    I appreciate you taking the time to produce the very informative videos. I have the Daikin class time and available courses under my belt but still learning every day on the vrv systems. Again you are much appreciated.

    I'm in a new building with 145 small units that need to be controlled 24/7. Temperatures are going into the 40's at night and up to 60 during the day. We have 20 master controllers throughout the building. Of course one side of the building gets hot in the morning and in the other side gets hot. I want all thermostats to respond to the temperature in the room and maintain a 70-72 degree temp. If I set up the schedule on each master with one scheduled setting of say, 7am, On, cool to 70, heat to 72, will all of the navs connected to the masters follow that schedule? Or do I have to set all of the navs to that same schedule? If I have to set all of them, do I have to set the masters first or does it matter? Thank you!

      I would need more info to help. Model of equipment installed for example. Is it vrv or mini splits. Is it heat pump or heat recovery if vrv. Is there an itm. Things like that.
      Anything with a master stat means that the master stat controls mode. Everything else just gets setpoint variation.

    Why I can not turn the nav on after test complete? It shows restricted because of central control. I use one nav for 6 indoor unit and onevoutdooe vrv.

      Most likely t1t2 being used and the contact closure is forcing it off. You need to change the field settings if using t1t2. Could also be from an itm central controller or a variety of other central controllers. But usually right after test operstion it happens from t1t2 being used.

    Hey thank you for the video. I have 3 units with 2 of them "master controlled" exactly as you described in the video. Is there any way to turn off this master control paradigm? I want my units to exist independently.

    • @InverterAlways
      @InverterAlways  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not on a heat pump. You can move which one is the master, but the heat pump needs a master to dictate mode of operation. The others have their own setpoint but must follow the master.

    I would never allow my Nav to say 78 degrees. If it did in the summer, I would go to the movies. If it did in the winter, I would file for divorce.

      @@InverterAlways Dana, is there a way to set the upper limit on the Nav? My simple wife thinks it’s a gas pedal, the harder she pushes it the faster it gets there, then she forgets to turn it down. I get home and it’s 80 degrees and the electric meter starts looking like the national debt.

      To be honest I haven't used some of those super old models. However, most of the time commercial systems may have some sort of central controller which could be why you're locked out. Or if it's a heat pump (not heat recovery) then maybe you simply just need to locate the master stat. I am not sure which one it would be though I would recommend having a tech nearby stop by to help and take a look, I wouldn't want to steer you the wrong way.

    One Nav controller scenario I haven't come across on IA or the Nav BRC1E73 manual is: If I have 1 outdoor unit and 4 indoor units (FXSQ), each with its own Nav except one... which will have two Navs in a Master/Sub-Remote arrangement... (1) is that a valid arrangement? If so, (2) it means that only one of those two Master/Sub-Remote Navs can ever be the outdoor unit's change-over Master controller. Correct?

    • @InverterAlways
      @InverterAlways  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do this if you want. Though what is the reason for connecting 2 controllers to one of the indoor units? This is extremely rare. That indoor will have a main and sub, both can change setpoint and what not. The master controller that has mode control is totally separate though. You'll need to choose one stat from the whole system if it's vrvs or a vrv heat pump. On heat pumps and vrvs one of the fxsq controllers will be the master. It can be any of them you choose. On heat recovery each fxsq would be it's own master. At that point your main sub arrangement of 2 controllers is still the same. Where you're basically putting one at each end of the room for easier access I guess. You can change whatever you want from the main screen. Just can't get much from the menus.

    • @rcnthusiast
      @rcnthusiast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@InverterAlways Thank you, Dana. Short answer: 2 reasons and yes, access is one of them. (1) This particular indoor unit serves two bedrooms. There may be long periods of time where one bedroom is vacant. Would rather have some control available in both rooms rather than regretting not having that option later on. (2) I expect one room to be the more dominant cooling load during summer and the other room the more dominant heating load during winter.... at least until the trees have 5-10 years of growth on them. But now I am wondering if the sub remote's temperature sensor is even used in determining indoor unit load? Anyway, I didn't realize this arrangement would be so unique, until I acquired the manuals and looked for examples. The FXSQ manual kind of hints at it but the example is applied with group control, unfortunately, and the remote/sub is at the last (largest ID#) unit. The Nav installation manual instructions for identifying the sub remote are almost the same as selecting the master change-over, except the mode button is held for at least 4 seconds at the sub remote after error code U5 appears. I missed that distinction earlier. Guess I will just plan for it and see how it works.

    • @InverterAlways
      @InverterAlways  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rcnthusiast are you trying to set the unit with two remotes as the master? It'll be confusing for the homeowner just fyi. Regardless, only the main stat will use its sensor if you set field settings to use the stat sensor at all. Otherwise you can use return air. The sub remote is mostly designed only to change setpoint. But the setpoint change affects both stats. So when you change the sub remote to 73 for example the main also changes to 73. You'd be better off putting a single stat in the hall between the two rooms and using return from both rooms. Set field setting to use return air sensor for temp control. Done. Easy.
      Or use Two smaller indoor units altogether.
      I get it. If you have an unoccupied room you want fast control, just not giving them much here.
      Regarding setting the master controller that's done via mode button. To change the main sub you do this in service settings. It will be very easy for the end user to confuse these two however. And should someone get into the wrong setting on the indoor that only has one stat you're done. Stuck as sub forever until you manually add another stat and reset them super carefully so that when you power cycle it off to remove the second one both are mains.
      Just opening up a can of worms here is all.

    • @rcnthusiast
      @rcnthusiast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@InverterAlways Thank you, Dana. Yes, I was under the impression the sub would have unique temp settings to those of the master. So... It's going to be a huge pain if there's ever an issue because you have no way to tell what system is in error it shuts it all down. Would recommend having one stat per system here. Likely you have an issue on one of the systems and that's causing the stat to be master controller for all of the 5.

      Is it a 3 phase reyq outdoor unit with branch box or multiple branch boxes? In this case each stat is it's own master because each box port acts like a mini heat pump, allowing heat or cool from each port. So if you have this type of system usually most all of the stats will be blank at the top meaning they are all their own masters. If you press mode, does it allow you to change the mode?
