I remember playing hours and hours of RBI Baseball. I loved it. There were only 2 problems with it: 1) It had the mercy rule, and 2) Starting pitchers tired quickly so it was hard to get to the 6th-7th inning with one. Much less get a complete game.
Dude, how in the hell did you do this. Absolutely fan-frikken-tastic. This is my favorite video game of all time. My buddies and I, now in our 30's, still put together tourneys. No game has ever come close to the fantastic game play that this game has. It's just legendary.
Impressive. Brilliant work. And it combines to of my favorite things ever: R.B.I. Baseball and the '86 Series. Side note to R.B.I.: I love the quirks of old games like that. Accidentally throwing to a base with nobody covering the bag. The boink! of an error. The occasional "home run" that actually passes through the wall at the foul pole. Etc. I don't think I've ever again laughed as hard as I used to when playing this game with my friends. Marathon sessions on the NES.
This was excellent. i watched the whole thing. Videogame designers need to see this. even the games nowadays dont have the feel of a good broadcast. this could be some great research.
Vin Scully is the greatest baseball announcer I have ever heard in my lifetime. I know that Jack Brickhouse and Red Barber were great in their day, but Vin had a way to tell a story to the audience.
that one call always gives me chills when i hear it-"little roller up along first, behind the bag!! it gets thru buckner!! here comes knight and the mets win it!!"
That was awesome. Now if I can only find a vid of RBI Baseball's Mark McGuire clouting one up into the center field atmosphere, so high the tops of the flags just slowly drop out of view.
Good job being almost perfectly historically accurate. The exceptions were only on the location of certain pitches. those that were outside that should have been inside. Excellent Job!
I found a used book some months ago that was published in 2003 and included BoSox fans among those who suffer with their always unsuccessful team...almost prophetic.
i was 11 years old ling in millington tennessee as an on the fence mets fan but i officially jumped on the mets bandwagon for a couple of years that night haha, played the nintendo game after that
anyone that puts a little research into the 1986 Sox will find that Bill Buckner was stricken with many knee and leg injuries. Normally, Buckner would be replaced with a younger, healthier 1st baseman in he late innings(in close games), but was chosen to stay put. That critical error was one of many that was not only obvious, but preventable.
This IS great! How did you do this??? In RBI Mitchell is on SF's team. Was just wondering how this was set up and placed in sync with game 6. Very nice work!
I don't know how you guys pulled this off. I have RBI baseball, but K. Mitch is on the shitty ass giants. This was real cool. I'm glad you guys did this.
well, nbc didnt know that the red sox were going to lose, because when they announced the mvp of the game, boston was up 5 to 3 late in the bottom of the tenth inning
The only thing that didn't seem "the same" from the actual footage was in here the ball didnt go "through buckner" like it was supposed to, that would have been impossible to do anyway, but this clip is still the best NES game reenactment of a great sports play.
Is this actual game footage, or is it animated using the game sprites? If it's game footage,I'm interested in knowing how many takes it took to get it right.
wow. i feel very stupid. i thought the commentary was part of the game. i was thinking wow the game audio was so much better in 1986 than in 2012 haha.
One feat will not stamp your ticket to the Hall of Fame. By that standard, Joe Carter and Aaron Boone will likely make it, too. Yes, the home run was his most recognized accomplishment, but he did a lot more than that.
Thanks for the memories. The 1986 World Series was one of the most memorable ones of all time.
My dad and I used to play this game all the time....Oh how I treasure the memories. Thank you.
This is one of my favorite videos of all time. I watched it so many times the past few years. Good job.
This is one of the best videos on TH-cam.
All my respect about this creations. Excelent video, always go on with the narrative
Even though I'm a Yankee fan, I still think this is one of the most awesome gaming videoes ever made!
That picture of Marty Barrett always cracks me up!
This is the best video game video I have ever seen.
This is one of the best videos on TH-cam!
this is probably the greatest video in the history of youtube. and im a yankee fan. bravo!
Excellent job. I love the "Player of the game" touch you added during the game... gave me a good chuckle. :)
One of my very first baseball memories is of this game. That video was just freakin awesome!

