Maybe the high water pressure causes enough kinetic shock that it weakens the bonds between the slime's structure and allows it to become diluted as regular water seeps inside. By spraying the slime, it gets rid of it. But perhaps regular rain just seeps into the slime slowly and causes it to become MORE slime somehow.
