Lovely to see your review. I think it’s great to see other people just needing ordinary clothes and enjoying the making of them. I live in trousers and tees so your channel is so relevant to me and you always inspire me to try something new.
I love that you make such practical things - garments you’ll wear over and over again or things for the house that will actually get used! Thank you for sharing your “best” of 2024! Xx 💞
That's me, just a practical Gal! I so envy the lovely blouses and workwear you make and as for Marianne's garments, well they are just stunning. Maybe I will have the occasion to make something more special in 2025. xxx 💗
Lovely round up on your favourite makes this year, Carole. So glad I discovered you. My personal favourite is the peplum top 🥰 We are all looking forward to your makes and updates in 2025. Wishing you a fab start to the year and sending you greetings from the other side of the New Forest in Hampshire! 🍀🥂🙋🏼♀️
Hello to you just across the Forest! I do love finding out that I have local viewers. Thanks so much for watching and your lovely comment. I do hope the makes in sew in 2025 are just as good as 2024, of course there are always the run of the mill ones I need to sew...currently the new lounge cushion covers I keep putting off 😂. Happy New Year to you too 🧵😊
So many wins! You look fantastic in those jeans. And the ruffled top is adorable. Can't wait to see what you do next. Especially with your "I can make that!" xoxoxox
Hi Jen! Hope you had a great Christmas with the family. I feel such a girl in that ruffled top and it was a really brave move for me making that. Who knows what I will end up making in 2025 but I do know what it won't be....anything in Double Gauze 😂😂. Happy New Year my friend 💗💗💗
Hi Carole! I'm always drawn to the impractical, wear once a year, type of garments. For 2025, I've decided one of my goals will be to make more of what I need for myself and my home. Thank you for a fantastic 2024. I look forward to 2025 and what you teach, show, or inspire us to do. I might need to make a fabric/pattern wheel as well as there are things languishing in my sewing room and need to be used. From my home in Rochester, New York to yours in the UK, I wish you and your lovely family a happy, healthy and bright 2025. Happy New Year, Carole!
Thank you very much and I so appreciate you watching in 2024. I think we are all tempted with the fancy things every now and again and things perhaps we will wear only once...if that! I have just sorted out the wheel fabrics for the New Year and wow what a collection of duds they are 😂. May I wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year as well from across the Pond! 🧵😊
Thanks so much Diane, there is me saying I never line anything and I have this year! I don't regret lining any of those things either so maybe I have changed my ways. Happy New Year to you! 🧵😊
The review of your 2024 highlight sews was great. To my surprise also, the Donny shirt looked awesome on you. I loved that fabric and yes it looked great on you too 😊 pretty pillow cushion and very useful. Great job and creative. Always a win.
Thanks so much for your comments, I was so pleased with that jacket as it was one of those things I never thought I would make... ever! I must get round to a second Donny shirt very soon. You can't start too early with Spring Sewing if you ask me 😂. Happy New Year 🧵😊
Hi Carole! You had so many lovely makes this past year I bet it was really hard to settle on just 5 of them. I look forward to seeing what you have on your cutting table next year! Happy Sewing!!
Hi Deb, hope you had a great Christmas! It was really hard to settle on the 5 garments believe me. Who knows what next year will have in store for my Sewing Room but I know one thing, I need to make more lounge cushion covers 😂. Happy New Year to you all 🧵😊
Love all these makes. I just made those trousers out of a thin weight corduroy (light blue), and I absolutely love them, too. I rarely make things more than once, but I will definitely be making those trousers again in different fabrics!
Thanks so much for your comment and yes, those trousers in a needlecord would be fabulous! Hopefully I will make some more of those in 2025, maybe in a twill?! Happy New Year 🧵😊
Thanks for another great vlog Carole! It was really fun seeing your favorite makes, and you reminded me that I want to make the B6455 top. Yours is so cute!
