Kamado Joe Big Block Charcoal Review

  • This is a video review of Kamado Joe Big Block Charcoal. The lumps are very large. The bag says Worlds Largest, not sure if that is true but it says it on the label.
    When you go to the Kamado Joe web site they list the wood used as a blend of of hardwood - Guayacan, Guayaibi, Mistal, and White Quebracho.
    I have reviewed Quebracho before, so make sure you check out the B&B and Jealous Devil reviews as well for comparison.
    Tools I used:
    Thermoworks IRK-2
    www.thermowork...
    Grill Grates
    PK Grills
    Thanks for watching!

    Good video! This lump is my favorite to use in my Weber Summit Charcoal, I think for Kamado grills the large lumps work really well, especially for low and slow, long cooks. I really like how it doesn't pop and spit sparks like other brands do, it's really clean!

      Yea I have to get some and do some cooks with it. The Fogo burns good in my Kamado Joe, and of all the ones I tried I like Fogo best. But I also want to try Jelous Devil.

    Okay Thanks. Was wondering why I didn't get the notice, checked the bell, and now I will get all.
    I appreciate this video. Personally I like Fogo super premium. I have a Kamado Joe Big Joe III, so when using that I don't use a chimney, because the Big Joe has a fire basket, so I fill the basket, then light, so maybe that would make a difference. Anyway thanks for doing this.

I recallled your B&B / Royal Oak comparison......I couldn't grab that last brown bag fast enough!! Keep Flying Smoke and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

    Great video as usual. Thank you. I remember when you did the Kingsford briquette review, it went over 700 degrees. I thought lump burns hotter, but usually the lump in your videos isn’t as hot as the Kingsford. Why is that?

    • @FLYINGSMOKE
      @FLYINGSMOKE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes it depends on the grill the ambient temp or most times it has to do with how much charcoal you use

    • @odom2142
      @odom2142 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FLYINGSMOKE If I wanted the highest possible temp for searing, would it be better to use more charcoal or less? Less would mean better airflow so I thought a thinner layer of charcoal placed close to the food would be hottest. Is that right?
