I love your "family tradition " tree! My parents got me & my siblings an ornament each year as we were growing up & they were the first Christmas decorations that we took into our own homes. They are some of my favorites to add to my tree each year. I have continued the tradition with my daughter & now with her children. Last year, my daughter commented on one of my special ornaments that she had always loved & that she was going to steal it someday for her tree. I gifted it to her this year. It was so special to see her open it & place it on her tree.
I loved the peek into your lovely home and fun decorating. What I admire the most is that your decorations have meaning and stories behind them, which makes them that more precious.
Hi Chelsi & Billy! Thank you for the great tour. I would think most folks have all those great ornaments from years ago that the kids would make. I only have 1 son, but still enjoyed getting out the ornaments & seeing what we have from back then. Great memories 💗💗
It was so nice to see how you decorate your house for Christmas. Each of my kids growing up had a picture ornament & also a special ornament, it could be a collectible or something they made. When they moved, they had a box filled with their ornaments for their own trees. I still do it now, but most important I have been doing that with my grandchildren. I love it!

Oh Chelsi That Entry Tree is adorable!! Just know that people that fix watches sometimes can fix music boxes. Love your home and decor. After my boys left home it was just my daughter and myself left (she is 10 years younger) and since the age of 6 she always had her own little Christmas tree in her room with decorations she picked out. When she left home she took my big tree and left her little tree for me.
Thank for showing your home. Decorated so pretty. I loved to see the Christmas quilts that you did, esp for your son. Some of friends in town over they decorate for Christmas. One friend has tree in every room in her condo. She collects Santa's and gets to use them Christmas time. Thank you.

I love the Santa kit! I made a quilt using pieces from all 3 collections ( Swell Christmas, Sweet Christmas and Deer Christmas). It turned out beautifully! I wish I could share a picture with you 😊

I have lots of trees with different themes as well. I too have a silver and gold tree, and it also holds my collections of Rudolph ornaments ❤
We also do the real tree with our family ornaments. For me, I made ornaments with all the kids photos with Santa over the years, the rest of the tree is covered with the kids ornaments as we also give them a new one each year. ❤
Gosh, every time you share with us a piece of your personal life I always have a few me too moments…. You may just be my “best quilty friend” lol 😂 wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season.

Every year I gave my children a special ornament and now I'm gifting my grandchildren with their own special ornaments.

Love the sentiment throughout your home. It takes my family a few hours to decorate our tree as my grown children and their children rediscover the decorations they've made throughout their childhood and tell and retell the story behind each.
I love all the personal sentimental pieces in your home ❤ my Gommie made me a Bucilla stocking and it’s been one of my favorite pieces my entire life and I’m going by to carry on the tradition and make my children them. I also plan on surprising my younger brother with one since he never got one and always wanted one ❤

I have made the Santa log cabin quilt...and gifted it to a special neice. If I ever find the kit I will do it again.

My husband and I did this for our first tree. We never thought of your trick. We had tall ceilings however the circumference of the tree well we could hardly get the tree in the house. My husband had to cut the top and the bottom while trying to get it through the door. It took up the whole dining room and we only had 2 strings of lights. We laughed about this for many years.
