From what I've been seeing of Max he's just learning a lot of these things about video games. because it's a lot about fighting video games he does not know or didn't know a few years ago.
Whoa, imagine the reverse of leverless...levers only...so you'd basically have two flight sticks, each with two levered hats where the index and thumb fire triggers would be...so you get SIX eight way sticks to customize...lol...
14:45 The Dead or Alive movie was the only movie on the list that was self-aware of how bad it was and as a result was actually kind of entertaining and funny in a bad B-movie way
trivia: Tekken 1 did have a sidestep... but to my knowledge, only Heihachi was able to do it. You could perform it by pressing back twice and then tapping a third time before the backstep was completed. I remember him being able to do that because it was the only way to ever escape that bloody infinite that Lee had.
Audience scores are wicked sus because you don't even have to google, you can change your choice after seeing which one is correct. At least I seem to remember it, maybe that is just for other polls though.
Yesssss, does this mean another round of trivia videos are inbound? I love your quiz series' and watched every video last time. I expect Max to do very well.
21:35 Average Fighting Game Enjoyer: Arcade Stick Hardcore Fighting Game Player: Leverless Controller Tron Bonne, Gaming Connoisseur: Levers Only Controller
I would add Deadpool to the list of button pressers, technically, because of his teleport. The teleport is not a natural ability of his, he does it by pushing a button on his belt. Which is also why when you teleport 3 times, you blow up. The belt malfunctions. I know the character model in-game stands still when he does the BAMF!, but its activated by a button press. On the subject of covert button pressers, maybe I'd put Spider-Man there, too. While some moments in Parker's history he has developed organic webbing, most of his time as Spider-Man is used with a device that shoots webs with the press of a button under his gloves. But while we can't know for certain if this version of spidey uses organic webs or not, I think it's a safe bet that he doesn't and therefore, presses a button to shoot his webs.
I remember _not hating_ the Tekken movie mostly because it has the single best casting choice in cinematic history with Latif Crowder as Eddy, even if he does get jobbed hard.
I'd argue that Deadpool does press a button during his teleport, as he puts his hands on his hips, and when the teleporter breaks, you can see the explosion originating from his waist (Though it may just be how the VFX are rendered), indicating a device attached to his hip...so it's one of those indirect ones...but I really love the question...I was originally thinking about which characters had "Mashing" moves like Honda's hand slap where you would press buttons during the move, but JM took it in a whole other direction...
On whether or not the DOA movie came to theaters: it totally did! My friend and I went to see it and there were only like three other people at the showing. All of us being high school boys, because of course haha.
Yeah, we know teleportation is not one of his innate skills, and the fact that his teleporter breaks means it has to be tech with some kind of activation mechanism...I always thought that's what he was doing when he puts his hands on his hips and poses when he teleports, he's actually pressing the button to activate his teleporter...
So about the DOA movie. It has some good moments. Most of them come from legendary wrestler Kevin Nash playing Bass. You know how some actors can bring even a crap movie up a notch. Kevin is one of those guys. He can’t save DOA but he at least makes some of it worth watching.
Jmcrofts’ enthusiasm for fighting games is so contagious. I’ve played competitive smash bros locally for almost a decade but started trying to branch out into traditional fighters because he makes them look so fun
Fun fact: The Commodore 64 version of Street Fighter 2 was essentially the "goodbye" for the C64 as a game system. It's the last major release for the platform after over ten years as a games machine. It's obviously terrible, but not for lack of trying - the aging hardware just clearly never had a chance in hell of getting a faithful version of such a cutting edge game. Same goes for the ZX Spectrum port.
I don't watch fighting games back then but once max is streaming any fighting games he's the only one i can watch even if he's on the training mode for 3-4 hours i still get entertained he's the one who pushed me to try fighting games i started playing a lot of fighting games ever since i discovered him, his passion really starts a spark. ❤
SF6 JMpardy needs to be a thing! I loved the trivia, I would have taken it more seriously had I known we'd be up against Max though :) The bonus question was really hard, good job coming up with that. If I hadn't already subscribed to Max, this video would have totally sold me, dood!
I initially thought the same, but after JM revealed his review of evidence, I suspect the chair houses an internal pressure plate of some kind instead due to the lack of a visible button.
Max and you are both legends thanks for the video you guys rock dudes!! I have been a sub of max before I found your channel and I love the fight chat keep up the great work guys ❤.
The DOA movie is nice. Has a much more going for it than the other entries imo lol.

Something I would actually love to see: Do a fg trivia show with some guests who are not actually involved in fgs at all. People like Brennan Lee Mulligan, Brian David Gilbert, etc (I'm making assumptions here about their fg experience, but you get what I mean). Can kind of pitch it as, "Let's see who can be the least wrong about fgs."
To be fair, the DoA movie had a dumb plot and some blatant core values, but surprisingly decent fights. All three aspects are right on brand with the franchise in my book.
I still remember unlocking all the extra characters in Tekken 1 with my high school class-mate on his PS1. I think you needed to complete the game without any lost matches with Kazuya to unlock Heihachi 🤔
The C64 community was (and still is) pretty insane in that respect. It's like a reverse Doom situation, where getting any game ported to it is taken as a challenge.
Only one I lucky guessed right is the Jaguar 64 port. I figured programmers would absolutely try challenging themselves with things like C64 ports and DOS, but Jaguar offers no such bragging rights. Figured it never got a port because nobody bought one.
Max is a friggin historian...mans really knowledgeable and it shows.

