I have also been fixing the remote control using this method all the time, and I've been using the same remote control for over 20 years. Instant adhesive doesn't stick to silicone, so it comes off after about a year, but it's not a problem. I can just do the same procedure again and it works fine.
I use the same remote for ten years with problems of the shown buttons. Five years ago I start to clean the rubber and the board with ordinary dish cleaner spooling with clean water. I dried it over night and assembled it next day! This first helpfully cleaning lasted for two years and I repeat that now the third time. Thank you for your experience with that prosthesis:-)

Não precisa nada disso. É só usar um lápis borracha ou mesmo uma borracha de apagar, daquela que tem um lado azul, e usar esse lado pra tirar aquele "limo" que deixa as borrachinhas lisas. Esse l"limo" é que não deixa passar a condutividade nas borrachas. Tirou aquela camada já volta a funcionar. Esta dica serve também pra qualquer eletrônico, caculadoras, controles de videogames, controles de portão automático, controles de carro.
I don't know why they bother to put screws in things anymore. The plastic snaps are usually so tight that it ends up breaking before it comes apart. I found a filthy Samsung remote control in the trash. It works and I wanted to take it apart to clean it, but I can't get the case apart at all.
You can charge your cellphone almost instantly by putting it in a microwave oven. No more than 10 seconds on low. I charge my own phone, this one here, daily using this method. It works great.

Superglue doesn't stick to the silicone rubber used for the buttons/keys.

Instead of aluminum foil, punch holes in HVAC aluminum foil tape. 3M brand is super sticky and has held up for years on remotes I repaired this way.

Point the remote at a smart phone camera. A purple light beam will be seen if the contact is OK. I use UHU or similar glue - lasted for 5 years!

There is a far easier way to repair worn out pads.
Use some conductive paint and apply at least two layers
