    It’s cheap. And you get a good looking, safe drive that will take you from A to B. And if you service it on time - it will never let you down.
    Did I mention it was cheap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to insure and cheap to fill up…
    And the best thing - it doesn’t look cheap.
    I like it.

    All of these British reviewers not mentioning it is extremely beautiful hatch, probably the most beautiful one. Way more attractive than the plain golf. Only the megane can rival it...

    • @pedromonteiro1126

      Yes, the real truth. I think the Megane is the only rival to it too.

      AKdsad100 - British reviewers unfortunately review with their snob hats on. The average UK car journo is a Clarkson wannabe faux luxury lifestyler with middle class pretentions. Unless the car has a soft plastic interior it's crap.

    • @MrSherhi
      @MrSherhi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I think it also has the biggest boot out of all hatchbacks, most of them have 300-380l while tipo has 440 (and thats noticeable difference)

    • @jonharris6923
      @jonharris6923 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I feel the same, yes the interior is a little plain but it's inoffensive and not unattractive. Externally I think it looks gorgeous and the chrome trim rather than looking tacky adds an air of French chic about it, if you squint a bit. I can only put it's lack of sales in the UK down to people rather beggaring themselves on a PCP scheme to get a more 'cool' car rather than buying these great cars and saving themselves thousands. Buy now while they're uncool.

    I have a top of the range and am very happy with it. It does drive well and I drive from London to Plymouth in it from time to time and find it very comfortable. The Entertainment screen, I agree is small but not difficult or fiddly to use. As I said, I am very happy with it.

    I have the 1.6 diesel lounge and I think it is a great car. yes, there is plastic and lots of it but when I was looking for a new car there is loads out there with just as much plastic and a lot more expensive too. if you are looking for a car around the £16k-£18k this is worth a test drive.

    Thank you for the fair and honest review. I am tired of hearing reviews bash Fiats. I see these lists of the worst cars and they put Fiat at the bottom yet you watch ACTUAL long term owners (videos) of the fiat 500 and they have close to 100,000 miles and say they barely have any repair costs. However I know American/German/and Korean car brand owners pay high repair costs often. Brands that are supposedly high on lists of best reliability.

    1.4 120bhp S-Design here. What can I say, it’s an awesome car, full of kit and the spec is far higher than any other in its class for a bargain price new at £14k.... The new infotainment system with car play is awesome, big screen great sound and does everything you want it to. Ride is nippy and smooth, agree with road noise but that due to the awesome 18inch alloys it has on it. In a bit shel, it’s a huge car, looks great, interior isn’t bad and it’s nearly 8k cheaper than the high spec rivals. I personally would recommend the S-Design to anyone with the price tag I paid

    Looking through the comments section hurts. This is ment to be a daily driver not a weekend rocket... All the complaints about how daily life is a after though with fiat, they give you what you want and you pull a 360.
    I actually love the look of the Tipo and would buy one in a heart beat but then I guess that's just my opinion and since you are not buying it for me you should not care how I spend my money.

    well my father have the new focus 2016 1.0 petrol with 100 hp and I have the tipo 1.6 diesel with 120 hp when people say the focus is better is only in the driving part but is not that better I am not doing rally driving every day so is the same the ford handles better I can do faster corners but my tyres will pay the price so for me A to B is good they are both quiet on the road but on the tipo you get a little wind noise on the mirror but in the ford is the same but is a little bit less that in the tipo but that is it the advantage if the ford stops here... plastics ford was it to even in the doors soft in the top of the dash solid in the bottom this is the reason this type if car is "cheap" . economy I have drive as well a focus 1.5 tdci is the same if not worse a engine with 15000 km space in focus is a shame the boot is as big a fiesta a little bigger but not that much rear seats is for two people almost touching the roof and to finish the gps what the hell ford did with sync a shame bad very bad my father have a tom tom for the navigation he never uses the gps of car because is very bad and the system is very confuse I notice that in UK you have the 5 touchscreen i admit it suck but i have the 7 touchscreen and is the best you can have really very simple good to use and system is strait forward the interior of tipo is very simple few buttons everything is in front of you is a simple car cheap, good economy, comfortable to drive and a lot of space I look to the ford focus and for the fiat tipo and a I choose the tipo any day .A lot of video reviews say tipo is not that great but the car is a brand new one and is suppose to be cheap but offers much more standard equipment and better case of the Fiat unconnect Gps.... Greetings form Portugal

    Great review. I think it's really smart. I take on board everything said about its absolute quality and driving dynamics, but I've had an Fiat for eight years and it's been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. What puts me off is the safety ratings.

