    Just got a hybrid and it's great. I don't sit in the back when I'm driving so I don't care. anyone complains, they can walk...The rear door handles are side hinged so you can open them like a normal handle. Safest car on the road.

    one thing reviewers fail to mention is the reliability of toyota/lexus group which is on top for the last 3 years as far as I'm aware. You buy this car and im sure it's mechanics/electronics would function fine even after a decade

      I think that on this occasion, that was Toyota's intention. The visibility, impractical boot and rear seat atmosphere are what suffer most. The cup holders in the doors are a nice touch, though.

      Almost Robocop until they fired the intern. The rear side looks awful.

    • @StephenButlerOne
      @StephenButlerOne 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      CJ P it was their intention to give it the Coupé look. The 'C' stands for Coupé. Coupé High Rider.
      I own a Coupé, and they all suffer from smaller back window poor view out, but I've never seen it to the extent of this. It may aswell not have windows. If you are to look to the side, all you see is 'C' pillar. You need to lean forward to actually see out. Add that the the very dark interior, it's extremely gloomy interior.
      It's just a not very nice. Also the materials at close inspection are not very good. And that screen looks so poor to. It's worse in person.
      The Rav4 doesn't have a modern interior, its actually quite agricultural but it's miles ahead of this. The kuga is a far nicer place to be, and the he 3008 is probably the best interior for under £50k nevermind the £25k of he GT-line is. (shame about the engines).

    seriously now, your comments make me wonder...how can it be that no one likes the design of this car? This is the first time i see a car in its final stage to look so close to a futuristic concept. I mean everyone goes "wow" with the presentations of concept cars
    And now that Toyota actually made a car look modern futuristic straight out of the original concept design, everyone on the internet bashes Toyota and the designers and the final appearance of this car... The car looks amazing! It looks like a Lexus concept
    Seriously whats wrong with you people? Is this some kind of Europe vs Japan automobile
    fanboyism? I really would like to know what car do you drive?
    Do you like the design of cars like WV golf or Audi Q2?...Because no matter if its 2017 they still do look like a boxy tin bucket for shit gathering...
    Toyota makes the most reliable cars. I wont compare their reliability with Peugeot nor other European brands at that price point. Yeah you can get the Peugeot 3008 for less money but you will spend double for all the problems that will occur after a few years...

    • @kucingsuci

      Michael K it's human nature to bash something that popular. I agree VW golf is a boring looking car that no one complains about

    • @Skorps1811
      @Skorps1811 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I don't get it either. From the form factor and design perspective it seems to me a Nissan Juke rival and it seem to be alright in this.

    • @TheDutchMitchell
      @TheDutchMitchell 7 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      People are in general just hateful morons that like to bash on everything that is not standard, boring and premium. The C-HR is an amazing car and can look amazing with the right trim.

    • @michaelk6957
      @michaelk6957 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mitchell
      Ok...i know that it is matter of taste
      But that bashing is akward...since
      Most people writing comments are young people perhaps under 35 years old who are supposed to be...less conservative and more modern...
      Anyways, the car may have its flaws
      But it is a modern and premium looking car.
      Some things i dont like about it are the small back windows creating low light and poor visibility for the passengers and driver. But this is something Toyota can improve adding a sunroof perhaps on the next year model.
      Both engines petrol and hybrid have mediocre fuel economy and feel abit weak.
      Also for an SUV it is sitting kinda low. 15 cm off the ground is like a normal car. Not ideal for a crossover.
      Those are things i saw from other reviewers. I wonder if those engines are strong enough to carry 4 -5 adults
      At longer distances. With a loaded bootlit

    • @TheDutchMitchell
      @TheDutchMitchell 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      My dad owns it. I've driven it quite some times now. We've got the hybrid version and I really dislike the engine revving when you're accelerating onto the highway. It's worse than on the Pruis (old and new model). I love the interior, except for the small windows in the back. It's also very very dark inside and it could definitely use some LED accent lights inside.
      The engine is strong enough to carry 5 people, it only revs a lot more (the typical CVT sound).
      The way you make your argument is just so much nicer to read, it's well written and not plain simple and stupid bashing. Thanks for that.

