It would be cool if the tractors had cameras on them that could steer the tractor inline with the silage row. Like an adaptive auto steer

Yes. Could also run it based off of where the windrower travelled, Deere has this thing called auto path that tracks the path of your planter so your combine and such can follow the rows exactly. Perhaps something similar could be done on the windrower for this.