Thank you so much for watching and your kind comment. That Butterick top was such a nice sew and I really do love wearing it. You should definitely try it! 🧵😊
That is so kind of you, thank you so much. Who knows what I will make in 2025, I have no idea 🤣. I do hope you continue to enjoy my channel whatever I do sew! 🧵😊
Wow Carole, you had a great sewing year! You’ve sewn beautiful garments/items, and I agree with your picks. That bomber jacket was the bomb 💣!!! I am looking forward to your sewing adventures of 2025!!! Happy 2025💖💖
Hi Karen, thanks so much! You made some awesome stuff too for you and your daughter. I can't wait to see what you come up with in 2025 either. Happy New Year 🧵😊💗💗
I love your makes. That Jacket and the wheel of fate top are indeed gorgeous and I can understand why they are at the top of your favs. My husband and I are retired so my life is simple as well-no gala events or anything like that. I have sewn some special things though, just because I want to. After all, that is what our hobby should be -right? Just to bring us joy. Happy 2025 and so anxious to see what you come up with next. 🥰
Thank you so much Theresa! Sometimes we do just want to make something more special don't we, that's why I do love using the Wheel, it makes me step out of my comfort zone and make things that are less run of the mill! As you quite rightly this is our hobby and we love it don't we 🧵😊Happy 2025 to you too
Wow! Great selections Carole! I completely agree on all of them. My absolute favorite you made in 2024 is the New Look jacket! Hands-down!! Wow beautiful. It's been on my list for the past 2 years. I need to find fabric for it and go make it. All your other makes are FANTASTIC!! I just added B6859 & B6455 to my must-have pattern list. Thanks for sharing all the tips for each make. I love your cushion cover too. So dramatic!! You did great this year! I'm looking forward to your creations in 2025. They are always fun and fabulous!! 💝💝
Hi Grace, thanks so much for watching my run down of 2024. That jacket was such a winner wasn't it, I honestly never thought I could make something like that! That cushion cover was such fun to do and I vowed at the time to make another one using Jelly Roll fabrics... did I...nope...time ran away with me as always 😂. I can't wait to see what you come up with in 2025 as well, I am expecting some fun things from you! Happy New Year my friend 💗🧵💗
Thank you so much for that comment, sometimes I feel all I ever make are run of the mill garments! I think that is why I liked the jacket so much. Happy New Year to you too 🧵😊
Hi Carole, some wonderful makes there. The jacket is particularly nice, then the Laura Ashley pillow case. Did Jen know you had that material! 😂. Thank you for your videos and makes for 2024, looking forward to see what you make in 2025. Take care ☺
Hi Babbra, thanks so much for your kind comments. I told Jen I had bought a Laura Ashley Duvet cover yes, I also said when I had finished using it I would send it to her 🤣. I really appreciate you watching my channel in 2024 and thanks for your always positive comments 🧵😊
Hi Carole, I am in awe of how many beautiful makes you’ve done in 2024. I think they are all spectacular. The Butterick top is at the top of my favorites as You look great wearing it. I look forward to 2025 and all your sewing adventures. ❤ Diann
Hi Diann, I do hope you have had a good Christmas? That Butterick top was brave for me but I really do love those sleeves, I have to make another of those! You have also made some wonderful stuff in 2025, your recent Largo Cargos for one. Happy New Year to you my friend and thanks for watching 💗🍓xx
Hi Carole! So fun to see your Top 5 sews for 2024. Funny, I don't remember your making the red B6859, but it is very pretty and shows the gathering of the sleeves to the bodice so well. Your jacket was a fantastic make and turned out very well. I believe one of my favorite makes was the multi-colored floral WOF blouse. 🥰 Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family! xx Dori
Hi Dori! Hope you had a good Christmas, your first in Florida. Thanks so much for your kind comments and yes, didn't the wheel do well choosing the fabric and pattern combo for that blouse. I have just chosen the fabrics for my next series and oh dear, there are some awful ones there 😂. We did have a wonderful Christmas thank you, everything went to plan and everyone had a good time...phew! I will take the opportunity to say a Happy New Year to you now, wishing you lots of good health and sewing in 2025 xxx
I love them all and would be happy to wear each and every one of them Carole. I particularly like the Donny shirt in its jazzy fabric!! The heading of your post threw me a little as you have put 2025 and I thought you were going to show me what you were planning for next year. I can't afford to lose years at my age. You always seem to be apologising for your 'nothing special' sewing but they are items we all like so much so thank you and please don't apologise for what you do. 🤗 I look forward to your videos so much. They're a highlight for me. I hope you and your family have a wonderful 2025. Maree, Sydney
Oh my goodness thank you for spotting my title error 😂, that is so funny and proves I am really getting older! Thank you so much for such kind comments too. I always feel people will be bored with my ordinary sewing but I suppose there are many other people out there sewing the 'fancy' stuff. I just don't need it anymore! Wishing you a very Happy 2025 and I so appreciate you watching my videos 🧵😊
Happy New Year, Carole. I wrote a nice, newsy comment and was signing off, hit a wrong button and lost it all. Not enough coffee yet, this morning. I really like the idea of making a file full of pocket patterns. I will incorporate that in the new year. Wishing your all the best always. I have loved your channel from your very first one. 🎄🍾 Bernadette
Hi Bernadette, thanks so much for your 'second' comment. Don't worry I get that all the time when I am typing replies to comments 😂. There is a button I hit on the keyboard that deletes everything and I have no idea what it is?! Thanks so much for being loyal to me and hope you will stay with me in 2025. Happy New Year 🧵😊
Amazing recap! I loved your top that was a result of your wheel spin❤️ I finished my grandson’s hoody as I watched. Our family Christmas is New Years Eve.
