monkeymen3008 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whites I watch the video from start to finish. The strips are not connect to the ground there for are doing nothing.why does it looked like it’s bow at the end of the video

    • @meetdiyjack
      @meetdiyjack  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jackcam. I understand what you mean about bowing and have checked with Dave. He tells us that bowing has not yet occurred, and may not as there are three bracing strips, however you never know with timber! Cheers.

      No sh*t Sherlock. That's the point of the video 🤦‍♀ If he had built it correctly previously, why would you need to upload a video? Christ.
