Thanks for the tip about pressing and holding the zero button. It works on the UV-5R as well. I'm waiting for the V2 to arrive. NOT approved for here in Canada, but see if I care.
Thanks. Also if you want to do this in chirp you go basic settings, you would do display mode a - name, display mode b- frequency then "sync a&B " check on.
There probably is but none that I’m aware of. I haven’t researched it any, as I have the identical radio for VHF/UHF ham, which is the Baofeng UV-82. The only difference between the two radios that I’ve found so far is that the UV-82 does not allow me to sync the top and bottom displays when you change channels. This is a nice feature because you can then display the channel name on the top line and the corresponding channel frequency on the bottom.
Yes it does come preprogrammed with the standard GMRS channel names including the GMRS repeater channels. I should have clarified that you will need to add channel names if you add any additional channels such as custom repeater channels with specific PL tones or other UHF/VHF channels that you are monitoring. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’ve recently purchased and reviewed the Wouxun KG-935G Plus and love it. My only complaint is that the color screen is hard to read in sunlight as compared to the simple LCD screen on the BTech. Also recently purchased the he Wouxun KG-Q10H Quad band HT and it’s been excellent also.

Awesome. Good to know and thanks for sharing.
Is there a way to jailbreak the frequency ranges?

TIDRADIO H8 is a way better radio. Wouxun KG-UV9GX is the best HT available.
