And the capping factor as to why season 4 is one of my favorites. This episode is a rollercoaster of emotions with amazing animation and great development on Endeavor who is such a complex character. Glad you guys enjoyed this one. Yeah season 4 can debatably have some up and down moments personally I found only like 1-2 episodes that I'm kinda meh on but otherwise, between Overhaul arc and the slice of life school festival and ending with this fight I just love this season. Now season 5... It's worth it, but I'm curious what you guys are gunna think. Seeing Shoto nearly collapsed in with all his friends surrounding him is such a great shot.
I want you to think about how messed up it is that his WIFE has no idea how his mind works. His external pressures. What makes him tick. Endeavor’s problems as a person all come from his refusal to be vulnerable. But when you do that, sooner or later you explode. And that’s what the catalyst was for screwing up his family. Rei Todoroki does still love Endeavor. I have no doubts. She’s scared of him of course, but if she didn’t love him, she would divorce him and move elsewhere. But she stays in this hospital with hopes to return. She WANTS this family. Endeavor included. She doesn’t throw out his flower presents. And Endeavor is worried sick about her AND his children. Not just Shoto. But he just can’t show it because his emotional capacity is so low. If we didn’t see Endeavor’s mindset ourselves, we would never forgive him. But because we know he WANTS to change let’s us know there truly is hope for this family. Rei Todoroki had every reason to stay in this mental institution. Her demons were just as compressed as Endeavor’s. She is just as at fault for situations as he was. Even with him as the main catalyst. SHE never let herself be vulnerable either. Never verbalizing her issues. The ONLY time she did was the ONE time Endeavor struck her as he trained Shoto. She got to a point where she feared her child for LOOKING like him. And permanently scarred him as a result. The reason she didn’t leave is because she felt she didn’t deserve to be around her children. Ten years of working through the pain actually feels like it fits. Also just some fun facts, Endeavor’s fire is approximately 2,000°F to cut so effortlessly through the skyscraper. That’s around the melting point of your average skyscraper materials. And his flaming suplex was approximately 5,000° as he stacked his normal heat with atmosphere reentry. Just a freaking COMET. (I have learned recently that the heat is accurate for the melting point, but after learning of a move that is ACTUALLY as hot as a nuke, his temp is actually somewhere in the millions for his moves to disintegrate things to that level. Not the thousands. I’m going to assume 10’s of millions. Which…holy crap.) And if you ever feel worried about what heroes can survive, just remember Endeavor fell from the freaking STRATOSPHERE without breaking his legs. Not everyone can do that obviously but that’s a pretty good metric to show close to being indestructible. (I say stratosphere because any higher, and there would be no oxygen to fuel his fire. Or at least not enough in the upper atmosphere.) Also the ending impact was Mach 25. Just…holy crap the lengths this man has trained himself. I wish I could measure Hawks top speed and intricacies, but I can’t quite nail it down. He’s at LEAST Mach 10 or so in the high speed jet range. I’ll just let his power speak for itself. Endeavor’s efforts of breeding children were because he ALWAYS wants to protect people but never felt like he could go long enough unlike All-Might’s OFA endlessly at maximum strength. Todoroki can quite literally use his quirk 24/7 if he so chooses. (Provided the stamina training) He wants people CONSTANTLY protected. It’s what makes him a terrible father, but a FANTASTIC hero. And even his family knows he’s a fantastic hero. None of the siblings can deny that. Or desire to interfere with that. If they wanted him off the street, they’d tell the world what he did to his family. Endeavor as a hero has been accepted. But not quite Enji Todoroki. (His real name. His personal life.) I want you to remember these words because I’m going to say them A LOT going forward. Only a victim can forgive an aggressor. By the way…just imagine this about the Nomu encountered. Gigantomachia is the strongest Nomu. This freak is NOT AFO’s strongest piece. And unfortunately, Endeavor can never replace OFA. The Nomu king is beyond him. Deku will have to take the spot of number 1 as a necessity to ever stop the top forces of AFO. Because the only thing that can stop AFO is OFA and that will never cease to be fact from the simple fact both have charged for 200 years and NOTHING ELSE. (Maybe rewind, but Eri is a child. If she were a full grown adult, she’d straight up be both of their weakness.) But Endeavor can finally rest easy that he can finally protect the country on his terms for a time. And we also got the answer as to what happened in the Shinso battle. Deku touched the 1st holder…and the window exploded. That’s how he broke free of Shinso the brainwashing kid ALL that time ago. Why this is happening we will just have to see…next season.
