You are a bit of an arsehole if you do that. So I am glad it doesnt work anymore, I can imagine the grief comments blizz got about that.
The trouble with timers is unless you picked the last black lotus yourself, you never know how long it is until the next one is due. You could enter one of the 4 zones not knowing that one was picked just 1 min before you arrived, so you run around for the next 45 - 75 mins looking for something that isn't even there yet.
and if you know the timer you run around for 30 minutes hoping no one got the spawn...

The only thing I learned from this is Faeralina is casual. On Blaumeux spots are camped with 300 herbers at most spots 24/7.
just leveled my warrior on Gehenas EU to lvl 51. While questing in Burning steppes I saw a lotus sittin with no one to take it. Maybe some servers have more bots than others.
@@Frostadamus I used to be able to sit in the middle of EPL eagle eyeing and could get 6-10 a night. Now every zone is perma camped. I think the gold sellers target med/low pops for transfers and avoid the big dogs.
@@Frostadamus On golamagg EU we farm the shit out of these the old way, no bots required. We just grab 5 guildmates with 2 accs each and we camp burning steppes for hours and hours swithing between the layers. It's heavily contested by other players from both factions. And it's pretty much the same with other lotus zones.... long live the quarantine.

tip for fighting over a black lotus, the Hand of Edward the odd proc can be used to instantly pick the lotus, no Im not kidding.
Can confirm, guild officer had a proc and instapicked in front of a mage :D

The number 1 challenge to picking lotus is that every single spawn is a competition between everyone else in the zone, involving luck, knowledge and skill. If you are facechecking lotus VS hunters/shamans farsighting you will have almost no chance to get it aside from luck, you are almost wasting your time because eagle eye/far sight is incredibly efficient at checking spots as you say 20-60 seconds but it's real fast when compared to facecheck which can take 5-10 minutes, that's if your lucky you don't get knocked off mount, ganked or distracted by regular herbs/mines. Something you didn't mention but is incredibly important if you have competition is riding speed gear - gloves enchant, mithril spur boots and carrot trinket to beat your competition to the lotus. Finally you need some kind of CC or agro drop to deal with pulling mobs when approaching lotus, many lotus can be picked without pulling mobs with careful movement but some are impossible, especially challenging with elite dragons/tyrs hand. Invisibility potions are a must to skip past many elites if you can't stealth. I have picked over 50 lotus but have lost 3 times as much to people who beat me to it by seconds or are playing hunter for the ultimate easy safe way of lotus farming.
can confirm hunter is bis for lotus farming, you cna even check rich thorium spots if u have minin aswell sometimes ive logged in and made 200g + in 2 minutes and log back off... also getting impoved traps as hunter you can scatter shot and freezing trap enemy faction and pick the lotus :D
tip to beat hunters...get a group of enough ppl to camp all the spawn points at the same time.

ya back then u got 10 lotus a day if u doin all of this. nowdays i get 0-2 a day doin the same stuff cause everyone is doin it. and ya multibox spawn camping is the norm now on my server so gl getting a lotus.

i farmed 35 lotus on a few weekends, sometimes 8-10 a day. thats going to be more than enough to finance the rest of my time in classic.

@@ItachiUchiha-re6fx Level a hunter alt to 15 (15 for the level 15 water), learn herbing (so you can see nodes on minimap), get a port to Silithus or Winterspring (EPL and Burning Steppes not recommended), use Eagle Eye on every spawn point till you find one or get info on the timer. Congrats, you're now a Black Lotus farmer. Say goodbye to your IRL life, and say hello to Lotus Fever.
@@monster2slayer That's impossible, I do this for 12hrs a day, I know all the spots, I got 4 at my best in 1 day. All spots are farmed by mafias at anytime.

