See a whole bunch of comments saying the 100-year sentence is unfair...The police said the shooter was out on bond with 2 attempted murder charges prior to shooting the two police officers in a WHOLE OTHER STATE...Is this really unfair, or should the police let him loose in your area?

Ah thanks, I didn't catch that, so I was kinda on the fence, stating it does sound kind of extreme with what I had heard, but I figured there was more to the story. Thanks for clearing that up, your comment deserves more views, in case anyone missed that.

This comment section is sick. Two officers were shot and almost killed because of one man's bad decision making and people are crying about racism? Grow up. That cop had two young children and you have the gall to whine about the CRIMINAL going to jail? I wish that the video gave us more detail on the criminal, like why he shot the officers and if he had any prior mental health disorders so we could get a better picture. But seriously people? Have some fucking respect.
100 years does seem ridiculous tbh, but that doesn't change the fact that he shot two officers with the intention to kill them. Maybe later he'll have his sentenced reduced.

1 Time (A Rapper who supports Law Enforcement) mentions in one of his songs that "it's not a job, it's a lifestyle". Just like US Marines. No singular person can decide to go work or fight to protect others. It's not the money. It's the feeling of being able to protect those who cannot protect themselves. And knowing that your ultimate sacrifice means that someone else gets to go home to their family. Not everyone can be a cop. You're either born for it, or you're not. I know I was born for it, but I can't be a cop. My physical health means on a timer. And that physical health prevents me from becoming a cop. But if it weren't for my physical health, I'd be out there, wearing that badge. Doing the job that no one else would ever dream of doing.

@@stephanielong2674 Trust me, I get it too. There are some real sick cops out there (what happened to George Floyd and so many others was NOT ok) just like there are some really sick people in any office job, but there are good cops too. My parents have both served 25 years plus as police officers and only ever did honest work. I've met my fair share of shit cops, hell if you look up the $100 million sexual assault and harrassment lawsuit that happened to the RCMP (mounted police in Canada) from it's very own female officers, you'll get loads of data on disgusting cops. Big changes need to come to the police forces, but that shouldn't come in form of defunding. Some stations need the money for PROPER TRAINING which some officers clearly need.
People need to realize that cops are people too. You'll find bad cops just like you'll find good cops. If anything, more screening of a person should be done before they're qualified to become a cop. Background check plus mental health check and all. Unfortunately, that costs more time and money then any government wants to put taxes toward.

No murder suspect should be allowed out on bond, If your convicted and awaiting trial, then until proven guilty or innocent you should be in limbo. This tale is all to common in policing world, someone out on bond for murder, attempted murder goes on to kill a police officer, or commit more crimes. If you are gonna release them on bond, until they are cleared of all charges they should be require to wear a geofence tracking bracelet or anklet. How? You don't have the right to shoot at police officers who are doing their job. If you believe whatever is happening is unjust then you are free to take it up in court. But the idea that you should fight back and try to resist arrest is ludicrous. Billions of interactions with the 850+ thousand police officers that are in the US and less then .05% turn out in a lethal use of force. We highly publicize incidents and paint officers out to be villains because the majority of the population has no idea what it is like to work the job. Luckily social media has two sides and there is evidence out there showing that people who think they know better even in a simulated situation will often make the same choice in order to preserve their own life.
At the end of the day many officers have families like this individual and deserve to go home to them.

I have a different approach...It seems to me that the original plan for incarceration was to rehab somebody and then release them back into society...BUT if you give a person life then what's the point?...$100+ thousand a year per inmate and again for what?...So why not give the guilty a choice...Do the time or eat a bullet...For me the bullet would be fine, since I don't want to put my family through the ordeal of incarceration and visitation, which my guess would slowly but surely diminish as time went on...The living will keep living and the damned, well not so much...Food for thought...

I agree this man should be charged accordingly but 100 years is ridiculous.not all officers are good in America often acting more as organized militia mostly racist, spending more effort on themselves then public service. you rarely hear of an officer saving someone’s life! Do you hear more of them taking lives Police reform should be made and employ only most mentally capable of people! 90% of these officers on the street don’t have that psychological state to defuse deadly situations you can’t put a PTSD, modern warfare playing trigger finger happy cop on the streets and expect more harm then good. Not all officers should be treated with respect because you have a badge. I’ve seen a cop shoot 12-year-old girl with a knife And mental condition. That could’ve easily been resolved without deadly force you told me. Are all officers respectable?

For example, when George floyd was killed BLM took to the streets destroying people’s livelihood and looting stores (even in the UK where I live). Yet when a white person is killed by a black person you don’t see any white lives matter protests. @@sausageman6621 systemic and historic racism is much different from a few white men being killed, by terrorists I may add, not civil servants. The ones who loot are seen by the community as just taking advantage, they do not identify the BLM cause with those people. I’m British and even I’m not ignorant to the fact that WAY more black individuals are killed without reason by WHITE cops in the US. The UK is a completely different story so comparing lee rigby’s murder to the weekly slaughtering of innocent black individuals is pointless.
