It was a retroactive Oscar for Chaplin. Downey has not been a good actor since he blew his mind with drugs ,Kimmy nailed it ,like everyone does ,when he said ," he was just Downey Jr"
You know what should’ve won an Oscar? That Wonka experience in Glasgow, ammaright? Someone should tell Limmy about that, I’d love to hear his thoughts.
He only watches movies with the express intent of hating them with a grin on his face & is disappointed when it’s good. I love it. I aspire to be this level of angry at the world when I’m his age.
In short, the US film industry relies on building people to a mythical star level, that's what they did to Meryl Streep, and now they are doing with Emma. They are great, it's not fair to others, but it's business. Movies with the Oscars seal of approval bring tons of cash from the whole world, in turn, they need to make themselves relevant by building myths.
That's exactly what I thought about Emma Stone's reaction too. So many people - not just actors - have this fake 'larger than life' persona that they never drop. It must be exhausting.
To be honest he isnt wrong. I went back and watched a bunch of limmy show and was kind of shocked how good of an actor Brian Limmond is. Even showed my Canadian friends and they loved him too ❤
Awards season in a nutshell. Same five films nominated for everything. Same films winning everything. I just watch it for the event itself and the potential memes
I thought it was the best one in a while. Cena was great, Ryan Gosling was great Pacino was great, the holdovers supporting actress was great. I like how they had all the previous winners so a speech for each nominee
Totally disagree with him on Paul Giamatti but still a funny take from Limey. Giamatti is an actor like Nicholson or Bogart. He understands what he does and does it exceptionally. He does “truly embody” his characters for that reason, where as most the method actors can feel unauthentic.
Was surprised a lot of other films were overlooked... Cillian Murphy is good though... the bit were they test the H bomb was cool... Poor Things is one of those weird films... kinda trippy wi hidden meanings... probably very impressive to the critics...
Stone's Oscar performance gave me more second-hand embarassment cringe than watching Oppy boy and his appalling acting under the presence of dreadful direction
I think the Godzilla minus guy could have been up for an Oscar. I think Oscar Isaac did a great job in spiderverse. Bradley Cooper as Rocket actually was the best performance of his for me. Chuckwudi Uwuji too could have been up for one. Michael Fassbender in The Killer. Andrew Scott in All of Us Strangers.
I think Emma Stone is so good at acting that her persona is an act also, but weirdly I still like her and her performances, a lot. ‘Poor Things’ was amazing and her performance in ‘The Curse’ (which, funnily enough is about people being very fake) with Nathan Fielder is brilliant also. I also want to add that Limmy is an amazing actor also and I always thought back in the day that he’d end up being in films, he’d be incredible.
He also did his usual thing?? Like if he transformed into Anthony Hopkins or Jeremy Irons, like a complete transformation and departure from his safety blankets, I'd have loved it, but he still had that zany energy thing he does
Tbf the amount of ‘shock’ Emma was showing on her face was far too much- it was as if she was the pure underdog of the awards season. A bit like Olivia Coleman the year she won and that came across a lot more genuine if that makes sense
@@megsmagoo7231 I hear you. But people also should remember that sometimes one person's authentic reaction or self-expression can appear contrived to someone else. You can get a vibe, but you can't trust it to always be accurate, so I try not to judge. Anyway I actually have no opinion on the Emma Stone thing, I just thought Limmy's spiel was funny because he came off like he thinks facial expressions in general are just performative
Really enjoyed the third act of this video
I actually thought it was Oscar-worthy
They really missed Liam Payne’s coked out emoting this year
He used to live behind my house.
"Paul Giamatti, is that how you say it?" Nothing's ever the way you say it, Limmy.
They were campaigning for Robert Downey Junior from the moment it was released. He was the chosen one. No one else stood a chance.
It was a retroactive Oscar for Chaplin.

limmy doesnt miss a beat. the man has a lazer focus on ever event and gives the best commentary
Only actors act that way winning awards. Costume designers, cinematographers, editors etc all act like normal people.
You fast forwarded the last half hour haha “what did he do in Oppenheimer”
To be fair to Emma, i dont think anyone thought she would win over Lily Gladstone
Emma Stone is acting 24/7. Her acceptance speech was like a scene from a film where she's playing a character whose won an Oscar.

Pure MasterClass.
The problem is "Oscar level" has no level. It's whatever is popular enough to get an Oscar
Matt Damon was better than RDJ in Oppenheimer
Didn’t think either of them were that great
Tom Conti was better than both of them.

Killers of the Flower Moon is pretty good. Some really dark jokes in it which kinda jump out at you, just wish it wasn't so long.
How he describes Paul Giamatti can be said for Anthony Hopkins, maybe Jack Nicholson too. They play themselves in different scenarios