@@SardonicVida I think the term “little ones” used by a certain character discards that because of who the “big one” is actually referring to. A minion stuffed with multiple quirks for AFO and essentially acts only on order is a Nomu. Free thinking and being alive don’t appear as much separation anymore. And a melted skull doesn’t appear to be necessary either.
In case you forgot, cause a lot of people do by this point, All For One had a younger brother, and One For All was created when he gave his younger brother a stockpiling quirk. The combination of the energy stockpiling quirk and the younger brothers quirk, which could be transferred, created One For All, which can be transferred and has the ability to stockpile power and energy from each wielder. The two you saw in the vision was All For One and his younger brother. It was showing the moment he gave his younger brother that quirk. The moment One For All was first created.
I'll admit, I honestly still hate Endeavor’s guts, and I really don't expect that to change any time soon. But still, he totally earned this win. He also earned that scar. But that’s a whole other can of worms. 😅
Yea that’s the thing about endeavor they make a character that you’re supposed to hate but when they do cool shit it’s hard to hate them endeavor is honestly one of the most realistic characters written in this show
@@rorschach5184 I will admit though, the further on I get and the more that happens, the less he works and the easier he is to hate. But I’m getting ahead of myself. 😅
I feel like most stories would've had Endeavor be this really toxic guy, have him do this one epic fight and die, but as he's dying, his family would forgive him. So glad that's not what Horikoshi decided to go with. Endeavor was a horrible parent, but he also was the only one actively trying to catch up to All Might. He was the only one who didn't just give a sigh of relief and leave everything to All Might. He kept trying. And we see now that he's trying to become better. He's acknowledging his mistakes. Does that mean his family has to forgive him? No. Endeavor could do a million good deeds for the world and it would still be his family's right to never want to talk to him after everything he's done. But even if his family hates him, even if the public doubts him, he's still going to give it his all. Although, it's crazy to think that Dabi casually released a creature that was so powerful it nearly took out the Number One hero. We haven't seen the League in a while. Shigaraki did say it was "their turn" now. Guess he kept his word.
Probably up there with my favorite episodes of the series! Never expected a big fight before the end of the season and he had a few death scares. To have a wife beater/child abuser being one of the most hated(I still hated him at the start of the episode😒) and turn him around as one who is trying to redeem himself & learning through his wrong doings & fight for his life and to protect others.. to the point where I was crying just seeing him still standing in the end 😢🥺😂 He went to one of my favorite heroes in 30min lol and that's just amazing writing/animation. Seeing those he hurt(Shoto, his mom, & siblings) going through their emotions as well really added the necessary weight to this episode too. Also, Hawks is great too and what's going on with Deku??👀😏 2 more seasons until you're caught up and I think you'll really enjoy them! Awesome reaction as always!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Endeavor's success as the new Number One is also inspiration for other heroes. The heroes became too complacent due to the invincible god-like presence of All Might. But Endeavor reminded everyone that even a "normal" person can rise to that rank.
I'll always have a soft spot for this episode. Tbh, it takes me back to the time that I really liked Enji's character. I just found out about this channel and I'm definitely looking forward to the season 5 reactions
Watching that Gentle Criminal crap week to week while this season was airing was brutal. But Eri's smile made up for it. And Endeavor's stand was AWESOME!
What a glorious episode. Endeavour came out blazing to earn that number 1 spot in people's heart. Def a great episode to transition to the next arc.
I did not think he had a redemption arc in him. What a great episode.
@@KalElCanFly His redemption arc was slow but the process has started.
