This is outstanding Aaron. Covering Armaf’s perfume can be great of understanding whether these ‘so called’ legendary perfumes actually command such price and attention.
People will continue to buy clones/dupes when companies are reformulating their very expensive fragrances, until they stop doing so, clones are amazing.
This is amazing. Sillage lasts longer than my Silver mountain water. And yes,I can’t explain why but I love this more than my SMW. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me. And the price, it’s a no brainer!
@@intello8953 And honestly it is. Silver mountain water is nectar from the cologne gods. Don’t get me wrong,I will still use the bottle of silver mountain that I have,I gravitate more to Sillage. What goes around comes around. Especially if Armaf does a better job of it. Looking forward to your comparison.
I really respect your honesty specially with the dupes and I can't blame you, you know your stuff and the hard work behind creating perfumes. I appreciate you reviewing clones of perfume houses who (almost always) charge ridiculous prices while reformulating their perfume for the worst. I myself have the originals and their respective clones, casually wear the clones and the original for special occasions.
Love your honesty Aaron :) I'm not a really big fan of dupes, but sometimes that's the only way to have a glimpse of the former glory of those fragrances, although I'm aware of that they probably are not a 100% replica of the original. I'm eager to see your upcoming comparison video 😬
Another great review Aaron. Thank you! I agree with you. If Niche companies will constantly reformulate their perfumes, then there is definitely a chance for other companies to duplicate their work and make it even better with fraction of the price.
I bought the original SMW and I remember spraying 10 times on my clothes and I couldnt smell it… thinking I went Nose blind I asked people around me and no one could smell it unless I shoved my clothes in their nose….. definitely reformulated
@sergioilha9770 Mate, I sprayed Creed SMW at a Creed counter at House of Frasers in Glasgow. I applied 15+ sprays on my skin and clothes and an hour kater I could hardly smell it; 2 hours later I asked my colleagues and they couldn't smell it 2 feet away; and hour kater I asked my fiance and Mum and they both couldn't smell it; and had to sniff my cardigan and shirt by burying their noses in it.

I’d love to see you try Mefisto from Xerjoff as well, as that is often compared to Silver Mountain Water. I think seeing a comparison between this fragrance, Silver Mountain Water and Mefisto would be quite interesting. Great video as always, and keep up the fine work!
Recently acquired Mefisto. Would be interested in the same comparison. To me Mefisto is a grapefruit heavy fragrance that dries down to a light floral scent. Sillage smells like kerosene to me.
I've mentioned this in other video comment sections but this is one of the few clones I own. I have about 20ml left in a decant from a 2016 bottle of Silver Mountain Water. In my estimation, Sillage is definitely a close approximation. I'd say about 85% close...maybe 90% assuming you're smelling it in the air and not showing your face into your skin. For me, there are a few distinguishing characteristics between the two. CdNS opens closer to the OG's drydown of current formulation and kinda stays there longer as it's quite linear which is to be expected. I also get noticeably less blackcurrent in Sillage...less black tea and the sparkle that petitgrain offers in SMW is somewhat there but more subtle and different. Smells like the petitgrain has been replaced by the ginger. The inky note has certainly been toned down as well and dries down more floral to my nose. The clone smells essentially like a more mass-appealing, stable version of the current original to the average nose in my experience. Are there differences? Of course...you'll notice them right away if you know what you're looking for. Does the clone smell close? Absolutely, and will offer better performance for a fraction of the price without having to pay a premium for a more vintage batch. Despite what some little freak says in every SMW video he can find, you will be hard-pressed to distinguish them in the air. In fact, I'd bet 99% of people wouldn't be able to. That being said, I still prefer older batches of Silver Mountain Water. It smells better, a bit more interesting, and performs very well on my skin. If a good deal can be had on a vintage bottle and you enjoy that scent-profile, it's absolutely worth it. Otherwise, don't pay the exorbitant price-tag many often charge for it. Not worth it at all unless you're buying it purely from a collector's standpoint.
I agree with your take on dupes. "If these companies are going to make things weaker and reformulate... while these companies come and do it cheaper... they've got themselves to blame."
My wife bought me the Creed sample pack from John Lewis (£38). Can’t say I was impressed, was expecting to be blown away by the likes of Aventus and Green Irish tweed. Aventus just smelled like lemon cleaning product to me. GIT was like a too strong Coolwater, MI and SMW were meh and disappeared in a couple of hours. I loved original Vetiver, but again it didn’t last long before it was gone from my skin. I certainly wouldn’t pay £295 for 100ml of any Creed product…
I’m with you on this , I think Creed is overrated, I lean towards Xerjoff , Parfums de Marly and Initio, longer lasting and better scents in my opinion 👍
@@Top_Cheeze Sadly they all appear to do this , they gain a reputation and then reduce the strengths , so annoying. I bought Xerjoff 40 knots the other day and that at the moment is a beast.

