    As far as zero drop shoes go , for me the G270 are the only ones I have used which are comfortable beyond the half marathon distance .

    Recently got the G270 v1 in the sale, couldn’t resist the bargain price! Pretty happy, although the toe box could have been wider, but good width in the midsole (where I often struggle with shoes) and great heel width too

      Same here. Great training shoe for me, I got two pairs to keep them in the rotation going ahead!

    I'm onto my fourth pair of the original, raced them from 5km to 50km. I usually get around 1000km per pair. Love them! The light weight and wide toe box is the key for me.
    You are right about the ankle being stiff in the original when they first arrive, it usually takes around 100km before it starts really fitting like a glove.

    Dream shoe since the 260, so very pleased there's minimal changes and I like the way they've moved that structure back from the toe box as I did have a niggle there with one pair. Can't wait to get in them come the dry season. 😍

    Glad I bought a pair of their old g270's as they are/were recently very heavily discounted direct from Inov8.
    Great shoe though and good to see they haven't changed it too much

    Love the TrailFly on my 3rd pair. The only time I’ve felt they’ve struggled for grip is in deep sloppy mud but that’s to be expected given the lug pattern and depth. I run mainly in North Wales but have used these shoes year round in the Lakes, the Peak District when I know the it’s a mixed surface route. Looking forward to trying the V2.

    Got 2 pairs of terraultra g270 (Trailfly) my best!!… done a 125k with them, great they are. Great balance for protection/feel.

    Thank you Loyd. Completed GUCR in v1 pair, with just some tenderness around the instep, so hopefully a more comfy tongue could see them through the Thames Ring. Note the Trailfly 250 has a significantly more padded tongue, but with less midsole, and with boomerang insoles weighs more than the 270!!!

    That’s now without a doubt my favorite shoe I am I still have version one that’s what I’m using because it lasts like forever for me. Oh, but I’m going to pick up version two because I got some races coming up this winter. I found the shoe because Solomon stop making the pro series and I didn’t like the pulsar Pro and him and I found those and never been happier. I hope they work for everybody as well as they work for me and like I said, I’m running in version one now and what school is the graphing after it starts to wear down a little bit, you can use them is fine roaches. Thanks Greg video.

  • @chrisar2252

    Thanks for he review, it sounds like they've been very sensible. The old tongue seened to need wearing in a bit to soften it, and the uppers seem to show wear while the lugs had hardly worn. I was worried that they'd as some heel to drop, so I'm glad that they've left that alone (any sort of drop just irritates me when running on harder surfaces).

  • @christhompson1727
    @christhompson1727 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm the complete opposite when it comes to offset. When I get tired I start scuffing my heels when there's even a 4mm offset, but then I wear barefoot shoes day to day.

  • @mikehall6433

  • @legswillmove
    @legswillmove ปีที่แล้ว

    I almost ordered a pair of innov8s last night. They were one of the minimalist / barefoot pairs. Only problem is that they didn't really seem to have a foot shape like most other brands. Perhaps I'll give them a try at a later time.

  • @27johnny

    Great video as always. How does the the grip compare with the new Lone Peak?

  • @williamhansen1580
    @williamhansen1580 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Another great video Loyd, thank you kindly. Given what seems to be a decrease in the quality and durability of the outsole on the Saucony Peregrine 13 & the xodus ultra 2. And they reversed the six center heel Chevron lugs on the Peregrine 13 the shoe slips on the decents, unlike previous models. So I’m looking for an alternative shoe that is really good for ultra distance technical mountain running, combination of dirt, and rocky conditions here in Southern California. I’m wondering if you would suggest this inov 8 Trailfly G270 V2, or maybe you’re well rated reviewed Merrell Agility Peak 5 shoe. I have a narrower foot. Thank you kindly not only for the great videos but for your insight mate.

    Would agree that the grip or G grip as its known isnt very good on wet rock. If its the Cornish rock it works on then perhaps you need to take them to Snowdonia, as there using them was like using ice skates on wet rock, virtually no grip whatsoever ;-) Interesting update all the same.

    • @izirrduke9588
      @izirrduke9588 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do agree that the Graphene Grip on wet rocks is not the best. Frixion from La Sportiva is better in this case.

      @@philgee5220 Furthermore, the Trailfly G 270 v2 is a great shoe, close to the ground. But unfortunately for me, the inner sole (so particular in conception and density) creates numbness to my feet. Despite almost 100k in the shoes, the problem goes on. Really disturbing. If I put another inner sole, the shoe is too loose and I can't lace it properly.

  • @Thefifaplayeryant

    The more padding sounds like the one thing which affected me the most, "fun part" is the well broken v1 (>200km) just gave me a blister where the tongue meets the collar of my right foot in yesterdays run, bummer. I used the heel lock which is always more pressure but as the run was quite boggy, I wanted full control and after using this shoe quite a bit in the past, this shouldn't happen...apart from this (and without Heel Lock) a great shoe (after a painful Break-In period in my case), even if the most "minimal" shoe I can handle up to 50k...

      The inov8 shoe is a trail shoe that can handle a bit of road now and again, it's not a road running shoe. If you tend to run road most of the time there's better options on my opinion. Thanks for watching 🙏

    What uk size does the number equate to for the weight and is there a chart to show the weight for different sizes? Look really good but I’ve never run in a zero drop shoe and I just don’t know how that would feel compared to ones I’ve worn, between 5-12mm in the past?

    • @Run4Adventure

      The 270g is the weight of a sample size so a mens uk8.5 Stuart 👍
      I'm not sure if inov8 have a chat for the weights of all the sizes? As far as the Zero drop thing goes, you just have to try and find out. Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel, best of luck 🙏😊

    $170 is ridiculous. That shoe should be at the same price point as the peregrine 13. There isn't any features to justify that price over the v1.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree Josh, it's quite expensive when you compare it to some other brands and models. Unfortunately, I think Graphene is an expensive material to work with so it puts the price of the shoes up. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