I loved seeing your top 5 makes. The bomber jacket is beautiful. I love the red bamboo jersey t-shirt too. The Donny shirt is one of my favorites too. I lengthen mine by 2 inches, and I use bias binding to hem so that I don’t lose any length. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope you both had a wonderful Christmas and look forward to a great 2025.😊
Hi Cynthia, thanks so much for stopping by and watching. Thanks for the hint on the Donny, stupidly I didn't note down how much I lengthened it by so I will use your 2 inches next time! Hope your Christmas went well too and a Happy New Year 💗
I’m so glad to have found your channel this year. I sew the big 4 too, and casual clothes because I’m retired. I also don’t keep notes, but I am planning on being better in 2025 with notes on makes. I rarely dress up, but I will sew a dress for a wedding occasion. I can’t seem to perfect sewing with knits but I need t-shirts. You have helped me realize that I should be able to do it. I look forward to 2025 withypu
I am so glad you found me too, you are always so kind in your comments and I love our 'chats'! My new year's resolution for 2024 was to mark down what I sew... I think I will try again for 2025 😂. The only time I dress up now is on a Summer type holiday in a Hotel, all our other holidays tend to be walking so no dresses needed there! I do love sewing T shirts though thank goodness. Sewing T shirts really is quite easy to do and just think, no darts and they are stretchy so the size doesn't have to be so spot on. Thanks again and Happy New Year 🧵😊
It was nice to look back on your favourites Carole. As for next year, I think that's the brilliant thing about sewing...we can just go with the mood, or the occasion . Roll on 2025 and to seeing what you share with all your subscribers.
Thank you so much for watching Annette and I really appreciate your kindness. I really do just sew random things I need, not much planning is ever involved 😂. Who knows what I will end up making in 2025 but I must make some new lounge cushion covers if nothing else!! Happy New Year 🧵😊
Some lovely makes there but I love the flowery top. I also have a Donny top on my radar - I bought some lovely silk noil in the Black Friday sales so I will probably use that. I will also be adding some length to the body as I like to be well covered. Happy 2025 to you.
Thanks so much. Oh I do like the sound of your planned Donny top! Lots of people like the shortness of the Donny but I am like you, I need more covering, it is less drafty! 🧵😊
Hi Carole, I love to see some of your favorite makes, most of them are mine also! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next year! I hope your Christmas was beautiful and peaceful. I had a wonderful time at my daughter’s house, no kids for a change, it was very peaceful. She cooked a magnificent meal for us, she’s a great cook, when she sets her mind to it! Have a wonderful New Year’s Day , don’t party overmuch, I’ll not be partying at all, lol. 🎉. Take care😊
Hi Sue, thanks so much for watching and your comment. My Christmas was anything but peaceful but it was a lot of fun! I am so glad you had a good time at your daughter's house with lots of good food and cheer. Don't worry, I never party too much as I have been Teetotal for 33 years 😂. It is just Chris and I this year, no Band gig for him this time. Happy New Year! 🧵😊
Happy New Year ! Those are all lovely garments, That's what I sew too, practical. Tees, slacks, tops , pj's, etc , everyday wear. I enjoy your channel, have a wonderful 2025 with your family !
Thank you so much. Glad you are like me and just sew what we need. Every now and again it is fun to make something more special but only if I need it. I do love watching everyone else make the fun stuff though! Wishing you a Happy 2025 as well 🧵😊
Thank you so much, I hope you had a good Christmas too. All went to plan at our end thank goodness. I am glad you enjoyed the video and Happy New Year to you too 🧵😊
This year, I am making the things I need. I made three blouses. I am currently making Simplicity S9470, View A. This is a long-sleeved top. I am also making McCall's M8019. It is a winter jacket, View B. Both makes are coming together nicely.