You cant dupe a fragrance when absolutes are used! Thats why i love the Luxury of using Rose, Oud and vanilla absolute! Crazy expensive raw materials. If my brand ever got taken over by a huge company i assume that would change
I would have loved for creed to just have been great and slightly less expensive, but it is what it is. Sillage happens to be one of the few clones that I cannot differentiate from the original at all.
Creed Royal Oud Aaron! I paid 500 bucks for a 100ml bottle of this epic juice....it's really good!!!Thing is it's now more like 700 a bottle....crazy prices..
Great review. I have a bottle of SMW that's about 5 years old, I'm guessing it's not current formulation but also not original formulation. I've never had problems with strength but then I have pretty oily skin and most scents last well on me. I agree with you, if Creed is no longer making a quality product that lasts, then go for the dupe.
I like to wash with Cremo Silver water (basically sillage soap) and then spray Sillage after toweling on a really hot day. Sillage was made for high heat.
I love seeing this kind of a review! If the big Niche Houses were keeping the quality/performance that got everyone hooked on them, clones/dupes wouldn't be getting as much traction as they are now. I'm new into checking out a lot of fragrances. Especially niche fragrances, but I find myself gravitating towards the clones/dupes over the original more and more. The quality gaps aren't justifying the price gaps. I'd love to see you do more of these with the big clone houses. If you do Club de Nuit Intense Man, please do the Limited Edition version. It skips that lemon pledge opening people talk about. Also Tres Nuit and Amber Oud Carbon Edition would be cool to see your thoughts on compared to Green Irish Tweed. Which are my favorite!
I never get compliments on this one. When I do wear it it's really for my enjoyment. It reminds me of a hot dusty summer afternoon and it starts to rain. That dusty dry water smell is what my nose picks up. So strange that a person would want to smell like that but enjoyable.

When I owned SMW in 2016 it was a good performer, my Sillage is absolutely nuclear! For the price, this is a must if you like SMW. I don’t have the original to compare but definitely getting similar vibes. This is so strong, 2 sprays is more than enough.
Looking forward to the comparison video , silver mountain water is one of my favorite fragrances . It's actually very strong on me from my experience and what people tell me.
I have 2019 creed smw and this.. and yes the dupe is stromger haha. 2019 smw has smooth but damp wet woody smell but it feels higher quality if you sniff at close... but in the air its all same or similar smell.. and dupe is better at that haha
Wearing it this morning , hits hard at the start then backs off. x3 sprays on skin then reapply via travel atomizer hours later. Works really well of some of my clothes👍
Thanks for doing this one… I’ve really been hoping to hear your opinion on a couple of these (this one and Milestone), especially because of all the comments below about it being better and more true to the original. Thank you!
Tried the two side by side. Will say newer formulations of Silver Mountain water and Sillage smell similar, but performance on Sillage is so much better on my skin. Same thing with Milliseme Imperial and Milestone
Thank you Aaron! I so trust your reviews! After hearing your review I simply have to get this for my husband. Btw, I absolutely love your hair. The fringe really brings out your beautiful eyes. 💯!