    I never understood why some people are obsessed with big door bin volumes and cup holders in abundance. They can't survive a short drive without drinking 2 liters of water or one liter of coffee?
    And carbuywow and whatever review makes you feel this is one of the most important feature of a car. If you cant store at least 2 liters of water in the door bin, it fails the carwowbuy big bottle test. Do not buy the car then. You will die because of lack of side door bin space to store water and dehydration.

      Yes, we all died of dehydration in the 'old days', not. For those who 'need' everything to be the biggest, go to the states. How many people drive for 4-5 hours without a break on a daily basis? Visibility is a bigger issue. The car looks good from the outside, not bad on the inside. Car choice isn't life or death. For those who have to complain about every miniscule inconvenience, I say, "Are you perfect?"

    When was the last time a kid in the back seat looked out the window? These windows are going to diminish the glare on the tablet/mobile phone screen and kids will probably love them.

      hawkesworth1712. It's about maximising visibility, so you don't squash kids while reversing or side swipe another car joining traffic or changing lane. These cars usually have 'stylish' mirrors as well, meaning too small. Camera might help, but you can't get away from the fact that the basic design is seriously flawed from a safety point of view. Nice looker though.

    • @hawkesworth1712
      @hawkesworth1712 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@jeremylister89 . The car has a reversing camera, sensors front and back, blind spot warning, cross traffic alert and three mirrors. If that's not enough to avoid squashing a kid then the driver needs to hand their licence back.

    So, i want to tell this for you guys that want to buy this car now or in the future.
    I have this Toyota CHR, C-ult bitone. It have some things that i don't like, like this ones: you have to turn on the car so you can close your open windows (you can't do it with the key. It have Follow me home function, but not that good, when you reach home, you have to press the AUTO button bellow the steering wheel and then push the stick to high beam and then you'll get the 30 sec-50 sec till you get in house. But you won't get it if you unlock it in the night with the key or the smart entry.
    Another thing that i don't like is the Lane keeping assist. It works, but sometimes it let you pass the lane and then take you back.
    Also if you have a big phone... bad for you 😂
    This should be all, i just got mine 3 days ago. (Sorry for some mistakes)

    This car has all the mod cons and parks up for you as well as reverses and parks ... the wing mirrors fold in and it warns you when you swerve from lanes when tired.. it also is a quieter car to drive than a GLA with it's noisy diesel and outside noise from side mirrors... overall it's worth getting as a luxury car with safety and easy driving as well as long distance travel eco and automatic lights when in dark places as it dims the lights when on beam on motorways which is very convenient on long drives in country lanes and motorways... it also isn't as obnoxious as the other cars such as Mercedes, Audi and BMW

    Can someone explain to me why most in car "tablets" are still low res and awfully slow? I assume it's a cost thing, but just how little money do car manufacturers budget for this kind of thing? You can get considerably faster budget Android tablets for around 60 quid so it makes me wonder why they are not an option.

    In the US the CH-R is hybrid only. Honestly, I see that as a plus. I've always wanted a Toyota HSD hybrid and just not in a Prius form factor. The CH-R I think is a wonderful option.

    I wouldn't say this car rivals the Nissan Qashqai, Seat Ateca or Renault Kadjar, it seems more like a compact crossover that would go up against the likes of the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, etc. I think...and I'm right, the Toyota RAV4 is more aimed at bigger SUV's like the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kadjar.

    This sort of car from Toyota is the direct result of people calling toyotas boring. I wish they didn't buckle to the criticism because they're just not good at making cheap interesting cars. Thats the domain of Hyandia. Toyota can make some bloody good cars at a higher price point but their entry level cars were always great due to the reliability and practicality. Starting to feel like my 15 year old camry will never die. And it fits things modern crossovers wont.

    Well I absolutely love this car and would pick it over a 3008 or Tiguan any day (fact that you can spec a full option one for around 35 grand helps a lot) but I really think Toyota went bonkers with only offering low power engines. In a car that handles nicely and drives sporty (and also looks sporty) you don't want acceleration of 11 seconds. At least 9 seconds, but you can't get that since the hybrid or the 1.2 petrol are equally slow. Too bad, because I wouldn't buy it now. Seems the GT86 isn't the only underpowered Toyota anymore. Shame on the marketing guys.

    It's a bit of a shame Mat, that you never try to look at things from a child's perspective - e.g. how can an 8-year-old open these bloody rear doors. It's effectively a family car, so such things matter!