I know this is unrelated to the video but can you please make a detailed guide about instance locking. I know most people dont struggle so much with this but i just cannot understand it. I will give example below.
First enter a instance at 10-42
Resets at 10-50 // 11-00 // 11-07 // 11-17
SO now I have done 5 instances inside of an hour but only 4 resets. If i try to enter again it locks me, if I wait until 11-50(1 hour past the first reset) it still locks me out.... I don't understand what I am doing wrong. This is a constant issue I have and is really frustrating me.
spend more time in the instance or log out for a few mins. check alts. log back on reset and repeat. you can do it all day if you just spend a lil more time between resets

I am trying to be efficient which means doing the maximum amount of runs without getting locked. then wasting time on an alt until i can return to farming. I agree with what you have said in theory but in practice is where I need guidance. If the lock is x amount of runs per hour, than me waiting for 1 hour+ shouldn't result in a lockout, but it does. what am i doing wrong
You’re just misinformed about the resets. You are allowed 4 resets per hour, beginning when you reset for the first time (the end of your first run). This means that if you’re only farming for 1 your, then you can do 5 instances and be done with it (12 min/run). However if you’re farming for longer than 1 hour, you need to do 15 min/run or you’ll get locked out. This is the reason people will do satyr’s with lashers, it’s to make use of that extra time and be able to keep farming continuously.
@@shawnhoelsch6126 ahhhhhhhhhh ok. This does make more sense. Idk why i thought it was 5, and becouse the first run doesnt require a reset it was reinforcing to me that it is 5. So i can do 5 the first hour then 4 each hour after that. Thank you for clarifying that, i have been ghetto hearthed so many times from DM and Mara and could not figure out what i was doing wrong.
You can run an instance five times an hour but only reset it 4 times with four resets in the first time you entered that's five
any tips for how to fight Tauren Druids bots in stealth with herb ench and clicker scripts sitting on every spawn? EU Shazzrah btw
If you're also horde that's where the piccolo comes into play since you can cancel their pick

Just got a piccolo and tried it with my friend. He used in on me while I was picking a herb. It did not cancel the picking for me and I started dancing only after I was done picking. What gives?
@@parris476 maybe it's been patched out I know they nerfed some other items that caused dancing
Black Lotus on Herod are 250g each, there is a Banking Guild that manipulates the market and buys them up instantly if they are sold for less and keeps only a few on AH at a time for well over 200g. It sucks its making it so you cant use them on raids. They are really hard to get. I wish blizzard would do something about it.
You wanna get Black Lotus forget it. Too many bots camping each spawn spot. Solution to this would be to have one in DM east. Maybe this will kill the prices overtime

Our prices on Mograine-EU went down to 130g over 3 days after ZG release. The price is being controlled by certain individuals that invested into Black Lotus, saw it basically live. 2 people bought all of the lower priced Black Lotus (around 20 of them) just to put it up on AH again for 200g.
ZG release removes BoP from the Lotus
prior to that the herbalist also has to have the Flask recipe to use it
they are very expensive before that

Investments don't work well anymore. Everyone does it, so the price of stuff actually goes down due to massive supply.

I bought all the Black Lotus on Faerlina Horde when we got Layered again. They dropped down to 120g at the lowest, selling them for 185g+ atm

Quick question... Say you're a paladin and you're competing with a friendly player that IS NOT in your party for an herb or ore node... If I cast blessing of protection on them will that interrupt their harvesting? I'm thinking about resubbing and playing classic WoW and I've never attempted this. If someone knows if this works or not I'd be curious to know.

Sadly many people join the mafia and just sit on those spawns. When i did some lotus hunting recently in Silithis there was a camper on almost every spawn and a guildie said when he checked eairler they were on every single spawn. I had to make that macro for swapping between them, and bind it to a mouse button, within 5 mins of learning the 2nd profession cuz it would have driven me mad without something like that.

Good tips for your server. But on my server its nearly impossible to pick without getting body camped. When timer comes up and they know your an herber there is a mafia on my server that's cross faction. When timer comes up in a zone there working and they know your herbing they get people to kill you and camp corpse till timer is gone. Since layering has started it has become harder for them to run it atleast and I have gotten a couple while just farming CC rep in silithus but this is also probably due to the hordes of ppl around farming as well. Before when I landed in silithus I would get msged what are your intentions if you said nothing or herbing you would be killed.
I had 5 same spawns in silithus for 6 hours and half. 90 percent same place. Got 5 per day easy login in only in time :)

At maximum 168 (=24x7) Black Lotus spawn per week per layer.
So per week and (non-layered) server you can only equip FOUR RAIDS with flasks at best...
there are more zones but still way to less for a big server.

Black lotus is a horde only item on many pvp servers. I have tried, it's too frustrating with all the horde on my server.