Not saying it’s a bad fragrance it’s just not for me 🤷🏽♂️ .. Enjoyed your thoughts/review! On a side note can we get some more Hard Candy & Hard Candy Elixir in the U.S. asap please! 🤣🤣
Hello Aaron, thank you for one more beautiful review! Before 1 year I had an 1 ml sample bottle of Sillage and when I first smelled it I didn’t like it at all, after one year I smelled it again and it was amazing, so I decided to buy a full bottle. I bought a batch of 11/2022 and it smells very weak and synthetic. I am wondering if they changed the consistency or the perfume will mature with time and become like the sample I had long time ago… also if something like this happens how can a make the process faster? 🙏🏼
SMW is more sweet and smooth at the opening but after 1hr you can barely smell the difference and Sillage keep his journey for 6 hrs at least. SMW after 6hrs it's just a sweet memory 🤣 Sillage is an outstanding fragrance! Nice review Aaron ❤
I have both and I've AB compared them. SMW is probably my favourite or at the least top 3 Creed, it's stunning. Sillage has an added Rose note not found in SMW which sets them apart. Sillage also has a strong ginger / almost cumin like spice note in the opening that lasts for 5 minutes or so, this can be a touch polarising and slightly harsh but still pleasant. However once sillage drys down it moves into a 90% identical direction to SMW albeit slightly more masculine. Obviously SMW has higher quality materials including Ambergris which gives it a more special je ne sais quoi and is more sparkly. SMW lasts on me for about 6 hours with 1-2hours of moderate projection, so not bad for a freshie. Sillage lasts around 8-10+ hours with 3 hours or solid projection, almost a beast. For the price, Sillage is brilliant and I wear it often to save my SMW. Overall, excellent frag from Armaf and only get SMW if like me you value the quality of it and the special feeling it gives you, otherwise save your money and get Sillage.
Sillage for $29 from Amazon blows away SMW, a bottle I finished a few months ago. Smells exactly the same, but better, if that makes sense. I can say, this clone is better than the original.
I personally prefer the other flanker that they released before this one. Milestone that is a dupe of Creed Millesime Imperial. Would love to know your thoughts on that one. The bottle is better in that one. Well sorta. Have a nice day. 😊👏
Aaron!!! First Thanks 4 the video............I'm surprised that you like this one 🤯🤯........I dig it also!!! My tax bracket wont allow me to buy the original but hay, that's what dupes are 4!!! Keep em coming
Aaron, I hope you don’t take the use of your first name as disrespectful coming from a stranger on the internet, I have to tell you something. I got heavily into fragrances recently. I had been going through a nightmare of a time.( partially physically disabled, father passed away and lost the love of my life) I stumbled down the fragrance rabbit hole because I discovered Jeremy Fragrance. Then that led me to discover Gents Scents. I was looking into Initio Side Effect, and that brought me to your review. While the the spectacle of JF is intriguing, and GS is a lovable every man, you bring something different to the table. Your reviews involve both science and art. The way you convey information is outstanding. Both informative and entertaining. I’m amazed that you don’t have a million subscribers, honestly. I just wanted to thank you for your videos. I’ve found that fragrance transports me to different places, outside of my crippled body and depression, and you have helped me understand how and why it does that. You are greatly appreciated.
Armaf are amazing tbh. So much cheaper than creed etc but so much longer lasting now. I have actual creeds but I prefer armaf now. It’s a no brainer to get it over creed these days.
Better than the original, but the note is that in the 2022 battle is more Bergamont opening smelling very clean and bottle of 2021 is more mellow metal on type opening
Could you get a sample of "Mousse Illuminee" by Rogue Perfumery? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Manuel Cross is the perfumer and has an interesting story.

I sold this one quickly. Gave it couple tries. But it was absolute toilet cleaner to me. It didnt develop for me. I had probably the first batch so I dont know if it got better now.
Most big brands copy other brands as well. There needs to be this level of transparency because I notice you all will hate on club de nuit but won’t trash big brands. Here’s an example- Creed Original Santal is a dupe of Individuel Montblanc. It’s not who does it first but who does it better 🤷♂️
I got this and it’s great. Much stronger than silver mountain water,it’s a beast in comparison. Speaking of beasts, 12 hours into wearing hard candy today and i can still smell it on myself around me. Come on creed, there really are no excuses
@@subii_0 for hard candy or sillage? Tbh they are both as strong as each other and last as long. I’ve got the 10ml hard candy so I’m assuming each spray of that is less than the bigger pressurised bottles. But i do 4 and a half. Two on neck, two on top I’m wearing and half on back of head/neck

