I came across the documentary recently & was very moved by these 2 men, their loving relationship & their supportive friends. It would be a great doco to show to high school students. I hope that Shane is travelling OK, and has love in his life.

I watched the documentary 4 months ago and I'm still watching it and still saddens me, I mean, they were really happy and cute together, they had it all and it all vanished in one blink, love like this shouldn't be hidden or being afraid of anything or anybody, the lesson this leaves us is to always feel proud of our feelings for our beloved ones.

This is lovely. I watched the documentary and it ripped my heart out. I don't understand how Tom's family could fail to understand the depth of the love that Tom and Shane had for each other and how important Shane was to their son. I hope that someday they understand. Sometimes the realization that you were wrong comes over time and sometimes it strikes all at once. Social progress is often slow, but I feel like we're making progress. We just have to make sure not to let it go backwards.

Shane I am so sorry for your loss. I just recently heard of this movie as I was relating a situation to a friend of mine similar to this and he told me I had to view this...broke my heart. I had a friend whos partner was much longer and they had been together secretly for five years. The younger became ill AIDS and when he passed away my friend was forbidden to view him or come to the funereal. The day of the funereal he slipped into the back of the Church quietly but the Grandmother saw him and screamed "get him out of this church" he killed my Grandson..
