I’m a professionnel toe walker #2 bit mostly #3, lol find out at 22 it ain’t normal lol thanks for the video never had any problems with it, work for me and i love it!)
Thank you for all of your content on toe walking. I have a general question. My son's right foot is a lot more tight(calf muscle) than his left and although he knows how to walk and tries, it is really hard for him to hit with his heel on that foot. We went to PT for about 2 months and the PT said that he hit a plateau. I am working with him at home now until we see his Dr. Have you ever experienced a success story without surgery on someone who is a number 3? edit... just wanted to add that he is 14
Unfortunately, the answer depends on the results of the assessment of the child. For some children I recommend toe walking SMO‘s, for some I recommend night braces, for some I recommend flexible back orthotics. I really like Cascade orthotics.
My granddaughter does toe walking they diagnosed her with cerebral palsy because of the toe walking and what got my attention of what you're saying is the back knee situation I did my research on the difference between cerebral palsy and toe walking there's a certain stance that cerebral palsy people have is the back stance Common with toe walkers
For a long time I wanted to know what kind of toe walker I am, and I finally know now. I'm a type 3 toe walker cause my heels only touch the ground when I'm sitting and I need my feet flat on the floor, but even then, my ankle is at an angle otherwise it would hurt really bad. I'm 16 years old and I've been toe walking ever since I knew how to walk at 1 and a half years old. My mom didn't know that toe walking would become an issue so now I can't stop cause it's been 14 and a half years. Yesterday I tried walking normal, and I couldn't do it more that 5 steps, and my legs hurt so bad I cried yesterday. They are still really sore, and it kinda hurts to walk. Idk how I'm going to stop now.
It’s not too late to go to physical therapy And get help. You are still quite young. You will have to persevere and work hard but you can still make changes.
@@pediatricPTexercises Maybe, but I'm not sure if I would have to get afo's to correct it, or if I'm to old to do that. Plus it's going to a while before I can start PT, cause my house just caught on fire and we're too busy trying to get a house and beds and clothes cause those are the things I lost. I haven't transferred my pediatrician and I'm about an hour and a half away from where my pediatrician is.

Goshh my parents have always pointed out about how i tiptoe and my kind of tiptoe is the 3rd level. I would walk like this almost all of the time and when im running it kinda goes into the 2nd level. And when i walk normally the back part of my calf hurts. Should i consult a doctor about this?
It is considered unethical for me to provide treatment recommendations for a person I have not personally evaluated. However, I can say in my own life if I am unable to relieve pain through techniques that I am aware of, I seek assistance.

Yes, it is called toe walking in English. However the problem is in the tightness calf muscle and weakness in the muscle in front of the lower leg. Hopefully this playlist will help you th-cam.com/play/PLAkJbMrHyKjP470frDXaGDv2XrtEqPEUx.html

Hi my daughter 16 now was a severe toe walker sinec she started walking. We were unaware about the cause till she turned 10. We started her PT at age 10 till 12 and also gave her AFO at night but didnt help. Thats when covid happened , so we discontinued PT and right after that her growth spurt. She is 16 now and I as a parent see that she has become type 2 or may be tyoe 1 toe walker now. There os definitely improvement in her toe walking but She has constant calf pain and recently even conplained of mild toe numbness. We had shown her to a pediatric neurologist too when she was 10 and he had ruled out neuro angle, but toe numbness and back pain is what is concerning. Also she sleeps on her tummy is around 15 kg overweight. Could that be the reason for back pain? Please advise as for some reason here in Delhi, India I have not been able to come across a doctor who has been dealing with toe walkers.
I believe there is research that correlates the height of toe walking with compensation in Back Extension. It makes sense to me that your daughter is having back pain. I would recommend you return to physical therapy to address both of the back pain and the toe walking. I wish you the very best of luck. Maybe some of the exercises in this playlist can help her.

Does a tow rocker have unusual wear on shoes? Would great heel wear suggest something?
Its actually the fronts of the shoes that are more worn. The heel tends to be worn less not more.
Amy what afo brace would you suggest?

So the waddling I’m seeing in my daughter isn’t necessarily connected to the toe-walking?
I can’t really answer that without evaluating your daughter. Often I see waddling when the stiffness runs higher up the legs
