"I hardly even know her" - At first looks like that Shu's the one who lost his friend. That he wasn't able to fully know his friend and yet he's grieving so bad. But when he said, "Toumeina boku wa kimi o yubi sashita", it all changed. Shu's the friend who died. Shu got attached to a person who, he, hardly even knows and same goes to the person whom he call as his "friend". Maybe Shu, wasnt a friend to that person, that he was just a no one, yet that person fills something that's missing on Shu's entirety. And due to that, Shu got attached. Shu's the person who doesnt have anyone and a person enters his life, with skepticism, yet that person grew on him. His friend is the type of person that hardly even knows they're making a great change to a person's life. And for that, Shu is grateful and in pain. In pain, as he knows that one day, Time will ask him to pay his debt. Time that gives the ability for people to create new connections. While as a payment, time will pass by. Alot will change. Shu got attached and dependent to his friend that maybe in the future, he wouldn't be able to function anymore without "her". Shu thought that leaving the physical realm ends all of his skepticism, fear, and pain. But Shu wasn't able to accept the fact that he cannot leave his friend. Shu valued his friend that he thought would only bring him more pain. Shu was mistaken. Shu is now in much more pain. His friend wouldn't be able to see him again. That they can no longer share a smile. That they can no longer be able feel each others comfort; physically and emotionally. That one is left alone while the other is longing for what he just lost due to his mistake. Shu is stuck in regretting and he'll forever be. All he can do now as a result, is be a Transparent pointing at her(Toumeina boku wa kimi o yubi sashiteta).
When you realize this song is about suicide, a ghost haunting their friend and being dependant on that said friend. And oof, I could hear the train's siren. That was scary. Regardless, this AMV is amazing!
