The same thing happened to me but after I put an SD card in with some songs it worked very well!

I have this same player and I wondered. I figure not all devices support the microphone, even though that MIC hole is in the chassis. Chinese stuff....

easy go to your song or whatever then click the VOL key and use the buttons from getting back to the song and the button for the next song if u changed it click again VOL
