Oh.my.god. I've just found this channel completely by accident while lookign for info on silver playing and this is just amazing.. plating a FEATHER. I can think of so many things to do this with
After 2 years this little bird finally had its glory. Hope everyone of you like it. Sadly, this bird is not gonna fly anymore, but our imagination can always do. Anyway I'm very happy with the result.
I love the result, amazing work! May I ask how you prepared the bird skull? I've electroformed all kinds of organics but for some reason I'm afraid the bath will destroy bone/horn, which also would contaminate the bath. I have a similar skull here but it is the only one I was able to find so far and am scared to ruin it.
@@s.v.6830 Thank you for your comment!!! And YES!!! The bath will destroy bones and horns. You need to protect them with some sort of plastic material. The one easy to find is nail polish. You can use solvent base varnish or flatting, resin of any kind. Just don't use water base products. My conductive paint is solvent base. I just dip any organic in it directly so I don't need to protect them.
@@cuforming Thank you so much for clearing that up! I'll try to prepare/mazerate some chicken bones and try your method/tips on those, before I dare to put the skull in, though haha Looking forward to seeing more of your works!
@@s.v.6830 also if you don't want to cover part of the bone/horn with copper, liquid latex is commonly used for that purpose. I use it in this video to cover lapis lazuli... check it out: th-cam.com/video/uvdQhZ98fxM/w-d-xo.html

@@cuforming you inspired me to track down and buy a pen electroplater (a mini brush). I had no idea they existed and I've been making things for years! Thank you so much for your channel.
@@clairestrickland5140 I got super happy when someone tells me that I inspired to make something. It has no price. In this case, you also are inspiring me somehow, because I've never done brush plating and I think I gonna try it. Thank you!!!🥰🥰🥰
@@cuforming oh of course! I saw your channel, got inspired, found a scientist guy on TH-cam who brush plated. Googled, found 2 suppliers in the UK! I'll find the links for you 😊
Ciao
Thanks to all my subscribers!!!💞💞

Io l'ho fatto in cartoncino, per il mio cosplay di Felix Iskandar Escellun... Ma devo dire che non rende allo stesso modo. 😅

Quanto alla faccenda "modella", grazie per il complimento. 😊
