    Alex I learn more in under 15 minutes about something that scared a lifetime me from attempting a job like this. You made it look so freaking simple and SAFE!!! Let me ask you a question, So this suspension can be adjusted at the track per wheel if needed with just a jack , few hand tools and/or pit crew?? Great Vid man!! The car is looking so KooL!

    • @AlexPerrucci
      @AlexPerrucci  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yes it can be adjusted by just jacking the car up and playing with the collars.

    I’m a bit torn on the whole separate preload and height adjustment. Keith at Flyin Miata has explained that this type of coilover on Miatas have extremely short suspension damper travel. With a full length shock where the spring perch directly adjusts ride height, the full range of damper travel is retained.

    Those coilovers certainly give your Miata an awesome stance, I hope I can get mine to look like that one day soon. 👍🏽😎

    Is the spring supposed to move be able to move up and down after adjusting? Lol mine able to move about a inch

    • @AlexPerrucci
      @AlexPerrucci  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you drop the spring perch down that much the spring will move at droop. Once you put the car on the ground it will compress and won’t be loose like that.

    How to decide which brand to buy? I'm looking for coilovers for my NB, and I was pretty sure I was going to get Tein Flex Z but then I saw BC Racing ones and Auto Fortunes and now I see another ones in your video, how the heck can I decide which is the way to go?
    I need something for street use (and veeeery ocassional amateur track attempts), that is adjustable so it can be stock ride height. Budget is not my concern, I need something to fill my needs with decent quality, I don't want to overpay of course but if it's worth to pay more I will.

    • @AlexPerrucci
      @AlexPerrucci  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can’t go wrong with any of the ones you listed imo. Tein Flex Z would be a great choice for street/occasional track. Fortune Auto is also very nice if it’s in your budget. I’ve enjoyed my Megan’s on the street and wouldn’t hesitate to track them.

    • @EricJergs
      @EricJergs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reiterating Alex here, I've tracked my Civic on Tein Flex Z's a couple times along with multiple autocross events and they've been great. I'm sure Megans would perform similarly. There is definitely better stuff out there, but they get the job done as a multi-purpose coilover.

    By any chance are your fenders rolled and how did you do it ? I'm thinking of lowering mine too but I don't know if its worth buying a fender roller for one use or just cutting slits into the inner fender and massaging it with a hammer and heat gun haha Also were you planning on removing fender liners?

    • @AlexPerrucci
      @AlexPerrucci  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rear fenders are rolled. I’m a pretty big fan of the cut a slit, and hammer method haha, that’s what I did on this. I usually remove liners but probably won’t on this. If it was a little lower I probably would.

    I bought the extreme low bc racing coilovers and the destroy or die drop knuckes with the upper and lower arms front and rear and I actually had to raise the coilovers because i couldn’t drive my Miata anywhere 😕

    • @AlexPerrucci
      @AlexPerrucci  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dang hahaha thats awesome. If I was to do this again I would probably go with BC extreme low or some of the others that are better suited for really low setups. But we're actually just running these coils temporarily before they go on a buddies Miata.