    • @MrSherhi
      @MrSherhi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      6 years ago it would have gotten 5 stars in EURO NCAP...if you buy safety package with speed limiter and emergency braking system it goes from 3 starts to 4...its a crazy time of various gadgets that detect pedestrians etc, these things improve car´s crash test ratings...inside you are pretty safe in almost all modern cars made in past 10 years

    Emission-free transportation technologies have been available for mass production for over 25 years, but without the needed infrastructure. Cars - affordable for the general public - with engines of about 1 litre fuel consumption, or cars with real water-using engines have been ready for production for over 2 decades now. These high-tech prototypes were successfully tested in countries like Canada, USA, Australia, Norway, England, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Poland, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Israel, China, India, South Korea and Japan. We should already be manufacturing 35-40 million emission-free vehicles annually, and H2O engine systems should have been producing energy instead of our fossil-based and nuclear power plants. Entire technological documentations of such technologies have vanished in the EU`s Institute for Innovation and Technology, and, according to the legislation in order, it is right to be so. The expense involved in the production of such technologies is half of that of the traditional engines, they weigh about 70% less, and they can provide a huge torque. Their working range can be several thousand miles, cars could weigh 200 kg less, and their price could be 3-4000 Euros less. Segments of nearly the entire car industry secretly have the prototypes and successful tests. At the present moment we are poisoning our environment just out of mere arrogance and greed. We live in a cheap and indecent world. I firmly claim that we simply shouldn`t lie to 7 billion people, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. This information is entirely true and I hold myself accountable for its validity.
    Sincerely, Istvan Gazso, inventor

    for a company thats almost broke...and needs to steal, beg and hustle to get a range of cars together.....its not wrong to focus on Brazil, India, Turkey and China for its mainstream efforts.
    Just dont expect and class leadership and dont compare it to a Mazda or Golf. The nearest competitor is Suzuki Baleno.
    Basic value...something Daewoo and Kia promised 10 years ago.....and have moved on since.
    Now that vacant space is ready to be occupied by Fiat, ahead of Tata and Geely.

The problem in my country si, that it is just slightly cheaper (say 1k gbp) in higher specifications which almost noone will go for. They will rather dig deeper in their pockets.

    Its a great looking hatchback which is a shame that no reviewers mention this.
    Its comfortable, practical and has loads of features for the price.
    Its never missed a beat after 3 years.
    My ONLY complaint is the engine is very underpowered for the weight of this car. But in fairness I did buy the less powerful of the two petrols so.... my bad. On the whole though the less power is only an issue when going up steep hills or trying to do a quick overtake. It won't blow your socks off, but it'll get you from A - B comfortably, and it'll look good doing it.

      @@vandanabindal254 Fiat might be cheap, my family has owned a 1.2 punto for the past 15 years, not a problem, normal maintenance as always. And if Fiat are also really easy and cheap to fix! Hope he's having great fun with his 500x or Tipo

      You're not leaving much hope for the Tipo then, it's a very competitive family hatchback market.Value wise though, this could be a great option.

      With the 7 inch gps the dashboard looks a LOT better. But besides that, some things in the interior could have a better design too.

      Pedro Monteiro - if by "better design" you mean more German looking? No thanks.

    This car is so characterless. It's amazing to think that an Italian brand can make such a dull car.

    The 1.4 t jet is a peach of an engine. Under 3k is an around town cruiser, above the 3k mark it goes impressively. Great turbo punch, but on turbo you can watch the fuel gauge going down when you bury your foot. Not hot hatch material, but fun