There's so many bots on my server so seeing a black lotus during the day is impossible, as you have all the alliance bots plus people farming themselves.

Our server has a bunch of stealthed bot rogues on all the spawns and they usually get most of them. What do we do about that lol.
here as well mate i feel you. all the economy is players vs bots and i rly get sick of it. it was never that bad on any pserver i played cause they took countermeasures if it escalated. but blizz dont give a f as long as they make money so everything is fine. countless ppl have quit the game because they could not farm anything and doin the same instance aoe farm all day isnt fun for most ppl. ill guess all the bots are here cause u still can earn alot of money by selling wow gold. and as long as the bots pay monthly blizzard is happy.

Yes one per zone
45-75 min respawn, one per zone. It can spawn in the same place several times in a row.
Yeah each of the 4 zones has its own timer, so per server +/-96 lotussen for both alliance and horde can be picket per day :)
I made a record: 10+ hours silithus played today,saw 2 lotuses but other 2 guys was already on plant 😠
On my server Змейталак, ppl just camping black lotus 24/7, so if u want to make it batter to buy it from ah then try to gather it.

Chinese Black lotus farmers (entire guilds/bot farms) just sit on top of entire zone spawns here on smolderwebb, they just sit on every spawn in an entire zone its ridiculous
Same on Blaumeux. A Chinese farmer went from 4 accounts to 10 accounts, fresh L60 mages with no trinkets (mages sell the cheapest on black market websites). Blizzard does nothing even when mass reported.
Good luck doing this on my server. Wont have nearly as much luck.

The reason why guys like me who have jobs never see a black lotus is because there are so many unemployed shitters out there that play wow 18 hours a day riding around and around in zones or have hunters grouped with alts using their farsight ability to scope out other spawn locations and they just send an alt to pick it.. Until blizzard finally wakes the fuck up and makes black lotus a random spawn that comes with picking a high level herb this will never stop.
How to pick lotus:
1.Have at least 2 accounts and a friend with the same.
2. Both needs a spy
3. Have 3 lvl 60 across the map
4. Profit
No chance for solo farmers

I once managed 5 lotus in 1 hour. Silithus>Winterspring>EPL>Silithus>Winterspring. the silithus and winterspring ones obviously had a sub 1 hour respawn.
I look and wonder how simple it is on your servers. On Ru servers there are bots + video cameras tracking every spot of a black lotus. Your practice is not for us ... Blizzard ignore bots and cameras.
what i don't get is what's the focus on gold ?
Skill Training, Mounts, Repairs ... and the rest is a bit dumb.

u know that u can still get 60€ for 1k ^^ so every lotus is 12€ on my server. thats a pretty decent tax free payment. and if u run bots n stuff u can get pretty good numbers in.
what i dont understand are players sitting on all the mats they could never consume in 100 wow lives and breaking the whole economy for everyone else and i dont understand blizzard not doin any work on it to keep ppl from quitting the game cause of the stupid economy.

Also at my server , there are 3 person stays at every point of spawn , there are no chance to loot that if you leave you own point of spawn ... I ment that all of us stays at their own spawn point and w8 for luck bcs so much ppl hunting it

well thats exactly why the economy is so fucked because everyone of the farmers sit on a shit ton of stuff other ppl could use making a self crafted volatile economy. im sure by now there are enough lotus arround until tbc comes out by now but they will never sell it to keep the price so high. same with alot of other stuff. i know so many ppl who sit on so much stuff they could never use but prevented others who maybe would use it to get it just because they play 24/7. here almost every black lotus spawn is camped by multiboxing farmers. on our server there are also plenty of mutibox instance farming goin on and ppl have worked in the past on botting instances with good results. but blizzard just dont care so its pointless to discuss they will not put any work into that game and they have given up on the biggest servers. they just milk it and move on to tbc and then milk that with no effort as well. so sad even big pservers with more players than the biggest bliz server run better and got a better economy due rnd spawntimers and places and also dynamic spawns on real big servers. it hurts me when i see so many ppl quit classic cause all of this bullshit and also i will look forward when i start playing on pservers again they love the game blizzard only loves money.
The zones do not have 10 Black Lotus spawns. Winterspring alone has atleast 29.
