No there were plenty of positive tweets about Mal in general and book Mal they could have found. I was in a Mal stan group chat before the show. And the tweet calling him "scum" is actually way back in 2018. So they went back to look for very old disrespctful tweets instead of finding the good ones. Or have a positive one about Archies's casting. It wasnt even a mixed bag they gave him all negative ones. It wasnt done well

I don’t get why ppl hate Mal so much, I thought he was a pretty cool guy like all he ever did was try and keep her safe. When they met up again and Alina felt bad and was trying to explain herself and Mal saw she was struggling and he told her that she did have to explain anything he just wants her safe, which honestly was so sweet.
