Group A Beta Hemolytic Streptococcus (S. pyogenes) versus Group B Beta Hemolytic Streptococcus (S. agalactiae) is nice to know, but a doctor always has a good Laboratory. Let the force be with you. Culture and Sensitivities (CAS) should always guide the treating physician STAT. It is always great to know their are people who can make a difference in this world of high morbidity and mortality. The Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases is Great and Climbing. Hi Paul I have a question that i'm trying to help a friend with. She does lab work for a class and has determined a bacteria to be either Group A or Group B but can't run a test for the Hydrolysis portion which would be either the Taxos A or Starch Hydrolysis Test. If a Hydrolysis test can't be used.... how would one go about determining a difference between A or B from running these tests - MAC, beaa, emb, msa agar, mr/vp test, SIM, catalase, oxidase, gram stain, and endospore stain?
