Awesome tutorial. Thanks! To anyone looking for "Point Instance", it is now "Instance on Points", you need to drag and drop your object into the Geometry node pane to get the object info then connect it from "Geometry" to "Instance". "Point separate", is also now called "Separate Geometry."

Hello and thanks for this great tutorial ! I struggle with 3.0 to do the point separate... I found a separate geometry node now but can't find a proper solution for the selection input... Do you have any idea ??? thanks again and bravo ! :)
Point Separate became "Separate Geometry" in 3.0, as it lets you do more than just points Here's how I got this part working (bear in mind I'm still learning Geometry Nodes myself) Assuming the same setup as the video, we have: Width: number of X vertices Height: number of Y vertices SizeX: (Width - 1) SizeY: (Height - 1) Initial setup is the same as before, until you get to the point separate part Add a "Separate Geometry" node, with the drop-down set to points * For the Geometry input, use the output of the Transform (rotate X 90 degrees) node For the Selection input: * Add a new Input->Position node * Connect that to a Vector->Separate XYZ * Add a Utilities->Math node to divide the SizeY by 2 * Add a Utilities->Compare Floats * Set the Operation to "Greater Than or Equal", * Connect the "Z" from Separate XYZ to the "A" input * Connect the Math (SizeY/2) to the "B" input * Connect the result from the "Greater Than or Equal" node to the "Selection" input on Separate Geometry The "Selection" output will be the top row, and the "Inverted" will be everything else. Connect these to the "Geometry" inputs on two "Instance on Points" nodes, and add a Join Geometry right before the Group Output to bring them back together

Hello and thanks for this great tutorial ! I struggle with 3.0 to do the point separate... I found a separate geometry node now but can't find a proper solution for the selection input... Do you have any idea ??? thanks again and bravo ! :)
Point Separate became "Separate Geometry" in 3.0, as it lets you do more than just points
Here's how I got this part working (bear in mind I'm still learning Geometry Nodes myself)
Assuming the same setup as the video, we have:
Width: number of X vertices
Height: number of Y vertices
SizeX: (Width - 1)
SizeY: (Height - 1)
Initial setup is the same as before, until you get to the point separate part
Add a "Separate Geometry" node, with the drop-down set to points
* For the Geometry input, use the output of the Transform (rotate X 90 degrees) node
For the Selection input:
* Add a new Input->Position node
* Connect that to a Vector->Separate XYZ
* Add a Utilities->Math node to divide the SizeY by 2
* Add a Utilities->Compare Floats
* Set the Operation to "Greater Than or Equal",
* Connect the "Z" from Separate XYZ to the "A" input
* Connect the Math (SizeY/2) to the "B" input
* Connect the result from the "Greater Than or Equal" node to the "Selection" input on Separate Geometry
The "Selection" output will be the top row, and the "Inverted" will be everything else. Connect these to the "Geometry" inputs on two "Instance on Points" nodes, and add a Join Geometry right before the Group Output to bring them back together
