- Just a quick video of a beautiful Barbel caught on rolling meat a couple of weeks ago. Was an amazing scrap to land her from a classic Barbel swim.

My favourite swim,when I use to fish the river 20 years ago.
It was big roach and chub back then.
Hi mate, yeah this is one awesome spot... Loads of Barbel about here last few years.... There is still some belting Roach in this stretch but they take some catching..... Very clever fish them...

Good to see you off the mark with that stunning barbel. Lovely colour on it. I’ve not tried rolling meat yet but I’ve thinking of giving it a bash soon.
Cheers mate, yeah finally got one out lol. Rolling meat is a great method to entice the Barbel out from the cover of the trees. Give it a go mate. Out for an evening session this week so hopefully more to come.. you been lately? Thanks for watching again pal 👍🎣
@@yorkshireriverrover7199 I’m hoping to get out after work on Thursday. I’ve only been once since I had the double two weeks ago. Managed a chub, a roach and a bream before the rain made me head home after two hours. Can’t wait to get back out again mate.

Nice, me and a mate fished that peg around same time this video was filmed and we had 6 between us in 3 hour and i managed one on the fly.

I've never tried rolling meat for barbel but I might give it a try after watching this. Do you feel the bites or do you need to be able to see the fish ? I usually rely on a feeder packed with halibut pellets, fishmeal groundbait and an oil attractant with hair rigged pellet or boilie.
It deffo worth a try mate, Barbel love a moving bait.. I was feeling for the bites with the line in one hand.. feeder tip helps too as it shows the bites better.. I spotted a couple of Barbel feeding under the tree so I knew they were there... thanks for watching pal 👍🎣

Just one thing, it would have been great for you to demonstrate the rig and technique? Possibly in a future vid? Tight lines! 😊

That fish was mint. Proper scrap in the shallows, It looked a lot smaller in the water but when it was on the bank it was a bit of a shock. My turn next pal. I can't have a barbeless season

Nice one. A bit hair-raising trying to get barbel of that size out of a little river like that. Bet it didn't need to go far o find a snag.
