What a wonderful piece! Because the composer is a pianist she has written a piano part that is on equal footing with the winds and not merely accompaniment. And the writing for the winds includes powerful unisons at times while also featuring extended solo passages, allowing each voice to shine. It is at times intimate chamber music and at other times almost symphonic. An exciting performance of a terrific new piece! Bravi tutti!
