    The BK-0010 computer was developed in 1982 (this is the first Soviet home PC) based on the original Soviet K1801VM1 microprocessor (PDP-11 command system - very popular then in the USSR, powerful and very convenient for a programmer), the computer is fully 16-bit, clock frequency 3 MHz, RAM 32 KB, ROM - 24-48 KB, graphics 256x256 with 4 colors and 512x256 monochrome, hardware vertical scrolling. On its basis, BK-0011 was developed in 1986, processor is the same, frequency is 4 MHz, RAM is 128 KB (the user's RAM is 7 times more than that of the BK-0010), ROM is 48 KB, graphics are about the same, but there are choice from 16 palettes (total number of available colors - 14), frame interrupts, second frame buffer. Since 1990, BK-0011M has been produced (similar in parameters to BK-0011) - an excellent simple 16-bit general-purpose computer, including games and demos. The BK series was very popular and widely known in the USSR; these PCs were used not only as home PCs, but also as educational ones. Produced approximately from 1984 to 1993.

    About 650 games are known for BK in machine codes and many more in BASIC and Focal. A lot of games are quite original, not copying games from other PCs, but there are also quite a few ported games (usually with graphics and other changes, in accordance with the features of the BK).

    Fun fact, the same year Blockout came out, Alexey Pajitnov (Russian man and creator of Tetris) created Welltris. Welltris is almost the same game; a 3D top-down Tetris. It had some slight differences, but I think it's incredible that Welltris and Blockout somehow came out the same year and almost had the same idea.

    Just a note - most of reviewed games were written by a teenagers, like a hobby. Comparing teenager's soft with "legends of industry" soft? Bad idea.

    How could you have missed "Toppler"? 😜
    ....and "Amaurote" for BK011 was the greates version amongst all the others

      He missed about everything. All the popular games for BK0010, the BK0011+SMK with "Prince of Persia". But ok let's assume he's a poor guy and don't have money for BK0011M with SMK512 but he can at least use joystick where it was intended to. He instead use single key sensing keyboard... The lamest BK review i've ever seen. 0/10

      Don’t worry, I’ll definitely make to include those ones when I do another video on the BK. I’ll be sure to also include other more popular ones too.

    Also, will you be covering the history of any future games you plan to review?

    • @averageretrogameenjoyer8086

      If I can find any history, I definitely will. With these ones it was just hard to find any information on them.

    Glad YT recommended this to me. But you are a bit harsh on what are most likely hobbyist games. Also, I guess you are running games on an emulator, that's worth mentioning when something doesn't work in a game.

    If you continue this into russian gamedev of 2000's, I can say it have big history behind it.
    Also - R-Type? Seriously ? )

    The lamest BK review i've ever seen. There was lot of popular games on BK but instead he got the ones I mostly never heard of. I just wondering why...

    • @averageretrogameenjoyer8086
      @averageretrogameenjoyer8086  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ll probably do a video on actually popular BK games, since this video was mostly just random games that I thought would be fun to review.
