I saw a Megadeth concert right after I came home from Afghanistan. I had VIP meet and greet tickets and at the Meet and Greet Dave invited back to the bands rehearsal space and personally thanked me. He even cracked a beer for me and thanked me for my service. He hugged me on the way out too. The dude is genuine.
hahaha... he hugged me. ? It was a manly hug though. LoL.

I wanna believe this, but him cracking a beer ruins it for me because of him quitting alcohol and drugs. I know I wouldn't do that being clean

I wonder if Dave ran into Marty, I heard they were both at the show? It's amazing to me how many of my favorite guitarists almost played in Megadeth, like Jeff Waters and Dime. Dave always surrounded himself with great players, including himself of course, that's what I love about Megadeth. Dave's influenced more metal bands than we can imagine.

I hand nerve damage in my picking hand and was super glueing picks to my fingers to play, couldn't play heavy for a long time. One quick 40min surgery and it's all better

I've always dug Dave Mustaines "realness" He is who he is and doesn't give a crap what you think of it. Rock on, brother.
A million questions missed about this guitar via a bad interviewer. Let me interview Dave. Why the change to flame maple after years of mainly (not always though) playing solid color guitars. What made him choose a "boat" style jack for input on the side (great idea btw) When he designed the VMNT and came out with double inlays what made him choose a double inlay pattern etc etc. Love Dave, Love Megadeth, but bad interviewer.
Theses needs to be answered.
Metal Sanaz bad interviewer? o.O Dude srsly?
I know that for a musician or for some one who isn't exactly a musician, but can play a guitar and is well introduced to techniques as well as the hardware part of what makes a guitar, those are indeed intriguing(except the color change more or less), but as it is true that you don't need to play an instrument or be a musical expert to be able to enjoy and appreciate music, it's also true that the majority of the world have no idea how to play a guitar let alone to understand half of how those stuff matters. So even if she might've missed a few points, you should give her credit for the points she didn't miss. An interview is much more complex thing than it looks like and I really doubt that you can find s/o else even a renowned guitar player, who would do a better job than Sanaz.
And Dave using non-solid colored guitars ain't nothing new, nor he used then so "mainly". Even if that was what he preferred 90% of time, he has played from album illustrated guitars(especially the last decade) to wood or other kind of palette/textures not so far from occasionally through the years.

Let's say Rebecca does better than Sanaz, still imo it's hard to say that she sucks.
That being said, no one send or landed Sanaz there, she may there way there by her self. That's why she is Metal Sanaz and why she has those interviews possible. No one has stopped Dirks from interviewing, so that's irrelevant whether Sanaz would or would not interview Dave. It's a free world, as far as Mustaine and Megadeth goes. He wouldn't declined an interview has Dirks wanted or had the opportunity. You gotta take into account that eventhou they are sitting there talking nicely, they don't have all day for that and there isn't enough time for a hundred let alone million questions, my opinion is that even if you think it might've been better, from objective point of view I don't think it was a bad interview. That's all.

I guess it is also irrelevant that Sanaz "landed or sent" herself there either. Just watch the interview again, she has nothing to ask. Just my view of the interview but other than trying to be a pretty face holding a mic, it was like watching someone who has no idea about guitars interview a guy who is there to talk about his guitars. It is NAMM afterall ;) I see all your points. I just disagree with the interviewers skills.

Right when 2008 came around he drastically aged. He never physically aged until then and when it did, it him him hard.

Thanks Dave. I Really appreciate your statement on people with disabilities. I have CP and I also work for people with developmental disabilities. It warms my cold metallic heart to hear that you routinely go out of your way to help people.
And I totally agree about veterans. Everything we have is attributed to them. They are the reason why we have so much to be thankful for.

How did I secure your freedom? You must ask that question, and you must answer it.
Mustaine writes and sings the song "Peace Sells." Does he honestly listen to his own lyrics? It is about the Military Industrial Complex. Exactly what General Butler wrote about in '35. A standing army is unconstitutional. It violates Article I, Section 8. We have not declared war since '41. That also violates Article I, Section 8. Dave wrote a song "We The People." Again, Dave are you paying attention?
As a vet, I do appreciate your accolades. However, when was the last time we declared and waged war according to Rule of Law? When was the honest last time we declared and waged a Just War? We have a lot of blood on our hands. We will pay a very just price for our sins. Perhaps that is what we are witnessing before our very own eyes.
Read www.veteranstoday.com/ on a daily basis. Do learn to comprehend what is really at stake here. It is not just our liberties. It is our very souls.

I wonder what company told Dave that they leave it up to the artists to setup their own guitars. I know that he played ESP after he left Jackson, but I wonder if it was another company that he turned down before he started endorsing ESP. Because ESP is a great company and I heard that they take care of their artists, especially a well known artist like Dave Mustaine.

It's true, I had a Washburn DIME STEALTH guitar. The neck was super thin & my fingers were cramped up on the fret board. I wound up selling it as a result.

I had a hard time watching this.....Dave is a fucking saint to be interviewed by this drunk chick. Maybe they know each other and it was "all good", but seriously, it's unprofessional. I bet she had hot liquor breath breathing all over him...Just what we wanted to see Dean....
Nice guitars but really miss a top-lock and Fine-tuner. I really couldn't play a concert with a guitar without them tbh. But then again I can't switch every song haha. Just not that rich :(. So I have to tune myself and my experience with the strings through body is that they detune faster. And stopping to tune after every song is meh. So personally I wouldn't use these guitars even though they look great and most likely sound great too. As for people complaining about the interview sheesh. I had no trouble with it. She doesn't have to ask much because it is about guitars so just let Dave do most of the talking, that's way more important. Instead of trying to control the interview she just let it roll naturally and it has more of a "2 people at home on a couch chatting about guitars" feel. Not every interview has to be "professional and choreographed".