THIS IS INCREDIBLE. u are a genius for doing this. i miss that game soo much.
I remember being 10 years old watching this game. This was very well done.
Greatest sports video EVER!
Great work man, you put a lot of time into that.
I'm a Yankee fan but this NEVER gets old.
Bravo to whoever made this.

Great Video pitch by pitch and Buckner's error was by chance I remember playing this game
Vin Scully is the greatest baseball announcer I have ever heard in my lifetime. I know that Jack Brickhouse and Red Barber were great in their day, but Vin had a way to tell a story to the audience.

Jesus thats pretty good. This guy should produce films
Picked this game up for a dollar today. It's pretty much the greatest game ever...
PROBABLY THE BEST BASEBALL GAME EVER
This is adorable. Nice job
This. Is. AWESOME.
Player of the Game Shot was brilliant.
Well done
that one call always gives me chills when i hear it-"little roller up along first, behind the bag!! it gets thru buckner!! here comes knight and the mets win it!!"
This is perfect! I mean perfect! Best video!
great work i really liked that
As great as it was over 21 years ago. BRAVO
Someone should do this for game 6 of the 2011 World Series. Holy crap was that incredible.
25 years today. never forget.
That was awesome. Now if I can only find a vid of RBI Baseball's Mark McGuire clouting one up into the center field atmosphere, so high the tops of the flags just slowly drop out of view.
that part made me laugh out loud too. really a creative and brilliant video. well done to those who made it.
Guao Perfect job! Perfect video! finaly I could see what happenned that day XD
RBI baseball! That is a bookmark on my computer. So addicting!
How painful it is to relive this moment...
Great Job@@
Wow. That had me laughing! I was an RBI fanatic and can appreciate this one big time
An astonishing accomplishment that sets a new high water mark in machinima. I hope MLB does not squelch this incredible video.
Good job being almost perfectly historically accurate. The exceptions were only on the location of certain pitches. those that were outside that should have been inside. Excellent Job!

hey you guys this game rocks i used to play it back in 96
that is the funniest video i have ever seen.. cudos on the player of the game spot too!
this was awesome. hot post
Marty Barrett player of the game was the best piece.
Best game ever
This IS great! How did you do this??? In RBI Mitchell is on SF's team. Was just wondering how this was set up and placed in sync with game 6. Very nice work!
One of my worst childhood memories being portrayed by one of my childhood favorites! Oh the drama
lol, Miller Lite player of the game Marty Barrett. Great vid!
No kidding. That was frustrating that they hauled ass once out and not trying to be safe.
dude this is awesome, how'd u do it?
I don't know how you guys pulled this off. I have RBI baseball, but K. Mitch is on the shitty ass giants. This was real cool. I'm glad you guys did this.
awesome.. how long did that take to make?
thumbs up if u saw that they ran faster when they got out
Brilliance
Very well played!
I, wow. You just used RBI Baseball as part of the tribute. That is amazing.
this must have taken forever, to get the foul balls and hits all perfect
i can just hear the music.... doon, doon, dah doon... doon, doon, dah doon....
Joe and Evan brought me here
when did they talk about it
Loved rbi game
That was awesome... really well done! lol
XD i love the background audio
That Wilson AB is just brutal. 2304251093 foul balls, a pass ball, then a little roller. Ugh...
that was entertaining. good job
@sparkydog75 Preach it, brother. I agree 100% with each sentence.
You all know this guy isn't gonna listen because this video was posted 10 years ago when youtube started? Did any of you notice that?
Would love to see you do this with the 1988 world series game and Gibby's homerun--that would be awesome
I can't believe you got this right on the button.
wellll doneeee
The video commentary is actually pretty good for being this old.
pretty cool
BEHIND THE BAG AND THE METS WIN IT !!!!
well, nbc didnt know that the red sox were going to lose, because when they announced the mvp of the game, boston was up 5 to 3 late in the bottom of the tenth inning
The real game didn't have that many strikeouts but the video maker probably had to control both teams and get K's to setup the scenario properly.
for sure
This is really freaky. That Buckner things off but, how the heck can you get the perfect. 99% Awesome.
well done
Ray knight (Broadcaster for nationals)
Is it just me that thinks the commentating is better here than on the newer games?
I can only imagine what Sox fans must have been thinking when first Crter and then Mitchell got those hits.
Hey- works fr me. ;)
Let's go Mets!

Vin Scully with the call.
