And regarding the Halo: I don't think it decides if it's bearer is worthy by following a set of morals that humans would consider "good" (or it probably wouldn't work for Adriel). It also had no problem with Mother Superion being overconfident or using her powers against Shannon. Instead, it left her as soon as SHE was convinced she souldn't bear it anymore.

The thing I've been wondering since this episode is was Lilith passed over twice for the halo? We saw in the very 1st episode that they need a special tool for handling it, and it can't be exposed for too long or the Tarasks will show up. So when it unexpectedly rejects Mother Superion, while they're on mission, is that how Shannon ended up with it? Like she wasn't next in line at that point, she was just the nearest nun to it at the time? I vaguely remember Mary saying something to Lilith in s1 too about her having a bad reaction to Shannon getting it. Would make a lot of sense for Lilith's storyline if Ava getting the halo was the second time it happened to her.
I honestly like Michael a lot and I think his story is so tragic because he's spent his entire life being manipulated by higher powers, first Adriel then Rhea, and he's been brainwashed into thinking his entire purpose in this world is so die. He never got to have a normal life or make his own choices and that makes me so sad
It's so cruel that Simon made us dislike/hate Mother Superion in S1, and then like her in the S1 finale, and love her in S2 cause we got to really know her and she's such a badass and a sweetheart, to fucking kill her :D

God is Raya, and Adriel is Lucifer. Lilith was taken by the gatekeepers, but she was denied entrance to heaven, like she was rejected from the portal. Lilith was envious, and jealous, and self-centered, and unworthy. So, Lilith went to hell where she was enhanced and sent back to earth, to join Adriel. She is totally brainwashed. Can she find redemption? So, this means the portal is a gate to heaven, and this is why Adriel showed Michael how to build it. He desperately wants to be God. Of course, Michael is the archangel Michael, who was sent to earth to help save mankind. And btw, Satan Adriel) and God (Raya) are evenly matched, but stealing Raya's prayers empowers Adriel.
