Yeah it’s such a useful feature, very clever technology involved.
I do miss the C-HR the 2022 Rav-4 we got (top spec) ain’t got half the tech the C-HR did unfortunately, self park is one of them.

I love your demo video. I'm a pensioner who didn't grow up with 'tech', so I find getting to grips with procedures so much easier with a video tutorial. (my C-HR is on order ast the moment, hopefully due in May (2023) so your video has given me a head-start on using a feature of my new car. Thank-you. : - )

I'm amazed. I just bought my CH-R today and have had it 4 hours. I had no idea it did this. It has the Park Assist but I was not sure what it did. Thank you I will try this :)

I just traded my old 2019 C-HR to C-HR GR SPORT 2.0 2021 model. My old model didn’t have this option so it’s good to see this in action while waiting for my new toy to be delivered.
Yes the newer generation C-HR have much nicer spec, this is why we held out a bit longer

I did think it would be helpful, as it’s rather difficult to practice on busy roads using this system.
Be mindful in really hard rain ,I tried and nearly had a heart attack and had to take over but outside of that this is a brilliant feature

Yeah it’s all well and good in controlled environment, but I would be very cautious on a busy road…. Never the less it’s a cool party trick lol
I have mine for going on 6 years now and out of 27 cars I have had in the past THIS IS THE BEST. summer I get 40 to 44 MPG and in 10 degree temps I get 30 to 35 MPG. I would love to have a sun roof.
Yea they are fantastic cars, I have actually just purchased a second one.
Not seen many with the sun roof, I bet they are nice with the panoramic roof

Not bad, mine is a 2020 excel model and gets around 45-50 mpg on average
Yes the Design spec and up over spec get the panoramic roof on the 2024 edition
Yes they do reasonable MPG, the new 2024 edition you get a 2.0 Hybrid with 200bhp really big improvement over the 1.8 Hybrid
Thanks. I just bought 2021 limited CHR was still learning how some of the buttons work. I just saw a button that you need for it to be able to park by itself. So lots to learn. Also how can you turn off the navigation if it keeps taking you back home when you are going to work 🤔 thanks for being helpful to those who need it. 😀
Ah not problem at all, always find you tube video is easier than the handbook to understand lol.
By the sounds of it you have your sat nav programmed to your home address, so enter the menu and select clear current destination.

Yes I never knew it was called the Koba, we have a hybrid RAV-4 on order since October been told July/August when it will be ready, seams to be that way all over the world.
If you have the high spec Excel or Dynamic should have park assist.

I’m not sure it does that function, as you would be entering a live lane of traffic…. Probably not legally viable.
We have just purchased the new 2024 CHR we get in March, this can do this function via your mobile phone, without even been in the car…. Be good to see how this works

Thanks for this video, it's really helpful to see from the outside perspective. I've had this car over a year now and only managed to use the feature a couple of times because I live on a busy road and chicken out if a car is behind me! Have you been able to get this to work by parking next to the space, indicating and then driving forward? The manual seems to suggest it will work but it never seems to for me!
Yes definitely worthwhile taking it to somewhere quiet to try it out.
Ah that’s new on me never even knew it had that feature, I sure will try it out next time I have the car.

You could get the RAV4 into that space, be a little more confident in the cars sensors, it will stop before hitting anything, even when you're parking manually.
Was a brand new £30,000+ car at the time….. no thanks not risking damage for demonstration purposes, and no your a fool to fully trust sensors they there for assistance only.
Was a quick and simple demonstration of how the system works, not a top gear test to see how far you can push the system before it causes damage for a laugh.
These will actually make contact with another car if they are in a blind spot of the sensors

I've been mincing my brain trying to decide if i should get a chr. Do all models have the parking option? And what model would you recommend.

No no don’t go near VAG or Mercedes for that sum of money they are terrible….. Toyota/Lexus/ Honda all day long.

Not stupid question at all….. yes you control the brake/throttle and gear selector, but the car does all the steering input and tells you the distances on the display.

I just simply don’t think it alerts you if space is too small.
Only when it’s enough to fit the car in the gap will it alert you.
Can the standard model self park or do you need to upgrade to the higher model?
Most higher spec ones have it as standard, it’s just basically if you have the button there or not.

Yes you control the brake and throttle, but you basically only feather the brake is enough for parking
I am so sad. I live in the US and we don't get parking assist with our C-HRs. Ughhh... so jealous.
