Reminds me of The Slip which I always considered one of Trent's more underrated works and that sound works really well with Halsey's writing and voice. This is a supreme collab!

The entirety of the first verse is literally "You were red, and you liked me cuz I was blue. Then you touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky, then you decided purple just wasn't for you" in another words and I think this is so beautiful. I love all the little callbacks to previous albums, being them intentional or not, just because it shows a progression of the person, the artist and the art. Best album yet, and I'm a whore for the 3 before this one.

This song is what got Halsey into my library. The aggression, the slow crescendoing bridge, the great lyrics, and super catchy beat mean I can listen to it no matter my mood and it always gives me a boost of energy
I’ve waited so patiently for this new album. Just so happened to be the day after my birthday. 💜 It's been such a rough journey the last several years and Halsey’s music has gotten me through some of the darkest times. It's like she knew exactly what I was going through. My son knows her music so well that when he heard me listening to it, without him even knowing it was her, he asked is that Halsey?! 💜🌸 I will forever have respect for her and her masterpieces.

Their production is all over each song and they really cared to make each song feel important and not just filler. They care about the art.

It's strange because I would actually consider myself a really independent person and I avoided love for my whole life. Love, especially an unrequited one, is painful and one thing I learned from this experience was losing someone is infact easier than trying to convince myself that they love me.