My older bottles of SMW smell great , creed has been watered down I feel great review as always Aaron .
Aaron!!! First Thanks 4 the video............I'm surprised that you like this one 🤯🤯........I dig it also!!! My tax bracket wont allow me to buy the original but hay, that's what dupes are 4!!! Keep em coming
Your hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW WOW.........Love It Brother Aaron!!
The hair is going to change over the next two year. Having a skinfade once a week is really taxing! Im enjoying growing it now.
Aaron, I hope you don’t take the use of your first name as disrespectful coming from a stranger on the internet, I have to tell you something. I got heavily into fragrances recently. I had been going through a nightmare of a time.( partially physically disabled, father passed away and lost the love of my life)
I stumbled down the fragrance rabbit hole because I discovered Jeremy Fragrance.
Hi. My absolute pleasure! Thank you for watching!
Armaf are amazing tbh. So much cheaper than creed etc but so much longer lasting now. I have actual creeds but I prefer armaf now. It’s a no brainer to get it over creed these days.
I had a sample of smw really long back and i remembered i loved it!!!! I need to get my hands on this
Pleaaase review ORTO PARISI MEGAMARE!!!
This is really close to smw ...I love this more tho ..because it performs better and last longer...really love CDNS
Sillage and Milestone are both absolutely belting clones of SMW and Millesime Imperial but last way longer than either of the Creeds. 👍👍👍
Hi Aaron
Any chance you could review Missoni Wave please? 🙏
Thank you Aaron.
Hi Aaron!!! Could you do a review on oxygene by Lanvin for men, it was created by Alberto morillas I believe, and I really want to know your thoughts on it, please???
won't say too much, except, Armaf is smashing it!!!
Smw reminded me of my mams hair moose when she was perming her hair in the 90s for a night out
This scent shine in it's drydown.never judge this perfume for first 2hours😏✌️
Lol but why would you wear something that’s not good for a full 2 hours
@@MiamiSammy I am not saying it's not good for 2 hours.all I am saying don't judge it for 2 hours.
It's different right??????
It's smells amazingly good from start to finish but it's shine in dry down😏✌️
If you want the original SMW smell, then spray Sillage first and layer modern SMW on top.
Finally got your Carbon from FragranceUSA. Absolutely amazing scent on its own. Please suggest something else I would like :)
I love Guapo and maverick
@Aaron Terence Hughes are those more masculine. I'm wondering if forbidden or even daddy would be more my speed. Will gardenia blanc ever come back? I never got my nose on it😪
❤
@@isobel64 No Gardinia blanc is gone! At present I am working on some releases for 2024/2025 that will be great. Forbidden and onyx are also great
@@isobel64 I have many of Aaron's creations. These are a few I love. Forbidden, Slut, Hard Candy, HC Elixir. Luckily I have back ups of Goddess/Gardenia Blanc as stunning. Also will be trying next release ☀
I like the look Aaron
I would love to see a Milestone review, because the reformulation of Millesime Imperial reduced the longevity from 2 hours to 30 minutes. Bruh
Review milestone please
Branding idea add Mr in front of the ATH line and call it MATH because that shit adds up bro. Keep up the good work
The opening almost made me dump the bottle. But it definitely opens up very similar to smw.
Lots of these RAW materials you list are also terpenes in the Marijuana plant.
Any update on ur new cardamom based frag looking forward to ur take????
Maybe my nose is broken. People love this fragrance and to me it just smells like good hygiene. I would say that the fragrance is definitely well done but it just smells like a clean person to me. I don't believe there's anything breathtaking about it.
My Signature Scent!
Armaf CDN Iconic next please? You'll be the first perfumer to review that BDC clone if you do so. 😊
Can you please review Frederic Malle Music for a while
We are still missing the comparison video :((
I sold this one quickly. Gave it couple tries. But it was absolute toilet cleaner to me. It didnt develop for me. I had probably the first batch so I dont know if it got better now.
Omg yes same it was probably the worst smelling chemical bomb I've ever smelled! Thought I was the only one lol
Do these budget fragrance dupe reviews more as these are budget friendly
Thing is, Armaf already has a clone of SMW in Derby Club House Blanche, which is outstanding IMO.
I have both Derby and Sillage. The Derby House has nothing on Sillage performance wise.
Beautiful summer fragrance.
Smw vs sillage || aventus vs cdnim limited edition || millisime imperial vs milestone . It will put creed into shame for pricing premium
I got this and it’s great. Much stronger than silver mountain water,it’s a beast in comparison. Speaking of beasts, 12 hours into wearing hard candy today and i can still smell it on myself around me. Come on creed, there really are no excuses
12 hours? how many sprays and where are you spraying - mine barely gets past 1 hour
All the way from kenya here i got this perfume and am selling it
Id love to try your fragrances, Aaron, but the cost to ship to the US is pretty prohibitive for me. Any chance of building up toward an US distribution center to help US customers with shipping? You’re super awesome and thanks for your incredible part in fragrances!

@@nwananka thanks!
Maxaroma and fragranceusa can help you
@@AaronTerenceHughes thank you so much, Aaron!
