I’m so happy it’s a watercolor painting. I love your paintings. I would be a happier person if you painted and posted more WC paintings. The longer the better! You and Bob Ross are my heroes. Beautiful landscape, as always Lindsay!!
This turned out really well. At first, I thought the sky was a bit too bright; but, it all fit together, nicely. Have you ever noticed the branches on an evergreen tree? I live in The Evergreen State; so, I have noticed. The branches of younger pine and spruce trees angle up towards the sky. As, they get older, they start angling down toward the grown. The size of the tree isn't as important as the age of the tree when it comes to whether the branches point up or down.
Lindsay, you are a master at handling your brushes!! The strokes for the mountain with the flat brush were perfect, and the way you used the brush to get the evergreen trees looked effortless, but for me it is so difficult! I appreciate your talent, and throughly enjoy your videos, the longer the better! Thank you ever so much.
Thanks Lindsay. I think pine trees are the most fun trees to do, they appeal to the hot mess maker in me. Got a spatter or bloom? Yup I add a tree or a bird. Lol. I got a spatter on a bloom today on a sky. It's now a bird.😉👍💚💙💜 And the old masters used black so it's really knowing how to use it in h see harmony that is important. Take care.thanks again.🧚♀️💜
That was fun! And I am loving the landscape class. It's taking me a long time to finish but that is the good thing about an online class like that, I can deal with the life interruptions and then get back to learning. Thank you.
Really enjoyed this watercolor tutorial and loved that it is a four color piece. It was helpful when you held up the block so we could more clearly see the sketch. As a newbie to watercolor sketching is by far my weakest area. And it’s always helpful to more clearly see the sketch so I can adjust and make changes to how I will do it.
Love this. Though where I live, this would be a sunrise painting. Our sunsets light up our mountain, on the side I see anyway. I need to get going and begin my (your) watercolor landscape class.
Finally was able to watch this tonight--(Internet was not working last night BUMMER!!) Hey, got a question [my first]: do you use "neutral tint" in anything [aside from the painting you did using it as a base a while back, which was very cool, BTW] I used to use black in my silhowette paintings, I did know that they frown upon using straight black, but I didn't care. I'm a rule breaker. Anyway, another wonderful painting, Lindsay. I love the shorties, or longies. Have fun watching, no matter what. Keep on crafting!
Lovely images, wow. A question please? As I looked at the painting, I wondered what to do to make the sky appear heavier in the fore/mid-ground? You know how sometimes the sky seems to sit heavy above you then taper off into the distance! I think the hints of purple, or maybe it was the angle of my iPad gave me that “impending” feeling.😁😁
my paper just goes soggy andgrey when a put wash on it at beginning its crawford and black any advice ? it wont allow me to make cloud with tissue as paint doesnt come off
So pretty! Question: I don't have cotton paper so mine won't stay wet nearly this long so I can't keep adding paint. Is it possible to get those deeper colors with glazing?

@@thefrugalcrafter Thank you so much I am sorry i asked, i forgot i have your awesome substition chart! I got it out and looked.. You are so awesome. Thank you so much
Tip; the bigger the brush the bigger the paint puddle in your palette. If you want more contentrated pigment; take a smaller brush and the same ratio will automataticly be more dark. Im not to big on brush sizes. The biggest one I own is a 12 round. I recently baught it and much to my suprise I Love it,lol

Hi Lindsay,
Your painting is absolutely breathtaking. What a beautiful sky, and the trees are fantastic with the mountains in the back. Awesome job.
That was fun! And I am loving the landscape class. It's taking me a long time to finish but that is the good thing about an online class like that, I can deal with the life interruptions and then get back to learning. Thank you.
Thank you!
Thank you for always having confidence in our abilities as we learn to observe and put paint to paper with our experiences in nature.

More purple will make it feel heavier:)

Sure but it might lift the underlying layers and give hard edges.
THIS MASTERPIECE TOOK YOU ONLY 46 MIMUTES?!
my very simple watercolour paintung took 2 hours each, and they are half a paper!
How would I make this using watercolor pencils instead? Would I just use a brush to pick up the watercolor from the pencil?
yu can do that or apply a base of lightly colored watercolor pencil lead and add water.
Lindsay- is there anyway you can send me the link to the class I didn't get to finish? Thank you! I will explain what happened later.