Would love for jmcrofts to make a guest appearance on Triple K.O.
Been wanting this since they started the series.
I hope they feature more FGC guests like Jmcroft, Brian F and Sajam. I’d love to see more of the content creators collab like that.
@@phsquared1000 I think a sajam one would be so dope.
I love the trio guys but they all just kinda love and know the Same games
He should replace McMuscles tbh
@@jsegarra144I honestly don't think so
Two legends collide and one challenges the other to a trivia. Sounds like a stupendously great fighting game rivalry AND plot if I’m being honest.
"Tron Bonne has levers only"
Tron Bonne confirmed to be a Hurtbox main

Max is my fav gaming personality. Super chill with fans and does it for the love of the gaming culture

This would be even better if youtube didnt allow the audience to change their answers 😅
Or not look up the answers.

His polls were actually set up where whatever you voted you were locked in on that youtube channel/account.

I'm pretty sure Max drops deepcut FGC trivia on his sleep exhales.
if max ever gets hector salamanca'd he's gonna use an arcade stick instead of a bell lmao
Technically, Spider-Man is pressing a button when shooting web.
that's what i was wondering for the entirety of that question: "does the trigger on Spidey's web shooter count as a button?"
trivia: Tekken 1 did have a sidestep... but to my knowledge, only Heihachi was able to do it. You could perform it by pressing back twice and then tapping a third time before the backstep was completed. I remember him being able to do that because it was the only way to ever escape that bloody infinite that Lee had.
What sort of BS is that
@@coomcharger6105 the infinite or the sidestep? Because the answer to both is "yes"
did Kaz get his misstep in T2? I always thought he had mist step
Now I need FFVII Trivia with Max, including questions from the future, because I have no doubt he would know.
Deadpool presses a button on his belt when he teleports
It's called a shutter BUTTON, Max! You can't argue that one.
100% agree. It is literally a shutter button being pressed; there is nothing else it could be.
The thumbnail. Max looks like he walked into something he wasn't ready for.😂
This was a really good episode! I'd love to see majinobama on one of these, I think he'd make a really good guest
Audience scores are wicked sus because you don't even have to google, you can change your choice after seeing which one is correct. At least I seem to remember it, maybe that is just for other polls though.
You are correct which low-key defeats the purpose of the vid. Max needs payback! Lol

All right! I love Max and jmcrofts both, seeing them together makes this a GOOD day.

"HOLD IT!" Phoenix Wright presses buttons on a cell phone, as does Wesker!
Oh! And Chris presses a button to speak into his earpiece.
These aren't attacks
has max ever done a 'max and X vs the world' with jcrofts? would be interesting to see one AND which game they'd pick
This would be a good video idea to celebrate when DBFZ finally gets rollback
The D.O.A. movie is actually fun as hell tho. It revels in it's own stupidity, and the fights are actually pretty good.
These are soo fun, great to see the game show platform after a long hiatus. Awesome content JM!! 🙌🙌

Melee was actually at Evo 2007, with best of 1 matches hahaha

The only two fighting game streamers I watch doing a thing together, love it.
I knew Max was knowledgeable but damn. This surprised me! I was happy I was able to keep up....to a degree?
This was awesome, huge amount of initiative knowledge from Max. Well done Dood
Spider-Man presses a button anytime he uses his web-shooters. Deadpool has a button on his utility belt whenever he teleports or fail to teleport.
I feel like people who didn't choose Strider had partly saw Max's Ultimate Assist Me Episode and saw Benny come out as Strider's Assist.
Spider-man canonically pushes a button for his web shooters. It is under the glove.
Ask Max about the 3D era of MK and he's finished 🤣🤣🤣🤣
All I'm saying is that Tekken 2010 was WILD.
On whether or not the DOA movie came to theaters: it totally did! My friend and I went to see it and there were only like three other people at the showing. All of us being high school boys, because of course haha.
Future men of culture
I thought Deadpool would be one of those obscure button pressers. His teleport is either a button or a switch and I was banking on it being a button

2 of my favorite FGC guys! This was a lot of fun. Lord Knight seems like a pretty smart guy too, wonder how well he would do?
C. Viper has a button on her shoes as well for when its flame kick super time
Love seeing my two favourite fighting game TH-camrs making collabs!
I guessed correctly on the EVO question just because "Mario Kart DS" seemed too outlandish to be something made up for the quizz.
Awesome, i was just thinking recently it'd been a hot minute since we had a JMpardy or whatnot. Love this stuff!
Erm Spidermans webshooters have buttons thats why he does the hand sign
8:40 the way Max says that Batsu appeared in Tatsuko vs Capcom *ONE* made me sadder than I thought it would 😭
I always love the trivia games, Jeopardy, etc. I know it's hard to come up with good questions, but keep up the great work!

Doom level 3 slams his hand down on the button on the chair surely?
I initially thought the same, but after JM revealed his review of evidence, I suspect the chair houses an internal pressure plate of some kind instead due to the lack of a visible button.
21:10 I would argue that Dr. Doom also pushes a button during his Level 3, when he slaps the arm of his chair to make the torture chamber explode.

Oh the memories of the whole family, mom and dad us four kids playing bowling tournaments with Tekken Tag 1.
i think modok was the only button presser i guessed bc i remember spamming the analyze cube when playing as him sometimes

Yooo, knowing that all those community polls and stuff have been for this is really dope, I love knowing that I accidentally participated in this lmao

Doctor Doom absolutely presses a button on his chair at the end of his level 3.
I still remember unlocking all the extra characters in Tekken 1 with my high school class-mate on his PS1.

The fact that there's a C64 port of Street Fighter 2 blows my mind. I had to go look it up just now (and it's as janky as you'd expect lol)
The C64 community was (and still is) pretty insane in that respect. It's like a reverse Doom situation, where getting any game ported to it is taken as a challenge.
i was right about modok pressing a button, but only because i remembered it wrong and thought he did it with dr. doom's animation.
