- Directv will soon be launching My free DirecTV. The service will offer many free ad supported channels. The FAST content continues to grow in the industry. Directv will now have their free Free ad supported content separate from the live TV pay channels. Check out the video for more details on this new service from DirecTV. No. There are plenty of free channels already out there. Now if they add skinny pay channel packages like Sling that may be worth looking at.

I did a video on the FAST channel I most want to see. I can't believe no one has created a DC Comics FAST channel (or any superhero FAST channel for that matti). The problem is they all want to put the same FAST channels on every app, but WB should do Hanna Barbera, Scooby Doo, DC Comics, and more that would be unique. That being said, I'll definitely be checking this app out...
Sounds like a good idea. There is still plenty of time for these companies to create more content options. It's good to see more FAST options popping up. This will spawn more creativity and give us all more options. As long as there are products to sell there will be advertisers paying for it. 😉
@@CFL-TECH I don't know why they aren't creating more original programming FAST channels, not brand new shows, just a theme that no one else is doing. I will never understand how such a simple and obvious idea is being completely overlooked...
I just left directv stream for youtube tv because of the price hike. Directv wanted 140 bucks just for tv and that is why I left.
I used to have regular satelite Direct t.v, but they kept raising the prices. I was ablke to negotiate a better deal for short term, but then it kept going up. I have Dish Network since over 4 or v5 years, but thjey also raised prices recently. I agree a 140 bucks is a lot.
You definitely saved some money with that move. We sometimes don't realize that we can get by with less channels until we try it. 😉
Exact same story here, that last 9 dollar price hike was all I could stand, have more channels and services and still paying 30 less.
I will check it out when it happens.
Another fast fight with sling's freestream like directv is dish
When they say ad supported, what they mean is ad infested with a break every 2 minutes that is 30 seconds to a minute long and can’t be skipped.
We either pay for a premium service SVOD like Netflix and some others with no ads or we go with the free ad supported options. Someone has to pay for the ads. For sure there are some apps that overdue the ads a bit more than others. Also how the ads are presented can make a difference. Some good news is the more FAST options there are they will get feedback. Also competition should make them all better.

A little competition and choices for customers can't hurt. It also makes each company become more creative which can mean the services can become better and better. 😉

So its gonna have all the crop of free channels that everyone else has with every device available currently. 😂
It for sure will have some of the same content that's on other FAST options. It's what's available for the segment. What is good about multiple services offering similar content, this could cause some creativity and offer more options that may be unique to a platform. We'll see what happens. Also it doesn't cost a penny to watch FAST content. Sure there are ads but it keeps the viewers wallet closed should they only want free streaming options.
