i think its nice how manufacturers are making bikes you can use for both off-road and motocross. Great video on the WR 450. I am a double amputee riding a YFZ 450 quad, I wish yamaha would make something for the quad to adjust the mapping to elimenate the lean fuel/air mixture instead of having to buy aftermarket devices.
Rode a stock 2017 WR450F in Johnson Valley and was hands down the most fun I've had on a dirtbike off road. Perfect suspension for grinding out sandy woop sections and still very stable and plush. Gearing was perfect out there. Bike really inspires confidence even to a novice rider.
I come from a motocross background and brought one of these about 2 months ago. And what a bike it is! I love it! But some of the things youve said i agree 100 percent. When i took it on the track the suspension kept bottoming so it took a good while to get the suspension working stiffer, the way it goes round corners is a dream you just feel planted all the way round! As for the engine it does have a bog where the bottom end should be it actually feels more like a fast 250. But im not sure if i prefer the mellow power because it gives me confidence to just thrape shit out of it and i end up taking seconds off my lap times... overall id recommend this bike to any one! Great bike
You make a good point with the mellow power giving a rider more confidence. Definitely a lot easier to control the WR than a hopped up YZF especially if you struggle with some arm pump. Thanks for your input 👍🏻
Did you find the weight was an issue at all? I have a yz250f and am learning on a sand mx track but want to start doing bush riding and small adventure trips. Really thinking about the wr450f
On the stock forks I turn the compression all the way in when riding the track. It’s not ideal but gets me through the day. On the shock I go 4 clicks stiffer than my trail setting and speed up the rebound a little bit.
I’m running the stock mapping. The 2019 WR 450 doesn’t come with the adjustable mapping. I’m probably going to get the GYTR upgrade though. It would be nice to run a more aggressive set up on the track. Where do you ride yours mainly track or trail?
Nice video man! Love the Yammi! I subscribed! do you mind giving a look at our channel? we do crazy pitbike videos, and we also have fun with fireworks! Thanks man!

Glad to hear you are enjoying the WR 👍🏻
@@SocalOffroadSchool Amazing bike but it was just a tester! Family has a pair of CRF450L's now fully decked out. Incredible bikes.

I hit the sub button simply for this video. Keep it coming. Great stuff
Does it do hard enduro as well as it tracks?
I’ll take it into some rock sections soon to cover the bike in some really hard Enduro terrain.
@@SocalOffroadSchool awesome. Look forward to seeing that. Too many people feel you have to have a 2 stroke for hard enduro
This is brilliant! 🔥
Thanks Stevo 👍🏻
yep really great video. I just bought the wrf 450 2022. could you give me the suspension settings when you rode on the motocross field?🙏🏻😁

Would a 2004 version of this bike still have the clicker adjustments for the suspension?
I’m not sure but would think that the suspension is different
Good video
Thank You 👍🏻
Good video 👍
wow
Hey great vid. I have a 2018, can you compare with a 2019/2020?
Did you remove throttle block?
What mapping had you on the bike while on this dirt track
Would you like to share it ?
I have a 2018 one

Bike is not to heavier? 120 Kg? Compared to KTM / Husqvarna
De-restrict it and slap an FMF pipe on you'll feel the difference.