Hi Carole. Great review, I think your pink jacket is fabulous and probably my favourite of your makes too. I don't have the Donny shirt pattern, but I do like Friday Pattern Company and think perhaps I should purchase it. I understand it's not a particularly fabric hungry pattern. Look forward to seeing what next year brings. Thanks as ever, you managed to fill a gap now Vlogmas is over. I'm feeling bereft😐 😂
Thank you so much Ann, I am glad you enjoyed my run down. I still can't believe I made that jacket! Roll on Spring when I can wear it. I don't remember using much fabric for the Donny Shirt, I think I bought 1.5 metres and had some left. It does feel strange not seeing our favourite Vloggers every day doesn't it!! Happy New Year🧵😊x
A great look back at your year. I have that bomber jacket pattern and would really like to make it up this year. Finding a fabric I like for it is proving a challenge. Overall I feel 2024 was a successful sewing year for me also, getting more made than usual, with most things getting a lot of use including garments made for my husband and grown daughters which always makes me feel good. I definitely had two duds but they were down to poor fabric choice and I can't fault the patterns. Canada Post has been forced back to work so I can finally get that NL6000 on its way to you. I'll drop you an email shortly.
Thank you so much for watching my run down of 2024. Finding fabric for that jacket took a good couple of years for me too. The pattern cover didn't help me at all. I bought it after they made it on the Great British Sewing Bee TV show! Glad you have had a good year too, makes for others are always more rewarding aren't they. Thanks for your email and I have responded to you. Happy New Year! 🧵😊
This video was great. It was fun to see your favorites. It would be interesting to know what were your family’s favorites are that you made them. I’m tempted to make that jacket but don’t know if I have the patience. I like quick, easy, and comfy.
Thanks so much! The jacket was fairly quick and easy I just made it more difficult with the choice of lining fabrics and the fact I couldn't get what they wanted me to do with the sleeves! Second time round it should be much better. Happy New Year 🧵😊
All your garments are lovely, especially the bomber jacket. I avoid Big 4/5 patterns as they are such a pain to fit for me. I stick to indie patterns in the main.
Thanks so much for watching and your kindness. I know a lot of people do struggle fitting the Big 4/5 patterns but they are changing in their sizing. I like trying the Indie patterns every now and again but I do hate the PDFs!! Happy New Year 🧵😊
Thank you so much, I am glad you like what I sew and I really appreciate your kindness! Hopefully I can continue to bring you some good ideas in 2025 as well. Happy New Year 🧵😊
Lovely to see your review. I think it’s great to see other people just needing ordinary clothes and enjoying the making of them. I live in trousers and tees so your channel is so relevant to me and you always inspire me to try something new.
Thank you so much Elise, I really do appreciate your comments as sometimes I do wonder if people would like me to make more interesting garments! 🧵😊
I love that you make such practical things - garments you’ll wear over and over again or things for the house that will actually get used! Thank you for sharing your “best” of 2024! Xx 💞

Girl! You're a lining queen! A skirt, a pinafore, and a jacket all in one year. I don't think I've lined a garment in a couple of years! 😂😂😂
Thanks so much Diane, there is me saying I never line anything and I have this year! I don't regret lining any of those things either so maybe I have changed my ways. Happy New Year to you! 🧵😊

Wow! Great selections Carole! I completely agree on all of them. My absolute favorite you made in 2024 is the New Look jacket! Hands-down!! Wow beautiful. It's been on my list for the past 2 years.
Happy New Year 🧵😊
Lovely to see your favourite makes. I look forward to seeing your 2025 makes. Happy New Year to you.
Thank you so much Ann, I hope I can make some good ones in 2025 as well.
Wishing you a Happy 2025 as well 🧵😊
Hi Carole I’m sure you had a wonderful Christmas. Loved seeing your makes again. Have a fabulous new year. Best Wishes Carol 😊
Thanks for watching. I love the look of both of those patterns, the lines on the blouse are lovely. Good luck with them both 🧵😊
Great year of sewing and vlogging Carole. Have a very happy new year. 😊x
Thank you so much Debbie, that is so kind of you. Happy New Year to you too 🧵😊
A great look back at your year.
Happy New Year 🧵😊
To donate your quilt look for a local Linus Quilt group. Linus take thousands of quilts to paediatric wards and Children's Hospices.
Thank you so much, I will look into the organisation. That is a great idea. Happy New Year 🧵😊
I like all your makes…they suit me too… I have a similar lifestyle to yours and similar figure….look forward to all your makes in 2025…😊🧵🇦🇺
Thank you so much, I am glad you like what I sew and I really appreciate your kindness! Hopefully I can continue to bring you some good ideas in 2025 as well. Happy New Year 🧵😊
